Christmas had been and gone, Jade had made it through the whole shopping nightmare and had ended up having a good time. She always enjoyed Christmas, had since she was little, being wrapped up in a blanket with Erin as they watched some dopey Christmas film or just stuffing their faces with too much chocolate- that's what she liked best. Not the chocolate necessarily but spending time with her sister. It was only the first day back after the Christmas holidays and you could tell, people were still wishing people a happy new year and giving late presents to their friends. Jade didn't have to go through that too much, there was only a small handful of people she'd formed any kind of bond with here despite the fact that here in Beacon Hills she was willing to become friends with people and not be worried that she'd move away from them someday because frankly, this Little was tired of moving.
Rolling up the sleeves of her sweater so they were about half way up her forearm, Jade's boots clipped against the linoleum floor before she headed down a flight of stairs. She'd just spent her morning frees in the library, catching up on some History reading she'd out off doing over the holidays. Science was more her cup of tea, she got that from her parents. To be honest she liked her science hod logic, how there was research and evidence to support what she was hearing because frankly how could you base a whole history off of some paintings found in a cave or something? Anyways... science beat history hands down in Jade's mind and the only reason she'd bothered doing the reading earlier was because she had history before lunch. By the time her history class ended and honestly the minutes seemed to drag by in that class, like, could the teacher make it anymore boring if he tried (probably, he probably could but at least she hadn't fallen asleep today) she was starving?
School dinners were by no means gourmet but Jade couldn't deal with waking up an extra five or ten minutes early to make herself a lunch to bring in. So she stuck with picking at the food and opting for fruit whenever she could, the kitchens here didn't seemed to ruin that at least- it was probably only a matter of time though. Sliding into a seat at the end of a table, Jade pulled out her phone and opened up a round of 2048 when she felt someone sit down across from her. Eyes flicking from her screen to the person, Jade offered them a smile, setting her phone on the table screen down.

Christmas had been a bust. His uncle had been wasted. A six pack guzzled before the Eve had ended, and when Jensen and Ashton finally roused themselves to face opening presents that had been purchased at discount, they walked into the living room to find the old drunk on the floor tangled in the Christmas tree he'd managed to have fall on him. The water in the basin holding the tree in place had spilled and drowned a good portion of the presents. What hadn't sustained water damage had been crushed by either the man or the tree. At that point, while Jensen was trying to get shards of a broken bulb out of his father's hand, Ashton had proceeded to sink to his knees and let out a heart wrenching sob. This wasn't right. It would never be right. This wasn't how it was supposed to be. His mother was supposed to have woken him that morning with a warm smile and a teasing 'Time to get up, sleeping beauty'. His father was meant to be clanging around in the kitchen, cursing as he burnt the pancakes and spilled the batter. There was meant to be a loud melody of laughter as the three opened gifts, curled around the fire and sharing tales from both two legs and four. Smiles, and sighs, and happy tears. It was a moment where they forgot who they were outside of their house. It was just them.
It was Ashton’s first Christmas without his parents. It was when he finally shattered. All the pent up emotions drained on the floor just like his uncle. Just like the tree’s water. Jensen had quickly left his father’s side to console his sobbing cousin, a look of utter distress on his face because things weren’t going the way he’d planned either. He’d set out for Christmas to be the day he finally made Ashton feel at home, that he still had family, but things just never seem to go as planned.
So yeah, not exactly the best winter break of his life. Once the tears dried up, Ashton did nothing more than lock himself in his room and refuse to speak a word for the following days- more than glad that he had hoarded food in a desk draw so he wouldn’t have to face the world until his stash ran dry.
He’d seen better days.
But that was behind him no. Dust in the wind or however that saying goes (and he felt like he should know, seemed like a Texan thing to say, after all). Break was over, and Ashton had to suffer through another semester of school before he was free to do whatever he wanted. Advantages of being a senior, he supposed. Freedom. From what, he wasn’t sure. It wasn’t like he had much to run from, and what he did, well, it simply wasn’t something hightailing it to college would get rid of. The grief? The alpha in him? Yeah, no. He was stuck with that for good.
None of his classes so far had been notable. Erin ignored him in class, which he expected, and other than minor teasings as he tried to find himself again through a good joke, nothing had really caught his attention. By the time lunch rolled by, Ashton was more than relieved to finally have a moment to just breathe and not be smothered by a pile of ‘welcome back, I hate my job’ homework.
And that’s when he saw her. Tray in hand, because no, he was not letting Jensen pack him a lunch, Ashton’s gaze fell upon an all too familiar face. Jade. Heaven sent. She’d get him out of this funk- not that he’d ever let on that he was anything but chipper. Even steps took him to the seat across from her, and he couldn’t help but grin as she set her phone down and beamed right back up at him. After their ‘burrito date’ at the mall, he’d taken to seeking her out and joining her at lunch daily- part of his plan. Establish trust, then go in for the kill. He felt like today may be the day.
“You miss me?” Was his greeting, a wink sent her way as he settled into his seat and took a bite out of what was meant to be a slice of pizza, but he was fairly sure it was just cardboard. School food, just glorious.

Ah, Ashton, Jade’s smile became genuine, flickering across her face until like a dodgy light it finally pulsed into full wattage. She’d meant to contact him over the holidays but had mulled over the action a bit too much until she’d come up with too many scenarios as to how that situation could end up and had eventually chosen to only send him a quick ‘merry Christmas!’ on Christmas morning and a classic ‘happy new year’ at midnight (although she’d also sent that one to Jensen so, didn’t matter too much, right?). The only reason as to why Jade had pushed through to midnight on new tears eve was so that she could catch a glimpse of some fireworks. She loved them, the power they released, the colours, the sound, it was all so addicting to her and she could watch them explode for hours.
Jade contemplated his question for about 0.1 seconds in her head, yes of course she missed him- that’s why she’d debated sending him some dumb message for the majority of the holidays because she couldn’t shake him from her mind and the girl was still struggling to get over this complete girlish crush that she had on him. Externally though, Jade tried to play it cool, tossing her hair over her shoulder and offering him a small shrug although the whole act was ruined by the grin on her face. “I might have done. You know, just a little bit if I really thought about it.” Jade replied eyes meeting his with ease although it still sent her stomach into cartwheels. Frankly she was still struggling to comprehend with the fact that he chose to eat lunch with her of all people, not that she was complaining- nah, she’d never complain about that.
Picking at her lunch, Jade swallowed down a grape before beginning to speak again, “how was your break?” Jade asked just out of politeness, seemed like the natural course for the conversation to go down and one which hopefully she wouldn’t lose her chill over. Hopefully.

There it was. That spark, that light that blinded Ashton’s world- washing out all of the dark corners and promptly distracting him from how terrible the past few weeks had been. He knew he stuck with Jade for a reason, more than just for a pretty face- more than just a game. As much as Ashton didn’t want to admit it, over the months that they’d become friends (a word he used sparingly, mind you), he knew that this was more than just something to fill his time. He cared for Jade, not that he’d ever say it out loud, but he did. He liked having her around, hearing her laugh and just, in all, being beside her. She genuinely seemed to enjoy his company, and he knew that very few people did. It made her special. It almost made him feel guilty about what he’d done with Erin, with what he was going to do to Jade. Almost. He was still Ashton after all, a little emotion wasn’t about to knock him down from his master plan. He wanted Jade, just as much as he wanted Erin. He’d get one of them- he was just still working out the kinks in that plan.
Still, he knew she deserved better- that he was being selfish, but how could he not be? While he was bawling his eyes out over how pitiful his life was in all actuality, she had still acknowledged him- had taken time out of her Christmas morning to text him, and then once again on New Year’s as he watched the fireworks light up the sky from his perch on the cabin’s roofing. Jensen had been keeping an eye on his dad, making sure the man didn’t go overboard once more with the liquor and Ashton had taken the short reprieve from his cousin’s watchful eye to sneak out and just indulge himself in the simplicity of watching the sky dance with colors. No lady on his arm, no lips pressed to his- just the cold tiling beneath him and the open sky. It was the first New Year’s he’d ever spent alone. Knocked things even further into perspective. Maybe he should change. Maybe, but not now.
Ashton couldn’t help but grin at her answer, preening under the attention, because even if her words denied it, the look on her face made it more than clear just how much he’d been on her mind over the break. He laid on the charm thick as he leaned forward, pizza forgotten as he propped his head up on his elbow, eyes never leaving Jade’s face as he replied dutifully, “It was fine.” It was a lie. He didn’t go into detail. “Thought about you a lot- was really boring without someone there to always laugh at my jokes,” all he got out of Jensen was an eye roll, his uncle was too drunk to even comprehend the words leaving his mouth. So that bit wasn’t a lie, he had missed having one of the Little’s around, Jade just happened to be the one listening to him right now.

Watching Ashton sat across from her, Jade couldn't help but wish she could see and understand his thoughts. If she knew what he was thinking when he was sat here with her, maybe Jade could just chill out a bit and go with the flow. Ha. Yeah, right that was not going to happen, was it? What would she want him to be thinking though? Did she want him to be thinking 'oh, Jade, I'd just love to kiss you right here right now' or did she want a more classic approach like 'hey, Jade, I've been thinking that we should go and get dinner sometime- like a date.' Both options would be fine with Jade (okay maybe she'd be a bit apprehensive about the first given that they were in the school's cafeteria), she just wished he'd say something or ask her something about how she felt. Would she do something though if he asked? Ha, no; this is Jade we're talking about, she'd turn into a blushing giggling mess and then have to find a reason to leave.
All 'woe is me' thoughts aside, Jade was just glad to have Ashton sat back down here across from her and she knew it must show on her face, from the way her eyes lit up and sparkled more when he was around and how her cheeks were a permanent pink just from one look at her. Yeah, she'd got a crush and she'd got it bad (someone help her, seriously).
Oh, here he was, leaning towards her and there her cheeks went, burning up again (seriously, for the love of God, get a chill, please) but she leaned forward too, an elf-like grin on her face. Her natural instinct was to laugh at the joke but she forced herself to keep her face a picture of steel, no emotion, not even a small smile. This lasted for about 5 seconds during which Jade wondered if she should take acting lessons to try and keep her emotions in check just a little bit. "I find most things funny though, don't flatter yourself too much." Jade teased, head tilting to the side as she reached out and poked him lightly on the nose (a brave move for her, trust).

Ashton was a man of manners. Perfect etiquette and polite ways. That's why he went cross-eyed as he followed the girl's finger, solely focused on where it was aiming and huffing out a laugh as he was booped. Jade booped him. That first bit was an absolute lie, but, well, he liked to pretend that is some world he was rich trash with forks for every other meat. Not in this life, sadly, but he figured he'd get by with cross-eyes and easy smirks. He hoped, at least. He's been doing well so far. Ashton didn't have manners, but he did have a few tricks up his sleeves.
Drowning in charm and forever casting flirty grins any pretty girls way. It just happened to be Jade's lucky day (ignore previous gushing of feelings, it was easier to ignore anything honest to get what he wanted). So while he did quite like Jade, he had other plans in mind. Things that didn't include taking his sweet time and prolonging this little game. They'd danced each other for long enough. It was time for Ashton to attack his prey.
In a perfect world, he'd have been all bashful grins and pink cheeks, like Jensen, but it wasn't quite like that.
Ashton leaned forward a bit further, grinning devilishly as he purred, "Am I flattering myself too much by thinking I have a chance with you?" His wide green eyes filled with innocence, looking so wrong on his face as his lips curled in tighter- he already knew the answer even as he said, "Go out with me, Ms. Little."
It had been a long time coming, and he'd had other plans as to how he'd wanted to ask her, but now felt right. He couldn't wait any longer.
Jade had to be his.

Her finger retreated just as he leaned forward and she was glad it had cause otherwise it was likely to have just ended up in his eye out of shock. She stopped breathing for a moment, everything about her freezing as she just stared at him in shock. She was shook. Just a minute or so before she'd been wishing for this scenario to occur but as predicted, now that it was here, she didn't know what to do or what to say. She wanted to play it cool but she'd never been good at that and he'd just be able to see right through it. In the end though, that was the tactic she went for. "Yeah, you're just flattering yourself, buddy." She told him, composing a straighter face than she'd predicted she'd be able to. Looking away from his face for a second though, her composure broke and she turned back to him, a grin on her face.
"I was beginning to think you'd never ask," she said with a small laugh, leaning towards him without even realising it. "So yes, I will go out with you, Mr Pines." It felt so funny to say, a situation she'd imagined time and time again was finally here and she was struggling to believe it. There was a part of her that was scared though, like this was a commitment which wouldn't be easy to run away from because her heart was already in it. Her heart had been in it since the moment they'd bumped into each other at the mall.
(This is really short but it's cute so that makes up for it<3)

]As soon as the words left his mouth, Ashton couldn't keep the silly grin off his lips. He knew he had her, wrapped around his little finger and he hoped she thought she had him the same way. It was easier that way, letting her think she had control when he was really the one pulling the strings. Though, if he was honest (which is rarely, mind you), he didn't have many strings to pull. Jade was so easy to be around, so enthusiastic about any time she got to spend at his side that it made it hard for him to be manipulative. She made him not want to be. She made him want to try. To take her out on dates and spoil her and all of these feelings he's never felt before because he's never cared enough to. All of his past experiences had been quick flings, seeking pleasure and not comfort. He'd never had a God honest girlfriend, never had someone he settled down with- just girls he'd settled down on his lap. Jensen had warned him that it wasn't the way to live, and had even further pressured that fact after he'd met Jade himself.
Ashton didn't know what it was about this girl, but she had him hanging on the tip of her tongue- knowing she'd say yes, but a part of him worried. He'd never worried before. Maybe it was guilt twisting his stomach- his lust for her twin clouding his judgement- or just that he was genuinely drawn to the bubbly, fidgety girl, but he was definitely feeling something. He could smell her excitement, that silently giving away her forced composure.
He smirked, lazy and smooth as her facade cracked and her eagerness bled through. This was what he'd been looking for, what he knew he'd achieve. Ashton would have leaned back and played it cool, but he only inched forward, eyes dropping to her lips as he whispered- alluding privacy, "Was just waiting for the right moment, baby, but I couldn't wait anymore." He pulled back then, a mischievous glint to his emerald eyes as he rested his arms across his broad chest and purred, "But I think I can wait to kiss you. Pretty girl like you deserves something special. Cafeteria won't cut it. So how about you lemme take you out tonight?" Smooth. This wasn't his first rodeo.

Baby. Jade was beginning to get lost in the green of his eyes (his favourite colour, she knew) just as he pulled back and grinned at her. Leaning back herself, Jade couldn't keep the smile off of her face. "Well, I'm glad you're not waiting anymore." Boy was this going to be a fun conversation to have with Erin. Jade had never really been in this situation before, sure she'd had boyfriends (not very long) and crushes (mostly on celebrities because the girl had fallen in love with Troy Bolton from a young age, don't judge) in the past, but none like this. She'd never met or been with anyone like Ashton and the newness and excitement of it all was intoxicating.
His next line made her blush, cheeks pinkening as she lowered her gaze to the table in front of them before peering back up at him through her lashes. He might be mister smooth but she could play coy as well as any Disney princess. The whole trying to be shy act couldn't last for long though when it was Jade in question as very quickly she was off babbling, "sure, I mean, yes, I will allow you to take me out tonight." Pushing her hair back on her head away from her face, Jade watched Ashton carefully, there was a part of her that was concerned that this was all going to be a joke. That he was going to turn around and say that he was just kidding but that it was nice to know she liked him. "Are you sure though? That you want to take me out?" Oh had she seriously just done that? Had she just voiced her doubts when he probably didn't need to know them. Actually he most definitely didn't need to know them. Reaching up with her hands she brushed them over her cheeks before resting them on her jawline, feeling like she'd just made an idiot of herself for just asking a question. It just felt so weird to be chosen, to be wanted by someone she'd never imagined she could have.

Feelings. Emotions. Other synonyms for the butterflies fluttering around in his stomach as he let his eyes dance across Jade's soft features, for the way his heart stuttered in his chest as she flushed pink and glanced away. Cute. She was just so damn cute, but even Ashton knew there was more to it than just her pretty face. A lot of girls had given him chase, made him work for it- and he had, entertained them by trotting after their skirt, but it wasn't like that with Jade. He wasn't aiming to land her in his bed, or her bed, or any bed. Aside from his feelings, however raunchy they were, towards Erin, Ashton had no malicious intents towards Jade. Nothing sexual or for a good laugh. He genuinely just wanted to be with her, call her his, and that freaked him out more than anything. It made Erin sound more appealing because he understood that.
But that was the last thing on his mind.
As Jade glanced back up at him through the thick of her lashes, something in his chest stirred- which was weird, because that sort of look made his dick stir, but, well, this look was too innocent. It was too damn stuffed with emotion for him to even think that far ahead- or down, rather. He didn't have to think on it long, a grin easily stealing his awed features as he chuckled at her babbling. He hadn't doubted that she'd agree, but it made his sigh in relief nonetheless to actually hear the words. "I was going to show up even if you'd said no," he teased, but his smile quickly faded as concern, confusion crossed his features. When he asked someone out, the insecurity bleeding off of the girl wasn't normally the reaction he'd get. It was the exact opposite, the girls flushing with pride as he acknowledged them. But here Jade was, a walking contradiction of everything Ashton went after, worried that he didn't really mean it. She wasn't wrong in asking. The majority of the time, he didn't. But right now? With Jade? He meant it. Every inch of him yearned to claim her as his, and not even in the fun way- though he did plan to get to that eventually.
He reached out without thinking, stealing her hands away from her face and cradling them in his own as he leaned forward and whispered privately, "You, Jade. I want you. No jokes or games. I really want to take you out on a date, and then, you know- hold your hand and kiss you silly and force you to wear a gold chain with my name on it and then eventually get my name tattoed on your ass because it's mine," he rambled on, teasing near the end to get a smile back on her lips- surprised that even among the joking, he meant it. He smirked then, tangling their fingers together as he added, "I wanna give you piggyback rides across campus. I want your pictures on my walls and on my phone. I want little notes because you're sappy and would leave them in my lunches." The more cliche he got, the more he realized that's what he wanted.
Ashton just wanted Jade.

Her heart kicked when he said he would have turned up anyway. She felt like she was glowing both inside and out. For her this was the conversation she'd been imagining for weeks, months and it was finally here and she just wanted to savour it. Frankly if she could have gotten out a notebook and started scribbling down everything single thing he was saying to her, she was have. "I mean, I think my mum would have happily taken you up on the date if I hadn't." Although Mrs Little was happily married to, well you guessed it, Mr Little, Jade wouldn't have been surprised if she'd agree to go out with Ashton. After all, he was incredibly pretty to look at.
She could see the confusion crossing his features, it was so obvious that this wasn't the normal response and if anything that made her feel worse. She should have been feeling excited and of course she was but it was being hidden and pushed away by this growing feeling of doubt clogging up all happy thoughts and feelings in her body.
A moment later though her hands were being taken from her face and she didn't even have time to blush, she was so captured by the feeling of her hands in his. They felt safe there, protected. She leant forward towards him to help bridge the distance between them and so that she could hear him better over the usual background noise of the cafeteria. Okay now she definitely wanted to start making notes on what he was saying. She wanted to hold him to these things, to guarantee that they would happen because they sounded like everything she'd ever wanted. He was everything she'd ever wanted and as he continued to speak she felt her worry slip away and her smile come back. "If I get your name tattooed on my ass, you have to do the same." Jade teased back, she'd caught onto his rambling and was finding it quite impressive, very much like her own rambling.
The feeling of his fingers slipping between her own, fitting there just as if that's where they'd always belonged warmed Jade from head to toe. So this was how it was meant to feel. A feeling like you were holding onto something of endless happiness and reward. "That is true, I would leave you notes, maybe I'd even sneak into the boys bathroom to write you some sappy message there." Jade squeezed his hand looking into his green eyes and knowing that this was not only what she wanted but what he wanted, too.

A quirky grin stretched across Ashton's lips, a surprised twinkle in his eyes as he managed to scoff a bit at that. This girl kept catching him off guard, making him pause for a second to register what she'd said. His lips easily curled into a dark smirk as he teased back, "I bet she would have," he puffed his chest out a bit, pursing his lips and making a 'sexy' face as he finished, "I'm quite charming." He couldn't keep up the act, giggling under his breath as he shook his head and let his easy smile return to his lips. It was so simple talking to Jade. No games to keep up, no lies to spill. Not now, at least. He didn't feel the least bit guilty as he dragged his thumb across the back of her hand, soothing her.
He could see her brain working behind those ever changing eyes. Sometimes blue. Sometimes a soft hazel. Ashton often found himself getting lost in them, as sappy as that was and he'd never admit it, as she talked on and on about something she so obviously cared about. Jade just had this life about her, something that Ashton wanted to claim as his own. His life had been so dark recently, he just wanted a little light.
"Well, duh. 'JA' on one cheek, 'DE' on the other. I've thought about this quite a bit," Ashton dragged on, playing off the smile on her lips. The worry was slowly ebbing, so he didn't let up, "I think Comic Sans would fit the mood perfectly, right?" He could only imagine, Jade's name printed onto his skin for eternity. He couldn't say he didn't see this coming. He'd always imagined he'd get some girl's name engraved on his skin, but he'd always seen it as a drunk profession of love and not simple talk before he'd even gone on the first date. This wasn't what Ashton did, he was quick fucks and erased numbers, he wasn't promises and genuine smiles. He wanted to run, but for whatever reason, he stayed.
Ashton found himself smirking again as she continued to ramble on about what they'd do, barely holding back a laugh as he purred, "Guess I'd have to one up you by doing naughty things to you in the girls bathroom, eh?" He didn't know what Jade was ready for. She was more than a blushing virgin, but that didn't sway his train of thought. Ashton couldn't wait for this fairytale. No matter how short lived it was, he wanted it.
Felt guilty for dragging Jade into it.
He squeezed her hand once more, bringing it to his lips so he could kiss at her knuckles softly. Like a true romantic.

Jade's gaze flitted from their hands to Ashton's face as she noted his 'sexy face' which made him look more cute for trying than anything else. "I think you end up simply charming yourself more so than other people. After all, when we first met you crashed into me," or had she crashed into him? She couldn't quite remember the exact details, only the fact that crashing together had been involved. What an impression she must have made. "And surprisingly even I didn't find that particularly charming." She'd probably sworn at him when that had happened, she was slowly beginning to lose that habit of just vocalizing expletives but occasionally one would pop out. Rarely around Ashton though.
"You have obviously put a lot of thought into this tattoo but if you get it done in comic sans so help me I would," wait what would she actually do? Never look at his ass again? Never speak to him again? Both of those things were out of the question because 1) he had a very cute butt and 2) talking to him made her the happiest she could imagine being. Yeah she was soft and sappy but who wouldn't be? "I think if I got your name tattooed, I'd simply removed the 'h' and add another 's'." Jade smirked, her mind momentarily thinking back to Erin who Jade had heard refer to Ashton as Asston on maybe more than one occasion. It would fit though, to have that on Jade's actual ass.
His next comment pulled her up short, her eyes widen and all she could do was let out one singular laugh as she just waited for her cheeks to blush but amazingly they didn't, seemed she'd already blushed enough today as it was. "I think I'll let you know about any bathroom shenanigans after our date tonight." Jade teased although internally was chastising herself slightly for actually using the word 'shenanigans' in a sentence like a 50 year old woman. The idea however did set her heart racing and she couldn't help but wonder what 'naughty things' would entail.
Man she had it bad.
His lips against her knuckles made her smile up at him and she vowed in her head to never wash that hand again. It was then that the bell rang and Jade's feeling of being in a private happy bubble with Ashton began to deflate slightly before she remembered that they had a date, tonight. Tonight she would be going out with Ashton on a real life date. "So... I'll see you tonight?"

"Not ah, sweet cheeks, you totally crashed into me," Ashton shot back, not missing a beat. It was constant banter between the two of them, and endless round of who did what. He would forever insist that she ran into him because he was just so god damn distracting with his emerald eyes and pearly whites while she would beg to differ, saying he walked into her because he couldn't focus on anything but boobs. She wasn't wrong, but still, she totally ran into him. He scoffed then, rolling his eyes fondly as he teased, "Sure you did," he leaned forward a bit as he let the cliche roll off of his tongue and into the minty air before him, "Because even if you didn't land on your ass, you still fell for me." He winked then, settling down in his seat as he popped his gum. Maybe a little cocky, but he felt he had the right to be. Jade said yes, she was his now.
His lips curled into a lewd smirk as he listened to her go on about the tattoo, propping his head up in the palm of his hand- elbow perched on the table. Comic Sans had been a joke, but if it got her flustered like that, than maybe he'd invest in something with the font on it and spoil her with it. A laugh stole his silence as she went on about changing the lettering of his name. Ashton knew where she got the idea from, his lips curling into a dark smile as he recalled Erin calling him that personally more than once- enough for him to make it his Instagram name just to piss her off. "Clever," he commented anyways, liking that Jade had mentioned it because he hadn't thought of it. Would have been a missed opportunity. "I could add 'Little', but my ass isn't small, is it baby?" He batted his lashes in another wink then, grinning from ear to ear as he shifted in his seat- definitely not testing to see how large his rear end actually was. He'd never do that.
Ashton couldn't wait for their date, and god was that weird to even think about. He'd always been about quick fucks and convenient girlfriends. Actually wanting to head out for the evening was odd enough, even more so as she used the word 'shenanigans'. Jade wasn't his type, but he craved her so much. More than he was willing to admit, but it did make it easier to say, "You can take your time on that, Jade. Not rushing you on anything." And that... was a miracle in itself. He wanted Jade underneath him, bare as he ravaged her virgin(?) body, but for the first time in his life, he was willing to wait. It was something about Jade that made him crave, the same what Erin had him starving. The contrast was exhilarating, making it hard to not want both. So while the words surprised even him, he found he meant it. He wouldn't force Jade into anything, but only because he knew he could be tamed by her twin.
Shaking those thoughts as the bell rang, Ashton reluctantly let Jade's hand fall from his as he rose and tossed his backpack over his shoulder. "Seven o'clock, sharp, Ms. Little," Dean said in an overtly proper tone, flashing those pearly whites as Jade as he offered his arm and offered, "I'll walk you to class?" He'd probably be late, but it wouldn't be the first time.

“Well, I have eyes so if I crashed into you- you must have been stood in the way!” Jade shot back, raising her right hand as if to say ‘can you believe this guy’. Because she couldn’t. Couldn’t believe he wanted her. If this had been a couple of years ago, before she’d met her last douchebag boyfriend, she would have believed him. But being told that you’d only been given the ‘girlfriend’ label in hopes for him to have a better chance at sleeping with you, well, it kind of stings. As you can probably imagine- that relationship didn’t last long after she’d found that out. “Fell for you because you tripped me up.” She replied, picking up on his overly cocky attitude.
Baby. Baby. The word ran around her head, sending a message to her stomach to release about 20 flocks of butterflies, wait, did you get flocks of butterflies? Jade needed to look that up later. In truth, Jade knew full well that it wasn’t small. She’d stood behind him enough times and eyes do wonder. She could hardly admit that though, could she? Like, oh yeah, can’t wait for our date later where I can admit to every vaguely stalkery thing I’ve ever noticed about you. Knowing Jade… she’d probably say it all at some point anyway.
A smile settled onto Jade’s face when Ashton spoke next. He couldn’t understand how much that meant to her. How after being messed around before, those words sounded like the best gift a man could offer. Did she say thank you? Did she say anything or did she just continue smiling? So many questions, such unexplored territory and honestly, Jade couldn’t wait.
Seven felt like days away- not just hours and Jade knew that once she got home she’d be counting down the minutes until the hour arrived. “Seven sounds great, Mr Pines.” Jade replied before taking Ashton’s arm. Jade knew that taking his offer to walk her to class would probably result in him being late for his own but she couldn’t resist. “Sure, I have English Lit.” Jade said, cocking her head towards the set of doors that would send them off in the right direction.
