brother overall history • sadie had been an accident, that was no secret. her parents were at the peaks of their careers when her mother discovered she was pregnant at twenty-five. she was an aspiring model, already well known in the southern california region and making her way towards popularity in los angeles. her father was a photographer, often performing photoshoots for his wife to boost her image. they had met on the job six years before and quickly fell in puppy love. children hadn’t been a plan for another ten years, but despite the roadblock this presented to isabelle’s career, they were both excited. until her mother bounced back into shape, she was doting and smothering to her baby girl. her father was the breadwinner and was often out of town scoring big photography shoots that allowed them to build up enough wealth to purchase modest, modern home in beacon hills. the moment isabelle was able to, she was out of the house and traveling the country as the face model to an upcoming fashion brand. randy opted to stay home, taking on small jobs locally and bringing sadie to the shoots with him. she quickly fell in love with the art of photography, playing with old cameras or toy versions her dad would eagerly push into her hands. she loved all things art, and everything her dad did too. her mother would stop in monthly, if that—very career focused. this caused a disconnect in sadie’s relationship with her mother. she was a devout daddy’s girl and becoming a tom boy was a natural transition. when she reached age five, her mother ended her contract with the company and took on jobs much closer to home. sadie struggled with the sudden adjustment, but was happy to have her mother home. a year later, her little brother was born. sadie adapted to being a big sister much quicker than being her mother’s daughter, constantly asking to hold little ollie and cuddle him close. there was trouble with her understanding why her mother was here for ollie’s childhood, but had been so absent during her own. eventually she would come to terms with her mom’s reasoning, but couldn’t as a child. she spent most of her time outside of school at her father’s side or taking pictures with whatever phone or camera she could get her hands on. when she was eight, she got lost in the woods while playing tag with some neighborhood kids. she wasn't found until well after midnight and only because of her screams. she's terrified of the dark because of this experience. there had been no moon in the sky and the stars were muffled by the trees. it had been pitch black. at ten, they moved a few neighborhoods over to a house with a pool. sadie was quickly convinced she was a mermaid in another life, her parents couldn’t keep her out of the water. the house they moved into was only a few doors down from the munson’s. at twelve, as she entered her second year of middle school, she found herself getting flustered around girls the way her classmates explained their crushes on boys. it wasn’t until she was thirteen, and her best friend had sealed his lips over hers that she had the strength to confess that she was a lesbian. elliot was the first person she’d ever told. they’d been friends for a year, having bonded over their love for photography in their digital arts elective class. the pair had spent long hours working on projects together and spending time at one another’s houses. after she had told him, they had somehow grown even closer. sadie integrated well into elliot’s family, and so did oliver. when her parents would go out of town for business, they often let their kids spend the time with the munson’s until they were old enough to stay home on their own, but even then, they chose to stay with the other family most of the time. ollie and wyatt were good friends and often played video games on their own while sadie would sit between leo and elliot to binge watch horror shows or anime. she loved playing with the boy’s longer hair, trying out new styles and was so happy that they would let her. just before she started high school, she came out to her family. her parents were welcoming and loving, though her mother was a bit hesitant at first. ollie didn’t quite understand what that meant, for at seven even the concept of him liking a girl was gross. the munson’s had open arms for her and acted as though nothing had changed. she had been so fearful of how they would all react, but she couldn’t have received more love. as they entered high school, sadie decided that she didn’t want to love in secret. being gay wasn’t wrong and with the way the world was changing, she was confident that she could do this—she wasn’t alone. except, she kind of was. beacon hills was a small town, and despite being in california, there weren’t many other students who were openly out. it was at the end of their first semester of their freshman year that a group of girls cornered her after swim practice and accused her of checking them out and making them uncomfortable—which she hadn’t been, they weren’t her type. they’d broken her nonetheless, crying into elliot’s arms as he got the story and the names out of her. the next day she had been sat at the lunch table waiting for elliot or freddy to show up, when they both turned the corner with the group of girls following with their heads hung. elliot made them apologize and then publicly shamed them for being homophobic. sadie had been deep red in embarrassment, but so damn thankful that he’d stuck up for her that way. it almost made her swoon. almost. in spring of that year, she joined the swim team. she excelled in the team setting and made friends with a lot of the girls. it was at a swim meet in another town that sadie met a girl named lacey. the pair hit it off, swapping numbers and texting back and forth for a month or two before sadie took the plunge and asked her out. her dad drove her to their first date an hour away and would do so for the next few months. she liked lacey a lot, but she didn’t think it was love. she loved the time they spent together and loved kissing her, but she felt rushed. lacey was handsy and sadie was still only fourteen and wasn’t ready to move quicker than her seventeen year old girlfriend was wanting. she broke up with her and her parents let her adopt a cat as a way to cope. she found a long-haired orange tabby cat named stark and fell in love. she focused back on her classes and clubs shortly after the breakup. she was in photography club with elliot and d&d club with freddy. their group was much larger as their first year ended. elliot was dating mae, who he’d known his whole life and was such a sweet girl. she was always kind to sadie and they gossiped about the boy a lot when left alone together. freddy had been elliot’s friend since middle school, meeting him just before sadie did. zach played on the basketball team with elliot. gavin and steven had been long time friends and ended up in the same class as sadie and she’d roped them into the friend group. the boys were all quite popular—all so charismatic and hilarious. sadie was by proxy, but many people still tried to get away with bullying her. elliot didn’t let it slide. he’d been suspended more times than she could count with blood on his knuckles in her honor. she’d tried to talk sense into him, but that’s just how he worked. a true hero. as her brother finally got a little older, they began to have prank wars with one another. he was annoying and pesky, but could be really sweet when he wanted to be. but mostly annoying. when leo left, she felt crushed. he’d been like an older brother to her and knowing that he was shunned for his sexuality had made it hard for her to be around elliot’s dad for some time, but she pushed through it. elliot needed her for the first time. he’d broken up with mae and tried to push sadie away too, but she couldn’t let that happen. she wouldn’t. it was a tough time, but they got through it. elliot began dating more frequently afterwards and throwing parties at his house. she kept watch over him, but he never got too drunk and was always protective of others. it seemed more like he was looking for a fight than to have fun, but a year or so after leo left, he started to mellow out. blake was an interesting addition to their friend group, but he really only kept to elliot and was always happy to talk to sadie. she was a chatterbox, incapable of slowing down her tongue despite knowing she was giving away too much. she was lively and lovely and so happy. it wasn’t often there wasn’t a smile on her face. at the parties, she would occasionally make-out with a girl or two at the larger parties he threw, but hadn’t had another girlfriend and hadn’t gone all the way with anyone—heavy petting and groping, but she couldn’t lose her virginity to someone she didn’t love. at sixteen, she got a job at the local bowling alley. she worked there on the weekends and occasionally on weeknights. sadie considered that she was bi when she saw ashton for the first time, but elliot knocked sense into her by reminding her that the guy was just really pretty—which made her wiggle her brows at him and he rolled his eyes. the time leading up to their senior year was fairly lighthearted. parties and swim meets and photography trips with elliot. she doesn’t have her license, even at eighteen, because she is terrified of driving. but that’s okay, because elliot loves cars and being her chauffeur and she has a bike for when he’s busy. in 2018, the beginning of august and their senior year, she is helping prep a party for their group of friends and blake’s buddies. she’s intrigued by elliot’s new fascination with jade little, ashton’s girlfriend, and kind of worried. she needed time alone with him to suss out his intentions, but she trusted they were pure. she occasionally talks to mae behind eli’s back, reassuring her that he’s doing okay because the girl still loves him even after all this time. sadie feels sick about it, but she knows that eli wouldn’t be mad. she just didn’t like keeping secrets from him. she has worked her way up to manager at the bowling alley and spends most of her free time watching cheesy anime because the girls are pretty and she likes the fantasy of it all rather than the reality that she’s going to be alone until she can get out of this small town. but she’s still happy. she has family and friends who love and accept her and one hell of a gpa. she’s in no rush to leave her home, but she’s excited for what the future brings. the visuals home • a simple two-story home in the heart of the suburbs in beacon hills. it’s only two houses down from eli’s so they are often found at one another’s house. the kitchen has an open floor plan and is connected to the dining room. the bathrooms are grand and the office is used by her father for editing his photos and meetings. the living room is homey with a variety of seating options because they often have guests over. the house has a very modernized theme that echoes her parents' wealth. they have a drink corner off of the living room—a mock take on a wine cellar. her parents live on the second floor with her and ollie. the backyard has a pool and patio and tall hedges that act as a fence. bike • a sky blue beach cruiser pet • stark, an orange tabby cat named after ironman. outfits • she is known to dress, well, like a lesbian. she prefers muted colors and layers. she favors her dad’s old black bomber jacket with patches sewn onto the left side. she layers this over sweaters and t-shirts. she tends to wear funky patterns on her clothing as well, her favorite being her white over-shirt with black printed patterns over a bold shirt. her shirts are almost always tucked into her pants and she prefers to wear longer styled clothes despite the california heat. she does not tend to dress feminine, but she will dress up for photoshoots and when she wants to feel pretty with one of her mother’s gowns. the threads from first to recent:it started with a whisper | party topic |
