Mason and Pierce were talking with some input from Preston, Lia, and Nate and it was just a casual conversation. Though really if Pierce wasn't there it'd be different. He looked over at the sound of a voice.
He looked over at the voice and smiled when he saw Blake. "Hey. You okay?" Mason asked meaning what did the doctors tell him.

"I have an aneurysm," Blake replied with a small shrug, figuring that if it was bad enough for surgery, he probably would've already had it treated by now. He was probably just going to be put on medication and then monitored, but, he figured that shouldn't be hard considering he'd probably end up in and out of hospital a lot now anyway. Grinning slightly, he quickly continued, "and they didn't tell me this, but I'm fairly sure I broke my arm," he lifted the arm that was in a cast up and offered Mason a slight waving, finally finishing off by saying, "and I have so many bandages around my waist that you can no longer see my six pack, how much does that suck?" There was a hint of jokey sarcasm in his voice then, as it was fairly clear to most people that Blake really wasn't the type to have a six pack. He was weedy, not muscly. He left it at that, deciding that the whole 'I have cancer, thing could wait until another day, one where Mason wasn't still recovering and his family members weren't all also in the room. Besides, Blake hadn't figured out a way to tell people without crying yet, and wasn't about to try now.

Mason smiled at Blake though it wasn't fully there. "Blake I'm really sorry." Mason said. Which made braydon want to say something but Braydon showed no emotion and sat quietly.

"I don't blame you, it's fine, really." Blake offered him as much of a smile as he could muster up considering everything that was going on. It wasn't much of a smile, but it was something. Honestly, he couldn't imagine the amount of guilt Mason must have on his shoulders right now - even Blake felt bad and he wasn't the one driving. It was more the fact that they were high that he felt bad about, as well as the fact that it was his house they were driving to. There was a whole mess of things that Blake could've done which would've meant they were in a different situation, that meant no one got hurt and meant no one was stuck in hospital when they didn't have to be. It could have just have easily been Blake driving, and that was the one thought that was terrifying him the most.

Mason nodded he looked over at Blake and suddenly felt very awkward. Mason never had a lose of words but right now he did. He looked down at the ground.

"I'm serious Mason, I really don't think it's your fault. Besides, even if it was your fault, that'd mean you also saved my life, so..." The words were out of his mouth before he could think about what he was saying, just trying to make Mason feel better. It hadn't actually occurred to him that he'd have to explain what he meant after he said it - already figuring most people would just end up confused. His smile faded slightly then, and his gaze dropped from Mason to stare at the floor instead, grip on Braydon's hand increasing slightly. He was determined not the bring the room down, however, and so quickly pulled himself back together again, smile brightening once again, even if it did look just a little forced.

Braydon squeezed Blake's hand back. Mason looked curiously at Blake. "What're you talking about?" Braydon asked curiously.

"I, uh-" Blake paused, turning to look at Braydon, as if the guy would have any sort of magical advice on how to handle this situation, even if Blake was fairly sure Braydon was just about as blind as to how to handle things as he was. Right now, he had a choice of either telling the whole room, most of Mason's family included, or just promising to tell him later, when there were less people that he didn't know very well around. He didn't particularly want everyone to know, because the more people that knew, the more chance it had of going around school, and Blake'd much rather pretend that he was fine. He didn't need people stepping on eggshells around him, and part of him was worried that that's what would happen if it got out. "I'll tell you later?" He finally replied, although it came out more of a question than a statement. Quickly, his gaze moved back to Mason, still forcing a slight smile.

Mason nodded at Blake. "Yeah sure." Mason said with a smile. He understood I Blake didnt want to say now because it looked like it as something big and Mason couldn't help but worry that it was because of the accident. So that instantly made Mason worry an wishing he could reach out for Pierce'a hand.

"What about you? You alright?" Blake asked, realising he hadn't actually asked that yet. It was probably because Nate had basically already said what was wrong but, at the same time, he knew he should probably at least ask Mason if he was okay. After all, he did look like shit, but Blake wasn't about to say that out loud. Besides, he was fairly sure he looked like shit too, and he didn't particularly want reminding of it, so why would Mason?

"Just some minor brain damage and a broken leg." Mason said. He didn't want to really talk about his problems though because he felt like he wasn't worthy of it. "Nothing that can't be fixed." Mason said.

Blake raised an eyebrow at Mason, silently wondering just how he could refer to any sort of brain damage as 'just'. Just was the type of word when all you'd managed to get a paper cut, or if someone asked you who you were talking to on the phone in case it was interesting, and you had to tell them it was just your crazy Aunt Nelly, asking if you could cat sit for her whilst she was away at a knitting convention... Not that that had ever happened to Blake, honest. "Brain damage?" he asked anyway, despite the fact Mason seemed pretty determined to brush the whole thing off. It sounded pretty serious, and Blake couldn't help but worry a little bit.

"Just uh problems with my motor skills is all." Mason said. He wanted to reach for Pierce's hand but he couldn't in front of his family. So he just shrugged at Blake. He decided that maybe playing it off as it was no big deal would make it not seem that bad

There is was again, the word just, like Mason really didn't care about what was going on. Blake had a feeling that wasn't exactly what was going on, and that chances were Mason was playing it down just because he was scared of facing the truth - that brain damage was actually pretty damn terrifying, especially because sometimes it turned out to be the type of thing doctors couldn't fix, and Blake had no idea whether Mason's case was curable or not. He wasn't about to ask, either, because he had a feeling all he was managing to do was make Mason feel a tad uncomfortable, or, at least, more uncomfortable than he was already. "Sounds shit man, I'm sorry," he replied instead, frowning slightly as he tried to think of a way to change the subject and failed miserably.

Nate pent a minute or two comforting Blake's parents after Blake had left, just because that was how Nate was. Even if he had never met the couple before, he still offered them his sympathy. Then he returned to his own family, who were soon joined by Blake and Braydon again. Nate bit his lip a little, knowing that Blake wanted to tell Mason about the whole cancer thing, but not in front of the rest of his family. "Hey guys, maybe we should, um, give them a minute?" Nate knew that he'd probably raise some eyebrows with that, but he didn't really care.
Preston and Pierce nodded, both needing to get some air themselves. Being in a hospital was never good for a werewolf, since the whole place just smelled like sickness, anger, and depression. Pierce didn't want to leave Mason, but he knew that he'd see him again soon enough.
