Okay, he had her there. Sighing, Rose looked back over at him a small smile tugging at her lips. "You're right and we really need to try and get better at being civil with each other." Because if they were going to do this - whatever this was - they needed to not be trying to bite each other's heads off every other sentence. "I'll make sure Natalia doesn't find Levi." Rose wasn't sure how she'd do that but she'd try, even if it meant watching American Horror Story with Natalia every night, Rose had nothing against the show she just didn't enjoy hiding behind pillows to watch it.

Jasper resisted the urge to grumble something about Rose starting it, not really wanting to end up sounding like a stubborn child on the verge of throwing a temper tantrum. Instead, he just offered her a warm smile, trying his best to stay as civil as possible with her now. Besides, he was fairly sure he'd just won their previous argument - had she thought she could've argued anymore, she would have, right? Brushing his hand through his hair, he thought for a minute before finally replying, "and I'll teach Liam not to be totally useless... Sound like a plan?"

Rose nodded before adding "good," and then "it's a plan." It was a flimsy plan, so many ifs and buts came into it but since only a short while ago she'd had no idea that there was even a possibility of some sort of war, Rose guessed that she and her usually stupid brain had done well. "Liam'll probably come round, especially if I talk to him." Glancing back out of the window Rose watched the street for a while, it was quiet, too quiet, the whole house was too quiet.

"He'll have to if he wants to live," Jasper replied with a shrug, as if it was really that simple and like he wasn't actually that bothered whether Liam lived or died or not. It was clear that Liam was one of his priorites or, he used to be anyway - Jasper had gone to extreme measures to make sure he didn't die and, whether part of that was an excuse for his own personal gain or not, it didn't matter. The point was that Jasper had saved Liam's life once before, and he definitely didn't plan on that going to waste just because Liam was stuck on some sort of self-righteous ego trip. Watching her carefully, Jasper fell silent for a minute, knowing she was almost a little uncomfortable with being there. Finally, after long silence, he finally asked a question that had been bugging him for a long time.
"You really think I'm a heartless monster, don't you?"

Jasper's words startled her, making her jump away from the window slightly before looking over at him. Rose had no answer for him, well, she did but she had no idea as to how to word it. Maybe just a good ol' ramble would answer his question? It was worth a shot. "No, well, yes. But sometimes I don't think you are, like when you saved Liam and now when you're worried about Levi, it just kinda proves that you're not all that bad. To most people you're probably just the rich kid who has a very sarcastic way of talking but I'm guessing that to your pack you're some kind of leader, and I really have no idea where I'm going with this." Pausing for a moment, Rose tugged at a thread on her top, trying to regroup her thoughts. "Let's just say that I'm sure deep down you have a heart of gold."

Honestly, that wasn't he reply he was expecting. He expected her to just turn around, look him in the eyes and say yes, as he was fairly sure that was exactly what she thought of him. Hell, that's what most people that knew he killed his dad thought. To most, he was just another screwed up kid that, by some miracle had managed to avoid jail, despite the fact most people were fairly positive he did it, even if it was put down as an 'animal attack'. But, then again, what wasn't put down to an animal in Beacon Hills? Still, there was one thing she'd said that he wanted to correct, even if it did warp her opinion of him slightly.
"I didn't actually kill my dad just to save Liam, just for the record," he replied quietly, knowing that it was a little out of the blue but going with it anyway - admittedly a little glad to have it off his chest. Originally, his intentions had nothing to do with Liam, and the fact that he fell ill just as Jasper could help was a lucky coincidence and nothing more, as otherwise he'd probably have been buried six feet already.

Well, that surprised her, only for a moment then, the feeling was gone soon enough as her eyebrows creased together, trying to figure out why Jasper would kill his own dad. Rose wanted to know why but it felt like a bit of a fragile topic to talk about, or maybe that was just her? He'd probably be able to tell that she was curious though, so "why did you kill him then?" Rose asked in what she hoped was a mixture of curiosity and kindness, she had no idea where the kind side of it came from to be honest.

"You really wanna know?" Jasper asked, although it was clearly a rhetorical question. He'd already decided he'd tell her, even if it was for the sake of of clearing his conscience, slowly realising that all the secrets his family kept were only serving to make things harder for him, even if he'd rather pretend they were secrets for a good reason. Turning away from her, he headed towards the door, quickly coming to the conclusion that it was easier to just show her than tell her, that way she'd have to believe him. Propping the door open with his foot, he waited for her to follow him, knowing that she would just through pure curiosity.

Pushing herself away from the window, Rose followed Jasper, hands slipped into the pockets of her jeans. "If you're going to kill me, give me a heads up so I can make it dramatic." Rose commented no clue as to what Jasper was about to show her. Was she the first person he'd told any of this to? The question tugged at Rose's mind but she didn't ask it, not yet, she'd ask once she actually knew what he was going to show/tell her, then she'd be able to make a judgement, right?

"If I was going to kill you, you'd already be dead," Jasper reminded her, rolling his eyes at the comment but continuing down the hallway anyway, deciding it was a little too late to go back on it all now. Besides, he didn't actually dislike Rose enough to shut her out completely, even if she did have a habit of being a complete jackass at times (but, then again, so could he, not that he would ever admit to being anything other than awesome). He led her down the hallway, away from the study, and across the landing, only stopping once when his mum's personal assistant stopped the pair of them to question his mother's taste in pelmets... As if Jasper actually cared what the curtains looked like. Down the stairs and along another hallway, Jasper finally stopped in front of a door, biting his lip, fingers closing around the handle before he looked at Rose and murmured, "she doesn't like it when you stare, just for the record." Finally pushing the door and letting it swing open, his gaze flickered back to Rose, part of him trying to figure out exactly how she was going to react.
It was the door to his mum's room and, just as usual, she was slouched in her bed, reading a book a cuddling her favourite bottle of brandy like it was a beloved childhood toy, rather than a liqueur. When the door opened, she sat up slightly, peering over her book to try and figure out who it was - her eyesight wasn't great, and it clearly showed. Still, Jasper didn't think Rose'd need to analyse his mother's mannerisms to understand what was going on. After all, half of the woman's face was scarred and ripped, her eye a creamy blue colour, the iris itself distorted until it didn't really look like an eye at all, just a white ball with a cloudy sea of blue in the middle. Even if she wasn't scared, she still look frail, frame almost skeletal as she moved around in the sheets, pulling her arms back against her chest anxiously. She'd never been a massive fan of new people, and this was no exception. Still, she'd try, even if the nerves did get the better of her slightly.
"Rose, meet my mum," Jasper said quietly, his voice low as he leaned against the door frame, wondering whether Rose was going to actually take a step inside or not.

"Well, that's reassuring." Rose responded, just a tinge of sarcasm trickling into her words. Following Jasper closely, Rose looked around the house in as much of a subtle way as possible, she hadn't payed much attention the night of the party. When they were stopped, Rose listened to the exchange with half a smile on her face one though on her mind Seriously, curtains? That's supposedly a pressing matter? This house seemed to go on forever, or maybe Rose was just really that bad at maths and distance and anything vaguely confusing. This was most definitely the most nervous Rose had ever seen him. Rose had no idea as to what to say when Jasper spoke about whatever or whoever was behind the door. She supposed that she'd just have to find out.
Rose took in the scene before her, this was really not what she'd expected. It was so much sadder. Perhaps Rose should have been slightly repulsed by the sight of the woman and the obvious pain that had caused the injury on her face. Rose didn't need to have any form of supernatural abilities to sense the woman's anxiety at her arrival. Should she really be here, watching the person Jasper quietly informs him is his mothers. What was she going to say, the thought plagued her, still, after casting one quick look at Jasper, Rose took a tentative step inside of the bedroom, trying her best to offer his mum what she hoped was a gentle smile. "Hello," Rose nearly added 'Mrs Gold' onto the end of that greeting but stopped herself before she said them, "Jasper's mum," was what Rose settled on eventually.

"Hello," her voice was surprisingly warm, if not a little shaky, and the small smile that accompanied it was nothing if not friendly, even if it did seem like she was just a little bit terrified of Rose at the time. People weren't her strong suit, especially not ones she didn't already know. Having said that, she never had been a horrible person and, even if she didn't really understand what was going on or why the girl was actually in her room, she'd try her best to not look totally useless. Quickly folding the corner of the page she was on and shutting the book, she was quick to discard the brandy to her bedside table, surprisingly sober, all things considered. Gesturing for them both to come inside (partly because she had a feeling Jasper probably hadn't been the kindest to the poor girl, but also because she couldn't actually see them from the distance they were stood at), biting her lip nervously before quickly adding, "and please, call me Alice."

Noting the ladies gesture, Rose took a few more steps into the room, hand brushing over her opposite arm, offering her another small smile. Alice, yes, now that Rose looked at her she felt the name suited. "Hi, Alice, it's nice to meet you." Rose said after a moment, glancing over at Jasper, not sure where else to go from here; not sure what to do, not sure what to say. It had to have been an accident, right? His father wouldn't have purposefully gone out to hurt his wife... that was just awful. Then again how different was it from the times that Natalia and Alex had gotten into terrible fights, Rose couldn't really remember them, still, they both had scars to show of the nights.

Biting her lip, Alice wasn't sure whether it'd be rude to ask the girl for her name or not. Was that allowed? Or, had the girl already told her and she'd completely forgotten? ...It wouldn't be the first time she'd forgotten something she'd been told mere seconds ago. Still, she decided not to dwell on it, deciding that, if she hadn't figured it out by the time the girl left, she could always just ask Jasper. Still offering Rose a small smile, she made a conscious effort to brush her hair out of her face, almost skeletal frame practically shaking as she lifted her arms to tie her wavy brown hair back, leaving a few straggles of hair to hang by her face by accident. Having finally managed to get the small bobble around her hair, she dropped her hands back down to her sides, thinking for a minute before asking, "I'm guessing you're a friend of Jasper's?" Alice asked, raising a curious eyebrow at Rose (a small habit Jasper had clearly picked up from her, not that he'd ever admit it), "it's funny, he invites so few people to the house that I was actually starting to doubt that he had any." There was a hint of teasing in her voice then, and it was clear she was at least trying to relax, even if her body language was betraying her slightly.

Rose couldn't help but laugh at that, running a hand over her cheek as she tried to restrain herself from laughing too much. "We're working on the friends thing, Alice." Rose told her with half of a grin, glancing down at the floor for a moment. Rose wasn't used to situations like this but she'd try and make the most of it, or at least she try and not make Alice feel bad about, well, anything. "What were you reading, Alice?" Rose asked after a momentary pause, trying to brooch into a new topic.
