Loneliness liked this had a way of breaking a person down until they felt like nothing more than a shell of their former selves. This shell was named Sophie. In the past year she'd lost her sister, grown apart from her adoptive parents and her pack, well, where the hell were they? They'd left her without a backwards glance as far as she was concerned. So for all Sophie could tell and for all she felt, she was an omega, a long wolf, just waiting to be picked off. Maybe Jasper and Levi would come back one day and help her but for now she felt like a left over strawberry, left to rot in the bottom of the fridge.
With all this new found time on her hands, Sophie had taken up learning the piano, she'd had a lack of commitment to it at first but now her fingers' itched to get back on it, to try that song again or practice those chords to perfection. It was addictive. As well as that Sophie figured she might as well focus at school and this was the best she'd ever done, her GPA had risen significantly much to her delight- she knew her parents were pleased to.
Being an omega was dangerous, Sophie knew that from hearing stories of other werewolf loners. Time was ticking, soon someone would put an arrow inside of her without anyone else noticing and it was unlikely that anyone besides her parents would care. Talk about life goals. It was safe to say that the young blonde had become reasonably, well, bitter about many things. Who could blame her though? She'd had to put up with a lot of shit during her life. These past three months or so had just been the icing on the cake to perfect her childhood life.
Friends were probably what she needed and sure, she had some but no one she really wanted to call at the end of the day after spending school together. She longed for that but so far she hadn't found someone to make that connection with.
Pulling up her car into the parking lot, Sophie slammed the door shut harder than she'd intended to. Wincing at the sound, Sophie walked into the shop after noticing that there was only one other car in the car park. The rental store never got many customers, it was a surprise that it was still open and running. Recently Sophie had gotten really into British period drama films which she'd never expected to enjoy but hey, everyone had their quirks.
Over the shelves stacked with DVDs Sophie noted the sign for drama films and made a beeline for it. She'd watched most of them in a short span of time but there was one there on the top shelf that she'd never heard of before let alone seen. There was one issue though, she was too short to reach, even standing on her tiptoes - which believe me, she was doing included with little jumps - there was no help. Until from behind her someone reached up, grabbed it and passed it to her. "Oh, thank you." She wasn't unappreciative, just surprised.

pick a personality for free 708 Bitterness used to be at the tip of her tongue. Eyes always squinted in some disapproving manor and a cruel judgment just behind her lips. It was hard to catch her at a good time, heart always ruled over by her frosted mind to give anything a chance, but that was a year ago. A short span of weeks in which she’d sheltered herself against the American way. She had missed home, unaccustomed to the sudden change, and she’d let it show through a cold shoulder and harsh glare.
Now everything has changed. As her parents liked to put it, Willow was ‘back to normal’. Whatever that really meant, because it wasn’t like she was magically the same as she was back in Britain, no. She was just simply new, taken to Beacon Hills and its people and she grew into the foundation it was built on. One with the world- or whatever cheesy thing that Google offers up that fits. Point is, she wasn’t as cold as she was in the beginning, she was just Willow.
She took things in stride until she was walking in step with the world around her. Got used to people asking about her accent, found her own little circle of friends, and somehow got her licence- which was still shocking to her, and occasionally caught herself heading for the passenger door rather than driver's. America is just odd. The only road bump she really encountered was Leon. The kid was just about as antisocial as they came. For a short period, he was all grins and anecdotes about his time with Rose, but now? He's just as shut in here as he was back home- and as far as she knew, he wasn't dealing with kicks to the ribs this time. No, right before they came overseas, he'd shot up to just over six feet, even if he hunched over so much to hide himself he could pass for just under five- so really, bullying wasn't a problem here, not that she'd even encountered anyone with a cold enough heart to do it. It was all in his head, old habits die hard she supposed. Well, she's working on it. Willow has always been the social butterfly in the family, and she just hopes she can spread her wings far enough to influence her brother into socializing.
A work in progress temporarily put on hold, Willow was taking the weekend to herself.
With no schoolwork to be finished, no friends free, and certainly no relationship to hold her down, she was taking the time to binge watch whatever movies the local rental shop offered up.
The place was dead when she showed up, just the kid behind the counter (not much older than herself and certainly not doing too well at his job- most likely snoozing the way he had his head down and hadn't moved an inch in the span of time she'd been in here) and herself. It could've been minutes, maybe even an hour, that passed before the bell over the door rang, welcoming a new soul into the dead shop. Willow's gaze batted away from the two horror films she was deciding between as she glanced towards the blonde, instantly curious. Unable to tear her eyes away, her mind swirling with all the dramatics as to who she was and what she was doing here, she'd caught sight of the girl struggling to reach a film on the top shelf. Having been the Grinch and grown a heart a few sizes too big, she set her own movies back down and shuffled over to the blonde's aisle, stepping up on her tippy toes to reach the box- being that she was maybe two inches taller, and still could barely reach it. Fingers snagging the edge, she made a soft sound of victory and handed it over to the girl with a chesire grin.
"No problem," she replied cheekily, quite proud of herself for helping out a stranger before her eyes cast down to the box. With a small laugh, she added, "And I may be biased," she laid her accent on just a tad heavy, "But you have a great taste in films." when you feel like nobody

Taking a small step back, Sophie gave the other girl a quick once over. She looked familiar- Sophie guessed she'd seen her around at school, that was usually where Sophie saw people, she could really make herself sound very antisocial with very little trouble. Following the girl's gaze down to the box, Sophie now registered her accent. Ah, it made more sense now. "Well, they're great films better than the romantic comedy kind of trash which is on most often." Sophie saw enough relationships in the schools' hallways she didn't then need to have them thrown sickly sweetly in her face when she retreated to her nest aka her bedroom.
Tucking the DVD box under her arm, there was an awkward moment of silence before Sophie dipped her toe into conversation again (she was rusty at it after spending too long watching Poldark 3 times), "you go to Beacon Hills High, right?" Honestly if Sophie sounded vaguely unpleasant she didn't mean to, she was normally lovely but recently life had just been grating that away from her. She was going from a Hufflepuff to a Slytherin way too fast. Girl needed to get her life together because if it was falling apart at 16, well, that was embarrassing. "I'm Sophie by the way." Smiling now, Sophie tipped her head to the side, trying to remember if she'd ever heard the other girl's name before.

pick a personality for free 311 An approving smile graced the young British girl's lips, eyes raking up and down the girl as she finally took a moment to get a good look at her. She looked vaguely familiar, a face in the back of the class, a head of hair just peeking over a book, or maybe over a phone- she wasn't sure, but the girl was someone she had seen before. Be it at school, or just the town in general, but knowing that made her a little more personable. With a soft chuckle, she nodded in agreement, her tone a bit over dramatic just for the heck of it as she commented, "Oh god, don't even bring those up. They're horrendous," she wasn't a big fan on the whole sappy, find each other at the last second kind of crap. To be honest, she really preferred horror films over everything, maybe a good mystery, but romance had never truly caught her interest unless a load of action was involved.
The girl seemed to be having just a bit of a hard time adding to the conversation, and Willow got that- she lived with Leon, for Christ's sake, so she had a high tolerance for this kind of thing. Patience out the wazoo for the awkward act of socializing- not to mention the whole social butterfly thing she has going on. Wrapping this girl under her wing wouldn't be too much of a hassle.
If she even wanted that is.
Nodding along to her question, she chimed in, "Yeah, this is my second year," and maybe she sounded just a little too proud about that, sue her. She was glad she'd made it in America. School here was hard. "Nice to officially meet you, Sophie. I think I may have seen you around? Willow." Her words all rushed together, speaking too fast a bad habit. when you feel like nobody

"I mean, how many times can boy meet girl and realise they're the one? It's the same plot over and over again." Sophie replied with a shrug and a laugh, eyes brightening as she warmed to the girl. That was the thing with Sophie, it didn't take much to make her like you but at the same time it didn't take much for her to not like you; there was a thin balance in play. Despite that, once Sophie found someone she liked and really got on with it was a lot to shake her off, that was probably why she was finding it so hard without the Golds around.
Oh, okay, cool so the girl wasn't exactly new but it wasn't like she'd been around for 5 years and Sophie was only just noticing her because that would be embarrassing... it may or may not have happened before. You want to know that story? Sure, so it had been in Sophie's sophomore year of school, she'd been walking down the hall on her way to maths when a girl with a chopped brown bob caught her eye looking, well, lost so you can't exactly blame Sophie for thinking she was new. Long story short, she'd felt lost with the sudden realization that her hair could no longer go into a ponytail- ridiculous. So hadn't needed Sophie's help at all, especially since they were in the same year. "Ah- that's cool. So I take it your all settled down into Beacon Hills now then?" Sophie asked in an attempt (which was successful FYI Sophie was a good liar after years of hiding the fact that she was, oh, you know, a werewolf) to hide the fact that she'd never really noticed Willow before.

pick a personality for free 408 With an exasperated sigh, Willow let her eyes roll in exaggeration as she moaned, “I know,” dragging out the vowels dramatically. She took her movies very seriously. It was a constant topic of debate in their household because where as her father was quite content with the horror and action films she leaned towards, her mother and Leon had their hearts set on heartfelt dramas and drawn out love stories- and Disney movies, god don’t even mention them around those too. It’s bad. “I don’t understand how people can watch them. Nowadays they’re all superficial and predictable. Even some of the older ones just repeat each other- though Titanic is the exception. Nothing beats that.” It was probably the only cliché film she could stand. Okay, she loved it. Jack and Rose deserved so much more than that. So yeah- maybe she goes around whispering ‘I’ll never let go’ when she latches onto someone, and maybe she screeches the lyrics to the only Celine Dion song that matters at the top of her lungs at the most random moments, sue her.
Though she does refuse to go on boats of any shape or size. Not uh, no thank you.
Taking a subtle, deep breath, she realized she may be coming off a little weird with how passionate she is being about some stupid movies, but when she’s surrounded by girls who worship cheesy pick-up lines and gush over the latest chick flick, well, Willow was going to indulge in the fact that there is some out there her age that can’t stand the latest ‘love’ story. Nodding, and then shrugging slightly, she smiled and agreed, “Yeah, I’m settled in. Got used to the time change and people looking at me weird because of my accent pretty quick. The biggest change has been the schooling, but I think I got it down.” Glancing around at the empty shop briefly, she wondered why it was so vacant- then quickly reminded herself that the only reason she’s here is because the movie she wanted wasn’t on Netfilx. How long would it be before this place simply shut down?
Biting her lower lip, she searched for something else to say, eyes finding Sophie’s as she asked, “What year are you in?” Most of her friends were Seniors, despite her being a Junior, and she couldn’t help but hope maybe Sophie would be in her grade so she’d have someone the upcoming year.

Finally, Sophie had found someone who agreed with her on this matter. It was like a breath of fresh air. With her other female friends they were all making eye hearts at Ryan Gosling in The Notebook and then being surprised when they both died at the end. Like c'mon, they're both old, what did you expect? Anyways, back on topic. "Oh, Titanic. This might sound terrible but I've never actually watched it- scandalous, I know." Lily had tried to make Sophie watch it once before but after the first 10 minutes Sophie had had to bail out of the film, saying that she had homework she'd suddenly remembered about and would not be able to watch the film when the truth had been that at age 14, Sophie hadn't cared about some tragic love/boat story when she already knew what happened.
"I get the schooling thing. I was watching a show the other day, in England and it all looks so confusing, so I can see how you'd think the same about it here." Sophie replied with a smile pushing a lock of bright blonde hair behind her ear. (MEGAN don't ask me confusing things like years Imma get this wrong probably) "Oh, eleventh grade- a junior." (megs did i get that right?) "Are you?" Actually that question could be taken a number of ways when you weren't used to Sophie's rather lazy way of speaking, "in eleventh grade I mean." Wow, smooth.

Maybe not off to as good of a start as she'd thought. Bash talking movies like 'The Vow' and 'The Notebook' and the other 'The' films, she was totally on board with- even if she'd never actually even seen any one of those films. Heard girls gossiping over Channing Tatum and the similar plots, had seen commercials and snippets from interviews while switching channels, but never sat down with a bowl of popcorn and indulged in the love movies. Which really wasn't all that surprising, but Titanic is her baby. Everyone has seen Titanic. Everyone but Sophie, it seems. She wanted to scowl, allow just a tad bit of bitterness into her town, but Willow wasn't that petty. It was just a movie, even if it was the facts behind it that had drawn her in. A ship that size sinking because the captain wouldn't slow down, nature taking out thousands of lives- even if Rose and Jack weren't real, how many people had lost a love one? How many bloodlines were lost in those frigid waters? It was more than some film with forbidden love, but something that had opened her eyes at a young age. It may not have been true, but a variation- different from all those last minute love scenes that she gagged at. Okay, so Willow is rather passionate about this one film, but it's not likes she's going to come out a spill all of that to some girl she'd just met.
So she just shrugged, eyes falling to her shoes for a moment as she teetered on her heels, voice soft, "Very scandolous." No further comment because she'd just fall into a debate over the old movie and nobody wants that.
Rather, she let a smile find her lips as her gaze found Sophie's- the schooling in the two countries were so different, she'd never thought she'd have gotten a grip on it. "Yeah, I'm a Junior too," she piped up, quite eager to have met someone she felt she could properly get along with in her grade. Nibbling on her bottom lip softly, she tilted her head and asked, "So you really like English films, huh?"

Sophie could sense that what she'd said about Titanic had maybe made the girl a bit cold but Sophie guessed that there was no going back from that now, "well, maybe we could watch it together sometime. I already trust your sense in films." Sophie said with a beam-er of a smile because oh no, what if this could have been a great friendship and she'd just stopped it flourishing already.
Clearly though, this was all in Sophie's head (too long being a hermit if you ask me; makes you doubt yourself) as Willow stayed and carried on talking to her. "That's cool! We can totally ditch sports together." Sophie replied with a small laugh, happy that they were back on track. "Oh, yeah. They're just so addictive and I feel bad saying this in front of you in case you'r bored of hearing it but the accents are great. So, besides movies what else do you like to spend your spare time doing?" Sophie was curious to see if they had anything else in common or anything else they could bitch about together. Everyone knows that all great friendships are formed over a mutual dislike for something.

Of course Willow had gone and made the girl feel awkward at her little internal spiel on the 'Titanic', her features aiding the cold shoulder she'd been giving Sophie in that short moment. It wasn't what she'd meant to do at all, so she was quick to give her an out- she didn't want her feeling forced into agreeing with the film. "You don't have to, if you don't want- but that sounds like fun. You could laugh at when I tear up," she let out a soft giggle, properly lightening the topic with ease.
With a sigh of relief, Willow nodded, "Oh God yes, I cannot stand gym for the life of me." It wasn't so much to deal with getting her messed up and being sweaty or even changing in front of other girls (which was awkward but not unbearable) but the fact that she had to actually physically exert herself when she'd rather just huddle in the corner with her phone to binge read or watch. Playfully rolling her eyes, she waved her hand at the statement, "Yeah, yeah- you'd think after a year I'd quite hearing that, but I'll take it as a flattering comment. So thank you. Your accent is pretty cheeky as well," winking teasingly, Willow bit her lip as the question settled over her. What did she do in her free time, exactly? "Aside from pestering my brother within an inch of his life? Uh, I read a lot. Binge watch t.v. shows, and oh god I must sound boring- I can't think of anything else." With a self-depreciating laugh, she tacked on, "What about you?"

"It's a date!" Sophie replied with a laugh, eager to dissipate any tension that had accidentally formed between them. "Competitive sports are the worst because there are always those people who take it way to far and act like they're in the Olympics or something." Sophie was definitely not the type, physically she could be the type since you know, she was a Werewolf so super speed and super strength perks but mentally she was a lazy ass werewolf with no motivation when it came to keeping fit. Could you get overweight werewolves, Sophie would have to look into that.
Sophie was glad she'd taken the accent comment well because honestly she was clinging onto the idea of making a friend here and not someone who would avoid her in the corridors for being way too friendly and eager but frankly she'd hit rock bottom when it came to socialising and she'd take what she could get. "Ah! Thank you," Sophie replied with a laugh. "Ooh, you have a brother?" Sophie nearly said but stopped herself because those kind of questions normally lead to "do you have any siblings?" and a year or so on, Sophie still struggled to think about Lily and the car crash. "No, TV and reading are the best things to do! Uh, I- crap, what do I do?" Yeah good question Sophie, what do you do beside vegetate? "I play the piano which is pretty fun." She'd started over the summer and had found that she'd loved the discipline of it.

Willow couldn't help but grin at the girl's enthusiasm over spending time with her. No one had been that excited to hang out with her since she'd first arrived in Beacon Hills and everyone had wanted to befriend the new British students because the accents apparently made them cool. After the first few disaster 'dates' she'd had with the locals, Willow had set her foot down and narrowed her field of friends to a select few. Aka Lottie and Jamie- sometimes Levi. There were a few others she would lean towards in class for projects or just general company, but she kept almost always to her blonde and redheaded friends. Maybe Sophie could be thrown in that pool of people. Hopefully. She seemed great.
"It is," she cheerfully agreed, her cheeks burning with the strength of her smile, "And they really are," she replied with a huff, eyes tumbling over one another as she thought back on her own days spent in gym. Jocks too full of themselves, wannabe cheerleaders- ugh. It made the whole thing unbearable. Maybe, maybe, if people like that weren't crowding the gym floor she'd actually want to participate in class. As it stands, she's just fine taking a low grade for sitting class out on the bleachers, blind to what her classmates were doing as she studied her phone screen.
"No problem," she said with a shrug before her face lit up once again. Ah, a fellow hermit. Bless this girl for having so much in common. "I'm glad I'm not the only one! I mean, I pretty sure I do other things, but," her shoulders bobbed up and then down once again, her head tilted sideways ever so slightly as she eyed Sophie questioningly. "The piano? That's really awesome. What songs do you know?" Willow was a sucker for instruments. Loved having other people play for her because why not? It was neat to see other people's talents flourish while she laid back and soaked it in.
Much easier than exploiting her own.

Seems that loners and PE haters grouped together; actually, didn’t that happen in the Bratz movie or something? Now that Sophie thought about it, she was sure that that was one of the things that happened. It had been so long since she’d seen that movie even though it was one of her favourites to be completely honest. It was so good and cheesy and the song at the end just made it ten times better. In fact Sophie could be known to sing the words to Bratitude in the shower but don’t tell Jasper that, he’d never let her live it down. Ah, why couldn’t she remember anything? Seriously it seemed that anything she did was suddenly wiped from her mind due to the excitement of actually forming a bond with someone. “I guess I know a lot of movie scores since I watch movies a lot and it just seemed like a great course to go down.” Sophie told her with a laugh. She was such a movie nerd someone help the poor girl. “Do you play any instruments?” Sophie asked, maybe she did and maybe she’d be someone Sophie could play with. There been a fleeting moment at the beginning of the school week when she’d considered joining a school band or the orchestra but had quickly backed out of the idea.

Willow couldn’t stop the almost predatory grin from creasing her lips as she asked, “Movie scores, huh? Can you play ‘My Heart Will Go On’?” Back to Titanic, fantastic. She just couldn’t help herself, smirking with self-satisfaction as she teased the girl. Nothing more than that, just some friendly banter. Or at least she hoped Sophie took it that way, she never knew how these Americans would handle a little joking. Some jumped to the bait, teasing right back. Others? She hadn’t know people could be so sensitive- and that’s coming from a teenage girl.
Shaking off those thoughts, it was best that she didn’t second guess herself and fall into some dark pit of angst, she gave Sophie a soft nod in lieu of a reply, lips pursed as she tried to find a way to word this. It wasn’t all that difficult, really, but Leon always teased her for it. So tentatively, she explained, “I dabble in a few instruments. Kind of start but never finish?” She had a sheepish grin on her lips because she knew it was silly to be nervous about admitting it, but people had called her a ‘selfish brat’ for it before. Having her parents splurge on a guitar and then violin and then a flute only to drop each after only a few months after she found something else to keep her attention? Well, she could see their point. Willow just had trouble finding something to stick with.
