is known to be the father figure of the pack, despite not being the alpha. he’s extremely mature for his age, having grown up fast due to his homelife. he is intelligent, but by no means a genius. he is not the anxious type, very confident in himself and what he does, but he can get flustered rather easily when it comes to flirting or teasing. he rarely has a temper and is known to be the mediator. the history mother • jane, 45, paralegal, werewolf (beta)father • benny, 43, retired chef, werewolf (beta) siblings • no siblings cousin • ashton pines, 18, werewolf (alpha) overall history • jensen was born one month exactly after his cousin, ashton. another purebred beta in the pines pack. his father was the younger brother of the alpha, but not the youngest of the three brothers. his mom had been a beta who was visiting the area on vacation–she was originally from beacon hills. the two fell in love and had a summer fling. just before she returned home, she found out she was expecting. the pair eloped, a small wedding help on the pines’ property. jensen and ashton were raised like brothers, so close in age and so similarly looking that they often got mistaken for one another. it was joked that they had gotten them mixed up at some point, for jensen was docile like his aunt and uncle while ashton was wild like jensen's parents were known to be. they were best friends, always at each other's side until jensen's mom, jane, expressed that she was homesick. her mother was ill and she wanted to spend what little time she had left by her side. benny, jensen's father, was reluctant to leave, but knew he couldn't keep his wife from her family. at six, his life was uprooted. he no longer had the comfort of his family pack. he no longer had ashton. they moved in the summer, getting settled into their cabin just outside of the woods that lined beacon hills. jensen was a quiet, polite boy. he made nice with his mother’s side of the family, but they weren’t pines. they weren’t home. he would cry to his dad until he’d call up uncle alan and have him put ashton on the phone. the boys would talk for hours. upon entering first grade that fall, jensen was put in a class with dozens of new faces. he was nervous, but after being approached by a small girl with the clearest blue eyes, he calmed. iris was jensen’s first friend in beacon hills. the pair sat together in class and at lunch, spent recess chasing one another around the playground. he would visit her house on the weekends, her mother doting and kind as they played in her backyard. she rarely came to his house, for it was so far out of the way. also in his class was a boy named blake, a few months older than him and quite hostile. the boy was thin and looked sad when he sat alone. he would approach jensen and push him down, stealing his lunch from him and calling him names. jensen, somehow, didn’t take it to heart. maybe it was because the boy looked so upset when he thought no one was looking or maybe because his mom told him to always be kind, but he wasn’t bothered by blake. he asked his mom to pack him an extra sandwich everyday and after a moment of hesitation, she agreed. when blake approached him the next day to take his food, jensen held out the sandwich and his own bag of chips. blake had hesitated, but then took it without question. it became daily that blake would take the food and leave, but he stopped being so aggressive with the boy. in turn, iris noticed jensen sharing so she had her mother pack extra cookies, she give them to jensen and they would share smiles and laughs throughout the lunch break. over his first summer, jensen was at the park with ashton. it was the first time they had seen each other since the move. ashton had just stepped away, begging his parents to take them to get icecream when blake marched onto the playground. he made a beeline for jensen in the sandbox, a sneer on his lips as he grabbed jensen by the hair and went to shove him down. before he could push the kind boy face first into the granules, ashton was there. he pinned blake down, arm twisted behind his back and threatening the boy. blake never laid a hand on jensen again, instead they somehow became friends through the interaction–though it was clear the boy preferred ashton over him. when ashton left for the summer, blake stopped picking on jensen. this didn’t stop him from bringing an extra lunch for the bully, though. in second grade, he met sabrina. iris and blake were in a separate class and the girl was sat beside him by the teacher. the girl was reserved, much like himself, and they made quiet friends. when she slipped up one day and mentioned her ‘mutt’ brothers, he learned that she too was from a line of werewolves. they bonded over this and became close friends. they got along incredibly well, she called him jenny and he called her rina, but the same couldn’t be said for her and blake. the two, while clearly friends, bickered to no end. it brought a smile to jensen’s face as he watched them before he’d go seek out iris on the playground. when ashton met sabrina the following summer, he didn’t like her. they were too similar, butting heads as they fought over who jensen liked best. despite their feuding, she had been welcomed into the pines pack when her family became neglectful. when jensen entered middle school, he lost touch with iris. it was the age where it was strange to have friends of a different gender. she had found a small group of girls to eat with and he turned his focus towards his pack. in seventh grade, at eleven years old, he met murphy. he’d seen the boy in passing, but never had a class with him until now. the boy was cruel and mean in a way that blake hadn’t been. he was aggressive in the face of jensen’s kindness, and even went as far as to trip the boy, but similar to how ashton had stopped blake, blake stopped murphy. jensen realized then that blake saw him as family too, not just ashton. at twelve, they introduced him to ashton. after a moment of silence, he'd been welcomed into the group and he seemed to lose some of the tension he carried. jensen and him didn't get along well, but he still made a point to watch the boy's back. it went both ways. the three pack members often stayed at the pines house, for their own houses never felt like home. it was on a full moon in late december while blake was at the pines cabin that he shifted for the first time. no one had known he was a werewolf, but it seems his father had been and passed it to him. they talked him through the shift and properly taught him how to handle this knew revelation. jensen found it to be fate. jensen’s father had always been prone to drinking–spiking his soda with wolfsbane and binging hard liquor until the high hit him. it was one of the things that pushed his mom away. jane was a busy woman. she worked at a law firm and often spent long hours there. benny worked as a chef at sal’s, his evenings spent behind the grill as he sipped on some concoction. the pair hadn’t known each other long before they got pregannt and then married, the falling out was inevitable. jensen was often left alone, forced to grow up too quickly as he looked out for himself and his friends. when jensen was thirteen, he shifted for the first time. not long after, his parents divorced. benny considered moving, but he had blake and sabrina and murphy to look out for on top of not wanting to uproot jensen once again during an already difficult time. jane moved north and jensen spent a month out of his summer there. he didn’t see his mom much else. jensen wasn’t one to hold grudges or get upset, he had a fairly calm demeanor, but he grew to resent his mother. she left him just as she left his father. despite this, he fought to not lose his cool. when murphy turned fifteen, he fell ill. he had always been sickly, but one day he’d fallen at school and hadn’t gotten back up. his lungs, it was determined, had gone to shit. copd, no cure. but ashton had one. when jensen had told him what was going on, ashton begged his father to turn the boy. when they came that summer, he did. murphy hadn’t handled the shifts well, so he stayed in jensen’s cellar on full moons. benny started to flirt with anne, a woman who worked at sal’s with him. when dining there with his father on the man’s day off, she would often sit with them and they’d share food and stories while jensen listened in. at fifteen, sabrina left the pack. she blamed ashton, but everyone knew it wasn’t just his fault. jensen took it hard, he’d been closer to her than either of the boys, but blake took it the hardest. he got his first girlfriend later that year, but it hadn’t worked out. his second girlfriend, willa, had lasted for nearly a year. at sixteen, with ashton’s pressuring, he lost his virginity to her. they broke up a month later, but it had been on decent terms. jensen hadn’t dated anyone since. he got his first job, working at the grocery store as a bagger. here, he often saw iris’ mother and they chatted as he helped her load the bags into her car. at seventeen, jensen got the phone call. his aunt and uncle were dead. ashton was moving in with him. he’d spent long hours talking to his cousin on the phone, doing all he could to console him. when ashton moved to california, jensen had been at his mother’s. she wouldn’t let him leave early, claiming she didn’t get enough time with him. they’d had a massive fight the night before he left, he hadn’t spoken to her since. she’d spent years neglecting him, pretending he didn’t exist outside of the one month he was there and then pulled that? he refused to answer her calls or texts. when he got back home, he was inseparable with ashton. he smothered the boy, much to ashton’s chagrin. benny quit his job at sal’s, ashton’s father had left him a chunk of their fortune and he used the free time to watch the boys and binge on drinks. just after halloween, they went to a party. there, he reconnected with iris. they shared memories and awkward conversation, but it had been pleasant enough. he realized then how much he had missed the girl–and, too his surprise, the he found her incredibly beautiful. as children, he hadn’t crushed on her, but now he couldn’t say the same. he’d left abruptly after ashton stormed out twenty or so minutes after being slapped by erin. two weeks after the party, he ran into jade after ashton kicked him out of the house. they made small talk as they helped each other shop. he realized that this was the girl with the twin that ashton had talked so much about. it gave him hope, thinking that maybe ashton was different now. his cousin’s treatment towards girls had always bothered him, but he couldn’t say anything about it. he hoped jade would change him. the beginning of december, he asked iris out. he hadn’t called it a date, but that’s what it had been. he’d taken her to sal’s for dinner. she met anne, who as far as he knew, his father still hadn’t properly moved forward with. they shared fries and sipped milkshakes before he took her to the winter fair. they held hands on rickety rides and he spent far too much money on winning her a massive stuffed bear, but it was worth it. just before her curfew, he walked her to her door. he hesitated for a mere moment before cupping her face in his hands and gently slotting his lips against hers. it was short and sweet and full of heart. he blushed the whole way home, refusing to answer ashton’s pestering as he all but darted to his room. the next day, he visited her with flowers, properly asking her to be his girlfriend. they spent the day at the park before he dropped her off back home. they’d gone on dates every weekend, but the night of their one month anniversary, he met her parents for the first time as her boyfriend. the evening had gone incredibly well. just before christmas, blake moved into his home. in january, after ashton finally asked jade out, jensen congratulated him. he and iris spent their free time together, going on dates and working on school work. they once went out with ashton and jade, and while it had been pleasant, they preferred to keep to themselves. in february, murphy moved into the cabin, bringing all of the boys in the pines’ pack under one roof. that just left one. nearing the end of winter, blake pulled up to the house around three in the morning with sabrina in tow. and like nothing happened, she was welcomed back. ashton even properly apologized. everything was going well for the first time in a long time. ashton was even getting along with erin. jensen purposefully chose not to look too closely into that. as september of 2018 rolled in, jensen was eager about his senior year, despite the recent slayings and rumors of a rogue pack. iris and him were going strong, but he hadn’t told her he was a werewolf yet. he knew she knew of them from being with jasper and through rose, but he couldn’t find it in him to spill that information. mulling over that inevitable conversation one night, he was startled from his thoughts by his phone ringing. sabrina. jade went after the rogue pack and was in the hospital. he barely made it out to ashton’s jeep before the boy left, banging on the window while his cousin sat in a daze. he didn’t remember the drive, just walking into the hospital and sitting next to sabrina. it seemed ashton truly did care for jade, they mulled over this fact as they watched ashton return to them after fifteen minutes in the room. the two waited for him to give them an update. the visuals home • a two-story, cabin styled home that rests on the border of the preserve. the closest neighbor is over a mile away, offering privacy to the small
