Skylar laughed a little nervously, trying to decide what she should say next. "Oh," she said, only because she never did well with awkward silences. "Um, I guess I'm not really sure...I mean, I care about you, like, a lot...I just don't know if..." she kept trying to figure out what it was that she actually wanted to say, but her mind was foggy and unclear. Then Skylar realized that Levi had no idea that Jasper knew about her feelings for him now, and she suddenly felt like she should know. "I, uh, told Jasper," she said, more quietly.

"You did?" Levi asked, raising a curious eyebrow at Skylar, not taking long to note that she'd told Jasper, not that Jasper had actually figured it out. Figures. It would be weird for Jasper to notice anything that obvious. And yet, it seemed nothing real had come of it, right? After all, Skylar was still sat in here, holding hands with a girl that she claimed to not have any feelings for. Having said that, Levi wasn't the type of person to get her hopes up, or even assume that just because Jasper clearly didn't give a shit, Sky would soon give up on her. Besides, she'd already accepted that Skylar would never like her in that way and, as much as it broke her to think about it, she was actually getting used to feeling alone.

Skylar nodded a little. "Yeah," she said. "But it doesn't really matter, I guess. It didn't change anything." Skylar would have been lying if she said she wasn't at least a little disappointed that Jasper hadn't even seemed to care that she'd been completely and totally in love with him for years, but it wasn't like he was in the best state when she told him either. If fact, it could have been said that he had a mental breakdown, but Skylar decided to leave that part out, for Jasper's sake. She shrugged a little, looking down into her lap, for some reason not wanting to look Levi in the eyes.

Levi almost copied Skylar completely, eyes dropping to stare expectantly at her lap, almost as if she expected it to provide some great answer as to everything that was going on. It didn't. Shocking, right? She didn't actually know what else to say, her anxiety suddenly coming back with a sudden force, crippling her before she even really had a chance to try. Words wre almost lost on her but, although it hurt to do so, she could still move. Shifting slightly so she was closer to Sky, she didn't really give her time to talk herself out of what she was doing, forcing herself to lift her gaze again to face Sky. Even if Skylar couldn't look at her, Levi could still gaze at Sky, piercing blue eyes watching the girl in front of her nervously. Taking a small breath to steady herself, she leaned forwards, knowing that this wasn't the kind of behavior someone who'd just been turned down exhibited, but admittedly a little too full of painkillers to care.
A frail hand lifted to touch Sky's face then, thumb brushing across her cheek gently as Levi whispered, "Just - just one more kiss, even if you already know you'll never love me like you love my brother. It's just - it's just one more, right? And if you well and truly feel nothing I'll go back to being the best friends awkward, gawky sister, no questions asked... Okay?" Her breath almost caught in her throat as she waited for Skylar to reply, heart beating so fast she was fairly positive even humans would be able to hear it if they listened hard enough. This whole thing was nerve wracking, but Levi was slowly getting to the point where she didn't actually have that much to lose - barely even holding onto her dignity anymore.

A kiss. It wasn't normally something that mattered so much to Sky, since she'd usually kiss about anybody who asked, but this was completely different. This kiss meant more than just a kiss. It was the decision of whether to continue to chase after someone who she would probably never have, or to give up on the only thing she'd ever wanted that bad for so long. But Skylar did have feelings for Levi. She knew that, even if she was too afraid to admit it. So maybe it wasn't much of a decision at all. Either way, Skylar couldn't deny how much she wanted to kiss Levi in that moment, and so she did.
Her shaking hand moved over to cup Levi's jaw, and then she leaned down carefully to press their lips together. Sky was more worried about hurting her than anything else, considering that she knew Levi was in a huge amount of pain. So she was much more gentle than she usually would have been, but it was nice. Though, if Sky had expected this kiss to magically make the decision for her, she would have been wrong. Her feelings were just a big jumbled mess that she gave up on trying to understand. But she hadn't expected them to sort themselves out now. She'd already made her choice before their lips ever touched.

Well. That was... Wow. Levi had expected a kiss, but she'd assumed it would be a peck or a brush, nothing that actually meant anything. She'd practically already written herself off, convincing herself that all she was ever going to be to Sky was the gawky sister, the girl you loved like a sibling more than anything else. And yet the kiss hadn't been a 'you're basically my sister' kiss, it was so much more - well, Levi didn't actually know what it is, but it was definitely enough to take her breath away. It did nothing but confuse Levi even more, not that she'd ever admit it. Shyly, she pulled away from Sky again, fingers nervously knitting together as she tried to think of what to do now, figuring that it hadn't Skylar at all either since she was yet to speak. It was at that point that Jasper reentered the room and, honestly, Levi couldn't tell if he had the best timing or the worst.

"I would ask if you missed me but I get the feeling the answer would be a resounding no," Jasper interrupted, bottle of water in his hand as he returned to where he was stood earlier, looking between the pair of them curiously before shaking the feeling that something more was going on off. After all, it wasn't that long ago that Sky had confessed her feelings to him, right? And Levi? Well, she wasn't a lesbian. What was he even worrying about? Offering the pair of them a warm smile, he eventually gave up and settled into one of the chairs by the side of the bed, realising he might actually be here for a while.

Skylar bit her bottom lip after the kiss, not sure what to do after that. Luckily, Jasper saved her from having to stumble out some awkward ramble about how she had no idea what her feelings were or how to figure them out. Skylar sat back in her chair, untangling her hand from Levi's. Then reality came back again and hit Skylar as she remembered that they were in a hospital, and she still didn't know what had beaten Levi up so badly. "So, uh, what happened to you?" she asked suddenly, since she didn't want to deal with the awkward silence of the three of them in a room together, and she wanted to know if this was something that they needed to worry about or not.

Levi froze. Or, she would have, if she physically could. The thought of what had happened left her hands physically shaking, and she just wished that she could pull Sky's hands back in close to her, but was still too conscious of Jasper's opinion of it to even attempt it. He would laugh at her for it, surely? It's not like he was the type to let things like that go easily. Besides, she had more important things to think about, like where'd she'd been for all that time... Fingers instinctively pulling on the covers of her bed, Levi struggled for words, mouth opening and closing as she tried and failed to find words, knowing that the only way she could say what happened is if she remembered and, right now, even that was a struggle. She had no memories of what had happened, at all and, the more she tried to remember, the more it felt like she knew nothing at all. It was like knocking against a brick wall and trying to get a response, even when it was already clear that whatever was behind the wall was fairly well sealed off. It was frustrating, and Levi just felt herself getting more anxious the more she tried to remember.
"I - I don't know," she admitted eventually, glaze turning to stare blankly at the cream bed sheet, almost as if it'd help. It didn't. She felt like she was staring at nothing, almost as if she was all alone. Jasper and Sky may as well not have been there, because Levi couldn't seemed to pull herself out of her head for long enough to really even acknowledge them right now. The worst part? Levi had no idea what was going on in her own head, either.

Skylar regretted asking the question when she the sudden look of nervousness in her eyes. She pursed her lips as she waited for Levi to say something, but when she finally did, Sky wasn't sure what to think. "You don't remember anything?" she asked, just to clarify. It made it a lot harder to figure out how to fix things if she had no idea what had happened. All Sky really wanted to do was make sure that this wouldn't be happening again, and to try to ease Levi's mind about it. But at that moment Skylar felt like Levi didn't even know she was there. Like she was so lost in her own thoughts and fears that she'd gone to some other place. Skylar glanced at Jasper, trying to gauge his reaction to the news.
