It was the last day of term, and Beacon Hills had officially broken up for Christmas break, which Lottie was very excited for. Christmas was, by far, her favourite holiday-there was such a cheer in the air, and she had an excuse to spend stupid amounts of money on stupid things, which was also one of her favourite things. Her dad and Tyler weren't back home yet- her dad was coming back from his buisness trip tomorrow evening and Tyler the day after, so the house wasn't Christmas-y yet, as they always decorated together, but she thought since no one else was around yet she would get her #squad round for a sleep over and secret santa presents. She'd, thankfully, gotten Jamie, and was really excited about what she'd gotten her. Firstly she'd filled up about half a scrap book with pictures and notes and memories of their friendship because she was a soppy little shit at heart, then she'd gotten a pretty necklace with a fox on it, as a little reference to her kitsune side. She wanted something that added water in too, but sh couldn't find anything, but oh well. Levi was still in Vegas, and would be for who knew how long, so she couldn't come, which Lottie was pretty upset about, but she still had Jamie, Willow, and Sophie, which made up for it. Sophie was the newest addition to their little group, but they'd all taken to her really quickly- it was like she was meant to be there all along. Lottie had been sorta friends with her before, through Levi, but recently they'd grown closer, and Lottie loved the girl now. Willow had been their friend for nearly a year now, maybe more, and Lottie adored the dorky little Brit. Despite their strange meeting, they'd taken to each other pretty quickly after that, and soon her, Jamie, Levi, and Willow were hanging out whenever they could. The girls were meant to be arriving soon, so Lottie was pottering around while she waited, trying to kill time. Words: 343 || Notes: my fave girls<33

You want to know a secret? Jamie wasn't a fan of Christmas. Shocking, right? Trust me, she'd tried to enjoy it, tried to get into the spirit every single year but maybe it was the whole old guy in a red suit or songs with jingle bells in them but Jamie couldn't get behind the idea. Maybe she was just too cynical to enjoy it, yeah, lets go with that. So this was where Jamie and Lottie were complete opposites but Jamie wasn't going to refuse giving gifts (or rather getting gifts...) so she'd bought into the whole secret santa idea and was Willow's secret santa gal. So, Jamie had found a website which would ship English food products to her doorstop and had ordered Willow some Haribo and Walker's crisps- they seemed to be popular. Along with that she'd bought her a snow globe with the scene from Titanic with Rose and Jack doing the whole flying thing, something she knew the girl loved.
When it came to sleepover's Jamie was nearly always tempted to just turn up in her pajamas but restrained from that today and chose the slightly more formal options of jeans and a hoodie. To top off the look she'd asked Rose is she had a santa hat and lo and behold she did she Jamie was wearing the bright red, floppy monstrosity on top of her head as she turned up, sleepover stuff and secret santa gifts in bags in her hands as she knocked on the door.

alright, alright 546
How had she gotten so lucky? She’d been so pessimistic, so bitter about the move last year, but now? God, how could she have ever expected things to take such a turn for the better? A chance encounter in the woods had opened a door she could have never dreamt was even there. It started with Lottie, who then brought her to Jamie, then Levi, and somehow Willow herself had managed to bring Sophie into the small group. It was nice. She wasn’t sure who had coined it, the majority of them enjoyed Marina’s music, but somehow it came about that they were the Lonely Hearts Club. It fit. She finally belonged- even back in England, things were never nice. She’d never felt so welcome. Sometimes she caught herself in awe. Mouth curved into a soft smile as she watched them all interact, making memories she’d treasure for years to come. Tonight would be one of those. A Christmas themed sleepover, and since Leon had one the year before with his friend (Rose, that is not a topic she had time to explain), she figured it was her turn. Willow was a bit bummed out to learn that Levi wouldn’t be there, but she’d never been as close to her as the others- probably an extension of her dislike of her brother and how he’d treated Leon the only time the pair had interacted. She didn’t hold that against Levi, of course, but if there was ever a reason to explain why she got along better with Lottie than Levi, she figured that’d have to be it. The whole ‘Secret Santa’ thing was something she struggled with. She barely knew what she wanted for herself, how was she supposed to buy something for Sophie, someone she’d only known for a few months? Willow think she did well, getting the blonde a Titanic t-shirt, just because she couldn’t not, a necklace with a piano charm, and a music book with that contained some of James Newton Howard’s music- because what she did know was that Sophie loved the piano. In reality, she may have spent a tad too much, but oh well. With the gifts wrapped and stashed in her bag, alongside everything she’d need for the sleepover, she made her way over to Lottie’s house. As she pulled up, she spotted Jamie at the door. Smirking at her timing, she leaned over to give Leon the best hug she could manage over the car’s console and thanked him for driving her before hopping out and making her to the door. “Hey,” she said around a grin as she came up to Jamie’s side, her red skirt flaring out a bit as she turned to see if Leon had pulled off yet or not. No truck, he’d gotten out of here fast then. She chuckled softly to herself, shaking her head at her brother before returning her attention to the red-head, “Lottie’s taking her time, huh?” She nudged her side jokingly, eyes flickering up as something even more vibrant than her hair caught her attention. She shook her head again, smirking as she said, “Nice hat. Very festive.” don't threaten me with a good time

For a final touch to the house before her buddy pals got there, Lottie stuck a badly drawn Christmas tree to the wall and stuck Jamie's present under there, since the Bennett house didn't have an actual Christmas tree up yet. Sticking some paper to the wall shouldn't have been a difficult task, but when you could find where you put the blue tack or the sellotape it made the task a lot more difficult then it had to be. After searching everywhere she thought one of them might be she still couldn't find it, so she gave up and got duct tape.
Basically, as Chtistmas decorations Lottie had a shit, drawn christmas tree stuck to the wall with duct tape. Merry Christmas.
When she was trying to sort out sticking the picture to the wall, which was very difficult to do when you kept getting the tape stuck in your hair or you managed to make it stick to it's self she heard the first knock at the door. "Shit" She muttered, unsure of whether to answer the door or stick the picture up first. For reasons unknown to even herself, she decided ignoring her friend who was probably very cold while waiting outside was the best idea, and instead she yanked off a long piece of the silver tape and stuck it to the wall, no questions asked. Even when it tried to stick to her and to it's self again, she didn't let it, and instead jammed it wonkely to the wall. Done.
Lottie then ran over the the door, strip of mashed up duct tape in her hair and all, to open the door to whoever was on the other side. Surprisingly, she found both Jamie and Willow, when she'd only expected Jamie OR Willow, or maybe Sophie. Still, she grinned, happy to see them both and let them in with a little apology "Sorry. I was decoration" She said, waving her arm over to the picture on the wall, which she could no see was lop sided. Oh well. She tried.

Sophie had gotten caught up talking to her parents about timings and what not, they'd been paranoid with where she was and if she'd been travelling at night ever since Lily had been killed. You couldn't blame them for their worry; they had lost their daughter after all.
The girl was on her way now though, her dad giving her a lift as Sophie sang off key to a song on the radio, humming along to the parts she didn't know. Her blonde hair kept falling into her face thanks to some head-bangs at the key moments in the song but hey, it was a good jam. Pulling up at Lottie's, Sophie just caught sight of the door shutting. Okay, so clearly she wasn't that late.
Grabbing the gift bag with Lottie's presents in, Sophie pressed a kiss to her dad's cheek before pushing open the door, a backpack of sleepover gear shoved against her back. She'd been stumped with what to get her friend at first so had sought out Jamie with some pointers in the right direction. She'd managed to find a book online of ballet costumes through the ages; tying two of Lottie's passions into one. On top of that she'd invested in some Mac lipstick for her and a bar of chocolate for good measure.
Knocking on the door, Sophie bounced up on her toes, keen to get inside and see her friends. How her life had changed so suddenly, a month or so ago she'd stumbled upon Willow and the girl had saved her from what could probably have been a very dark hole she was beginning to fall down.

alright, alright 301
Not even the hand quickly pressed against her lips could properly muffle the laugh that boomed off her lips as she took in Lottie’s ruffled state- the tape tangled in her hair and the quick pants falling from her mouth as though she’d just ran, which she probably had to get the door and all. It was just too funny for her to not make an outburst, though she felt bad a moment later as she stepped into the house and took note of the rushed decorating. It was clear that the blonde had clearly made an effort, and Willow knew just how busy her family had been recently and how important this holiday was to her family, so she set her bag down and smiled softly up at the girl as she complimented, “Well, the house looks lovely,” and then, jokingly, “You did a much better job than my brother. You should see the tree,” she lifted her arm and tilted it to the side, “Lopsided, didn’t realize he had to spread the ornaments.” Leon had been mindlessly shoving things onto branches, too distracted with texting Rose to pay attention to what he was actually doing. Typical, nowadays.
But before she could say as much, there was another knock on the door and she was quick to say, “I’ll get it.”
Low and behold, Sophie. Willow held the door open for her, a grin large on her lips as she took in the sight of the newest addition. “Just in time,” she said, glancing back at the other two as the tapered down her excitement before meeting Sophie’s eyes once more, “Come in, come in!”
So much for calming. Willow could barely remember ever being this perky. Christmas, man. It did things to a girl.
