| Busy, busy, busy. Both Rose and Iris had found themselves really busy recently with school, family and just lives in general. Rose had decided to try harder with school this year and she'd been made an aunt out of the blue, so really most of the busyness had been on Rose's side, but whatever. They still hadn't seen much of each other in the last few weeks, and Iris was really missing their time together. So, since it was coming up to Christmas and it seemed a good a time as any, Iris kicked her parents out of the house and invited Rose round (well, invited wasn't really the right word-more like force her with the threat of death if she didn't comply) so they could watch movies, stuff their faces, gossip and exchange gifts. Quite a lot had happened since Iris and Rose had actually had time to talk outside of school- there was now a new baby in apt he Harper family, Iris had had her date with Jensen... Well, really, that was about it, but it was still a lot to talk about when you broke it down. Iris' house was all dolled up with Christmas decorations, and she was chilling on the sofa, watching some random crappy show on TV while she waited for Rose to turn up. Her face was without make up, and she was wearing old clothes- a baggy jumper and jeans with fluffy socks because, really, was it a lazy best friend day if you didn't look like a hobo? WORDS: 258 |

To say Rose had been surprised by her life was an understatement. She was an aunt, had been for months but had had no idea, much like Alex who was an actual dad now. He was trying but she could see it taking his toll on him, the late nights and complete suddenness of it all. Her grades had been improving thanks to her own sudden bout of motivation and some of Leon's patience. Leon was a niggling thought in the back of her mind, him and Liam names constantly going back and forth in her mind for reasons she struggled to think about. Through it all though, Rose knew she'd been out of touch with Iris is a way she shouldn't have been. Iris was her best friends; flowers gotta stick together and all that.
Her mum was giving her a lift, under Rose's foot was a baby toy, it was amazing how such a small human had managed to take over the Harper's lives so quickly. Rocking up at the Weetas' Rose grabbed Iris's gift, kissed her mum on the cheek and hopped out of the car. Rose was in her standard uniform of black jeans with a baggy t-shirt to match, hair pulled up into a ponytail. There was no need to dress up for Iris. Knocking on the door, Rose took a moment to glance down the street as her mum pulled away.

| Stupidly, the knock at the door did actually make Iris jump. She rolled her eyes at herself as she stood up, since she knew Rose was meant to be knocking on the door, and even if it wasn't Rose knocking, she should have expected the sound. She padded over to the door, and swung it open, grinning at who she saw in front of her. "Rose!" She exclaimed, grabbing hold of the girls wrist and dragging her inside, kicking the door shut behind her. She let go of Rose pretty quickly, realising she probably looked like some kind of kidnapper or something, then slumped back down on the sofa. "I literally feel like i haven't seen you in ages, how's life been?" She asked. She knew the basics, but she wanted more of the details of what was going on in her life, since that was one of the main reasons she'd actually invited rose around. Well, at least Iris was happy to see her. Stepping (perhaps not voluntarily) through the door to avoid falling over Rose grinned at Iris glad that she was about to get some girl time with her number one gal. Following Iris into her lounge, Rose dropped Iris present onto the floor, pulled off her shoes and sat down with a content sigh. "That's because we haven't spent quality time with each other in so long!" Rose reminded her with a giggle, head tilting towards Iris.
Where to begin? What to tell her first and what not to tell her at all? Obviously Rose wouldn't purposefully miss out important details but she didn't want to bombard Iris with information she didn't need or want. "Well, okay, so." Wow great start there Rose. "As you know Liam is still MIA and is either dead or you know, ignoring me completely." Don't get her wrong, Rose didn't want her boyfriend to be dead but at least it would explain why he wasn't responding to her at all. "So, obviously I'm bummed about that and don't really know what I should do when it comes to him- when it comes to us." Pulling a cushion to her chest, Rose hugged it wondering if she should talk to Iris about Leon because he was clouding her thoughts constantly at the moment. "I mean how do you feel about Jasper?" Rose asked since although Iris and Jasper had never been an official thing, feelings had definitely been involved between them.

| Iris nodded. What had happened to all their friends recently? Liam and Sky were both who knew where, Levi and Jasper as well as the rest of the Gold clan were off in Vegas, practically ignoring everyone else from what Iris could tell. She knew it must be effecting Rose just as badly as it was Iris, if not worse- Liam was her actual boyfriend, after all, while Jasper was just her... friend? Honestly, she still didn't know. "Yeah, i get it" She said. It was a pretty shitty reply to 'i don't know if my boyfriend is dead' but she honestly didn't know what else to say, and she expecting Rose to carry on talking after that, to give her more to reply to, not for her to switch the conversation over to her. "Uh- i don't really know. I miss him, i guess" She admitted, for the first time. She'd hardly even managed to admit it to herself- she'd been so angry with him for so long now, for just leaving and not texting or calling, that she'd not let herself admit she missed him, but she really did. Even though he could be a dick sometimes, he'd always been so lovely to her, and they'd blatantly cared for each other. She was still trying to figure out if she'd even loved him at one point. "To be honest- while i miss him the most- i also miss the rest of them. Levi, Liam, even Sky, and you know how much she hated me" She said with a small laugh before carrying on "I don't know why, but when we were all together i felt like we were all quite... complete? Like, i don't know- this sounds so cheesy, but it was like we were a pack" She said, pulling her legs up to her chest and wrapping her arms around them. WORDS: 345

At least she wasn't alone. Yes she could talk to Leon about this but he hadn't known them and he certainly hadn't been in a relationship with any of the. It was like a pass of Rose had gone missing with Liam and she was still waiting for it to grow back so she could move on. Breaching the gap between them, Rose gave Iris's hand a squeeze a gentle smile on his lips, "we can miss them all together." They had been a pack even if half of them had been human and didn't get along, at the end of the day they'd had each other's backs even if it didn't seem that way.
Sitting back up Rose wrapped her hands around each other, staring at a spot on the opposite wall for a moment. "We'll be okay though." She said quietly, head tilting back towards Iris. "I mean, from what I've heard- you've found yourself a new beau." Rose would never have known unless Jamie had told her, her cousin had stopped into the local diner on her way to meet up with Lottie to go the toilet and had seen Iris and Jensen sat down together.

Iris returned Rose's smile and hand squeeze with her own. She was so glad she still had Rose, as if she didn't she honestly didn't know what she'd do. It was one thing loosing Jasper but if she'd lost Rose along with him at the same time she would basically have no one left. "Good" She replied, again coping Rose and leaning back, sinking into the seat. "I'm sure we will, usually are, right?" Honestly, sometimes Iris thought about what she'd been through in the last year or so and was actually surprised how okay she was. Being thrown into the supernatural world, being chased by a lizard person, being kidnapped and tortured... Most people probably would have had a nervous breakdown by now, not Iris though.
She laughed lightly, a blushing coming to her cheeks at Rose's next comment. She'd been waiting to actually see Rose in person before telling her, but now she felt a bit bad. "Yeah, i was waiting to see you in person" She explained quickly "But yeah, Jensen... He's so sweet. We went to the fair" She told her friend, her mind flashing back to the date, smiling at the memories.

"We always come out on top, even if a little bruised." But they'd survive, they had before and they would now. The pair of them certainly won't going to let the absence of a couple of boys pull down the spirits, no that would be stupid and silly and neither Iris or Rose were that (okay, okay, maybe Rose was a bit at times - well, always - but as a whole).
Rose was eager to the the latest gossip from Iris, it had been one of the main topics she wanted to pick over with Iris because if Iris was happy about something then that was great. From the blush sliding across Iris's cheeks, Rose was even more keen to find out what was occurring with her and Jensen who was someone Rose had never had much experience with but he seemed alright. "Aw, hon!" The smile on Iris's face filled in more blanks about how her friend felt but not enough to satisfy Rose. "So, what happened? Did he pick you up, did you kiss? Oh please tell me you didn't throw up on him on some stupid roller-coaster." Rose was laughing at the last part, a cheeky grin crossing over her cheeks.

"You know it" Iris replied, grinning back. Where would she be without Rose? She was like her rock, always there for her even if no one else was. Honestly, if she hadn't had Rose in the last year, Iris would have been a wreck- okay so maybe she was a little bit of a wreck now, but it was only a small wreck. Without Rose she'd be a much bigger one, like the titanic or something.
Iris couldn't stop the grin from spreading across her face even more, her cheeks still pink from blushing. She grabbed a pillow for something to fiddle with as she turned to look at her friend. "Yeah, he picked me up and we went to Sal's- but it was so cute, he was, like dancing in the car with me and didn't even realise the light had gone green" Out of everything, she honestly wasn't sure why she remembered that or was mentioning it, she had just found it so adorable "I didn't throw up on him but, yeah, we did kiss" She said, feeling the blush even more prominent on her cheeks after she said that.

Ah, aha! She was blushing this was serious, this was good news, Rose flipped positions so she was more on her side, looking directly at Iris with a detective’s expression on her face. “That sounds so adorable.” Rose told Iris with a smile although in her mind an image of Liam driving her to the beach crossed her mind. Man, Rose missed him so much sometimes it was almost impossible to think straight but no, that wasn’t going to ruin her mood now. Right now it was time to focus on Iris’s happiness.
At the mention of a kiss, Rose’s eyes lit up as she slapped Iris’s arm out of excitement (relatively gently of course), “oh my god and you’re only telling me this now?!” Rose asked with a look of shock but her eyes were laughing, mood completely switched again.

"It really was, he's just so cute, like he wants to do anything to make sure you're happy" she said with a smile, nearly adding 'Unlike Jasper' onto the end of her sentence but, really, he did do his best, he was just rubbish at showing emotions. Over the time they'd known each other he had done some amazing things for her. She pushed the thoughts of him away, though, as this wasn't the time, and instead focused on the now. Iris jumped at Rose's extreme reaction, rubbing her arm even though they slap didn't hurt at all. "There's no need for violence!" She laughed, grinning brightly at her friend. Honestly, this was probably the best she'd felt in a long time, it was even better he the date. Right here, right now she didn't have to worry about impressions anyone, or be miserable over someone who obviously didn't want her any more, or have to worry about something supernatural jumping out at her, all she had to do was laugh and talk to her best friend. There was absolutely nothing better then that. "I know, I know, I just really wanted to talk to you I'm person, and this is the first time I've really had a chance. Y'know, we've both been so busy with school... Jensen... Leon?" She said, the last word ending up a question as she turned her detective eyes in her. She wanted to know if there was anything going on between the pair as, from a far, she couldn't tell, but it seemed like Leon might have a crush and Rose, but she didn't know if the feeling was returned.
