"They're talking to the doctors somehow convinced the doctors tell me back here claiming I'm your brother because doctors don't like anyone but family in." Braydon said reassuring Blake. "I'm sure they'll be out soon." Braydon was scared that something was seriously wrong with Blake with how long the doctors had been talking to Blake's parents.

Almost as soon as Braydon said that, Blake's parents reappeared, his mum poking her head round the door, freezing for a minute as she realised Blake was awake, and yet still somehow managing to walk in as if everything was completely fine. His dad on the other hand, well, he clearly wasn't doing so well. He'd been crying, and you could clearly tell that he'd only managed to pull himself together in the last five minutes or so - eyes still glossed over with a watery film. There was more going on than broken arms and aches then, clearly. Fuck. His dad moved to lean against one of the walls whilst his mum moved to sit next to him, perching on one of the chairs nervously, almost as if she would have to get up and run at any moment and wanted to be ready for it. Neither of them said anything at first, his dad staring at the ground at blinking rapidly, almost as if the bright white floor gave the secret to not crying, whilst his mum just stared. She wasn't even looking at anything in particular, just space, until eventually, she found the words to speak.
"You had an aneurysm." The sentence was short, clipped, like it would physically pain his mum to talk any more than she already had, and yet somehow managed to continue. "They say it's kind of uncommon after an accident, but it's understandable as the - as certain substances weaken blood vessels." Her voice was still cold, like she'd already rehearsed what to say a thousand times and yet was still managing to stumble over the words slightly - like a young actor that was slightly unprepared for their first audition. Despite that, the words still sounded empty, like they'd been chosen so carefully in order to ensure nothing was revealed that shouldn't be - did that mean.... Were Blake's parents not telling him something? Blake honestly couldn't figure it out. He seriously couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more going on, and so his grip on Braydon's hand increased slightly, anticipating the idea of bad news before the words even left his mum's mouth. The words that followed, even though they were only four, were enough to turn Blake's stomach.
"But there's been complications."

Braydon knew what that was because of the medical class he took when he was a freshman. He bit his so hard he could taste the blood entering his mouth but he didn't want to cry because he needed to be there for Blake so he just sat quietly. He couldn't stand to be in the room and just felt like he was at any moment gonna lose his best friend, his boy friend and that was when braydon finally decided staring at the wall was better than looking at Blake.

Pierce had been at the hospital for over an hour, but they wouldn't let him see Mason for a while since he wasn't family. Eventually, though, Pierce snuck past the nurse who kept denying him entry and then found Mason's room as he passed Preston and Lia leaving to get food.
Pierce was nervous to see Mason, but he didn't look that bad. Beat up, sure, but not unrecognizable. He rushed to the boy's side, taking his hand. "You scared the hell out of me, you asshole," he said, but he was smiling at him a bit.

Mason looked over at Pierce but didn't have the urge to smile. Mason had been really quiet which was odd for someone who never shut up and just partied all the Time. He looked at their hands holding then back at Pierce.

Pierce's eyebrows furrowed at Mason's silence. He didn't know the full story though. All he knew was that Mason had gotten in a car wreck with Blake while he was high. "Okay then..." he said, trailing off. "Why so quiet?" Pierce had never been able to shut Mason up, so having him silenced was completely unusual.

Mason started crying before he could stop himself. "I killed somebody." Mason said in a whisper. He couldn't help but wish he was the one dead instead of that other girl. He wanted to be dead because he deserved it the most. He didn't tell Pierce what was wrong with him and at the moment he didn't want to.

"What?" he said, quieter now. "Oh my god, Mason..." Pierce wasn't sure what else he could say. It was Mason's own fault, sure, but he still felt bad for him. Mason never meant to hurt anyone. He was just a stupid teenager.

Mason nodded before he meant eyes with Pierce. "What the hell is wrong with me? " Mason asked. He squeezed Pierce's hand and never lost eye contact with him.

Pierce shook his head. "Nothing," he said. "Nothing's wrong with you. It was an accident." Pierce knew that Mason would blame himself, and part of him thought he should, but part of him thought otherwise. It was a mistake. A big mistake, but still a mistake.

"A mistake that hurt people." Mason said. "A mistake that hurt a family cause by me driving when I was high don't you see how stupid that is? The drug is fucking illegal for a reason." Mason said.

"Woah woah woah, don't go hating on the drug," he said. "The drug didn't cause you to get in the car, you did." Then Pierce realized that it was the worst thing he could have said there. "Sorry, that was insensitive. Just...look, I don't really know what to say here, but I want to make you feel better. You just tell me how."

Mason let go of Pierce's hand and turned the other way and looked at the wall. Yes Mason choose everything he did but he should've never got the drug. He should've never sold it blake either. He should've listened to Preston but of course he never did.

Pierce sighed, not sure what to do or say. "You're going to be okay, right?" he said, looking around at all of the machines hooked up to Mason that were recording all kinds of things that Pierce didn't understand.

"Yeah my motor skills have just back lashed to a 2 year old type motor skills. " Mason muttered. "And I killed a person. This all not including what ever is wrong with Blake because no one has told me." Mason said.
