Score one for Ashton.
Not counting the comment about him testing her limits, making her want to vomit with his overwhelming charm, he took her not shooing him away and ripping Jade out from under him as a good sign- and maybe that's why he backed off a tad. With the faux aura of Erin's approval, Ashton leaned away from the girl, giving her back some space, but still keeping his arm on her shoulder. It was more of a dead weight than an act of possession, his hand still cupping her shoulder and fingers gently caressing her skin, but his actions were almost unconscious as he stood to his full height and took one more moment to scan the options before he finally ordered. "Hey," his voice was calm as he spoke to the man behind the counter, lacking any cockiness and his lips devoid of a smug smirk- his attention solely focused on the ingredients soon to be in his burrito. Maybe he did have a slight obsession- sue him. "I'll have a steak burrito- extra steak. Um, white rice and pinto beans," he waited for it to be constructed before it was passed down to the girl who's job it was to stuff it full of condiments. He shuffled down the line some, Jade in tow as he leaned forward and spoke over the growing noise of the lunch rush, "Just lettuce and cheese," he bit his lip to hold in the 'babe' that naturally just wanted to roll of his tongue, eyes falling to Jade and then Erin as it was her turn to order.
He felt like maybe he should have asked for a bit more, maybe guacamole or even some tomatoes- but like Jade, maybe he just ran a little bland when it came to food.
Eyes lingering on Erin for a moment longer as he debated waiting for her to finish ordering or just going up to the cashier, he settled on furthering down the line. After asking for a bag of chips (which were to die for, Jesus Christ), Ashton added, "I"ll have a Dr. Pepper. Jade?"

Watching Ashton, Jade definitely decided that he was well and truly turned on by burritos; she'd never seen someone look at ingredients with so much passion. Casting her gaze off to Erin, Jade raised her eyebrows as if to say 'can you believe this guy?'. As they moved down the line, Jade shoved her hands into her pockets, attempting to appear at ease and completely used to the situation so as not to make it seem that she was still freaking out. Honestly, her head was no longer full of elevator music no, it was full on Taylor Swift chirping about crushes.
Okay, so Ashton wasn't actually going full out with his ingredient choices. Frankly, Jade was surprised he'd been looking at them so fondly she'd expected him to order everything. Left foot kicking the ground just a touch as Jade couldn't help but want her food and want it now. Jade followed Ashton's attention to her sister and smiled at her although Jade was really hoping she'd hurry up so they could pay. Although according to Ashton, they didn't need to wait. Giving her sister a fleeting look, Jade eased herself out of the last remaining touch of Ashton's grasp to walk a foot or so behind him. "Oh, just a Sprite please." Again, Jade could probably guess the drink Erin would order but what if she changed her mind and wanted something completely different? Because of that thought and that alone, that was all Jade said while all the while she was willing Erin to be back by her side.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] back off motherfucker DO YOU THINK I'M STUCK UP CAUSE I'M ALWAYS PICKING FIGHTS? [attr="class","itokaytext"]Erin caught Jade's little glance and eyebrow wiggle and couldn't help but grin over at her on reply. She then listened to Jade, then Ashton ordering, and shuffled down the line behind them. While they were busy ordering their drinks and finishing up their orders she ordered her burrito, steak with other stuff but I don't know what you put into a fucking burrito because I've never had one. It was the same as she usually had, as she didn't want to bother trying anything new or different, since she was pretty hungry at this point and didn't want to bother risking not liking what she got. She joined Jade and Ashton, standing a little closer to Jade then she had been already since she seemed a little bit uncomfortable all of a sudden.
Since they were ordering drinks, Erin just kind of chimed in and said something even though she hadn't been asked- which was basically all she ever did- "Can I get a coke please" she said, actually giving Ashton a slice of a smile, since he hadn't pissed her off in about 2 minutes and he was paying for their food, so he needed a bit of gratitude, much to Erin's displease.

Maybe he was moving too fast. Okay, he knew he was moving too fast. Rushing this thing along, and god, he'd barely know Jade an hour- and the time he had spent at Erin's side in class hadn't exactly been spent swapping secrets and gushing over the latest Melanie Martinez video. Not that he does that. No. Not at all. Who even is she? He's never even heard the Crybaby album. Definitely didn't follow her progress while she was on the Voice. That's just ridiculous. He's all Texan, country music and soft rock. Yeehaw or whatever. He owned a horse and a cowboy hat and won boxing matches left and right. Manly, not jamming out to Pity Party. Never.
This is all besides the point. What was he even thinking about?
After Erin had ordered her drink, and when had she even joined them, Ashton forked over the cash- nearly thirty dollars between the three of them. He just barely caught her hint of a smile, confusion crossing his features for a moment because what had he done to deserve that? Was it a sarcastic one? Just because he'd bought her food? It didn't matter, he gave her a small one in return, too distracted with balancing the food and drinks on the tray to bother making it cocky. His burrito was very vital, if he'd dropped it, well, there was a good chance he'd cry. Glancing back at Jade and- oh, yeah. That's what he was going on about. Moving too quick or whatever. She was no longer in touching range, and he figured that was okay. He couldn't risk scaring her off if he wanted this to go anywhere.
Why was even so set on her?
Best not to question it, he figured. Ashton hadn't dated anyone since his parents passing, was probably just set filling on the void with the nearest girl, but he'd really rather not dive into that mess.
Guiding them silently to one of the only free tables, he took a seat on one side of the table, setting the tray down and beginning to divvy out the food. Ashton figured neither one would sit next to him, so he didn't put any hopes on that. Just kept silent because wouldn't that shock them.

Jade was grateful of Erin's presence by her side, she never failed to make her feel reassured, comforted and Jade knew only all too well that she was lucky to be so close to her sister. They'd been through a fair amount though and that tends to bring even the worst of enemies close together. Following Ashton with the food, Jade met his gaze when he looked back at them, a small smile perking up on her lips.
When Ashton sat down Jade faltered in her step, looking briefly at Erin to see where she went to sat before deciding that actually, no, Jade was a grown girl, she could chose her own seat perfectly well. The safest bet seemed to be to sit opposite Ashton and so that's where she sat, obviously. Taking her food from Ashton, Jade couldn't help be confused by his sudden silence. Oh no, had she done something to upset him? Had she chose the wrong seat? That had to be it, gah, she should have waited to see what Erin was doing because now Jade couldn't help but replay in her mind all the reasons as to why Ashton was now suddenly silent that had to do with her. Fingers cupping around her drink, Jade twisted the cap off a took a sip trying to calm her nerves because seriously she could overthink this for hours if she wasn't careful.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] back off motherfucker DO YOU THINK I'M STUCK UP CAUSE I'M ALWAYS PICKING FIGHTS? [attr="class","itokaytext"]Erin followed Aston and Jade over to a table in silence, trying to work out if it was an awkward silence or not, but she gave up pretty quickly as she hadn't been saying much anyway, so it was just the same silence as it had been before to her. She had no idea how the silence was effecting Ashton and Jade, but judging by the anxious look behind Jades eyes she could assume that she wasn't taking it very well. She slipped into the seat next to her sister, making sure to brush her arm against hers to try and comfort her a little. By sitting next to Jade the scene now probably looked like the two girls were interrogating Ashton, or accusing him of something, or something like that. She didn't really know. She was more focused on the food in front of her, as she was now officially starving.
As she unwrapped her burrito, she decided to try and get some kind of conversation going, as she knew Jade never dealt well with the quiet, and quiet was something that was very easily broken. "So, um, how did you guys actually meet? Are you in classes or something together?" She asked glancing between the pair. It was a question she actually wanted to know the answer too, as Jade had never mentioned him before, but was obviously pretty smitten with him now. She knew her sister could develop a fondness for someone pretty quickly, but she wanted to know how quickly this fondness had developed, just so she knew how bad this would be.

He realized his mistake almost immediately. What was meant to pose as nothing more than a minor shock to the pair that, yes, he could be quiet, and maybe as a short wave of a white flag to offer a truce to Erin has backfired. The unease that settled over them unnerved Ashton, and he knew he'd have to fix it upon the next given opportunity- which Erin had offered up on a silver platter with her question. He finally had something to be thankful for when it came to the pesky twin. Letting his foot find Jade's underneath the table subtly, so Erin wouldn't catch on, Ashton sent a soft smile her way to reassure that she hadn't done anything wrong- which is somewhat ridiculous, he thought they'd have rejoiced upon his sudden silence. Oh well. He'd make do with what he was given, and if his silence unsettled them, then he'd let the damn break.
His soft grin shifted easily into a cunning smirk as he turned his attention onto Erin, propping his elbows on the table as he momentarily ignored his burrito in favor of dropping his chin onto his hands and replying in a smooth twang, "I think I would have noticed if I had a girl a pretty as her in my class," much like he had with Erin, but he left that unsaid- that wouldn't win him any favors. His gaze fell to Jade, his features twisting into something bordering on affectionate, heavy with love- and it was nearly authentic, but the mischievous curl to his lips gave him away, "No, we just ran into each other today, quite literally," he sent a teasing wink towards Jade before turning back to the other, a contemplative look on his face as he tried to properly recall the last week of school, "Though, I do believe we may have lunch together." His brows were drawn in tight, a honestly pensive look on his face as he searched for Jade's face in his memories. It was probably the most truthful he'd looked all day.

A movement under the table caught Jade's attention immediately. She had to take a moment to actually not crack a laugh because clearly Ashton wanted this under-the-table-happening to be kept unknown. Thing is, Jade had never been in this situation before and had no idea to what to actually do in response, all she could do was smile back at Ashton, maybe he'd be able to send her some kind of hint because man was she bad at this.
Jade had been taking a bite of her burrito when Ashton spoke and frankly she nearly choked although she wasn't a completely and utter klutz-dork-hybrid so was able to just let out a small laugh, dropping the burrito back into it's packet to take a sip of her drink. Was there a 101 course of 'how to boy' somewhere because she needed it? "You were stood in the middle of the shops, honestly anyone could have walked into you." Turning to Erin she said, "seriously- he's a brick wall, don't walk into him." A smile was on her face though, eye brightening up as she tried to think about lunch. In all honesty she didn't pay much attention to who was around her at lunch time, just scrolled through her phone and occasionally made a bit of conversation with whoever she was sat with, ever the social butterfly that she is. "I'll keep an eye out for you at lunch." Because Jade couldn't remember him and he wasn't the type of guy you forgot.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] back off motherfucker DO YOU THINK I'M STUCK UP CAUSE I'M ALWAYS PICKING FIGHTS? [attr="class","itokaytext"]Leave it it up to Ashton to make Erin regret ever saying anything to him ever. She was okay with flirting. She was okay with people flirting with her sister. She wasn't so okay with people (assholes) flirting with her sister right in front of her when she knew they were dickheads. Definitely not okay with that. So, she rolled her eyes and took a bite of her burrito and let the stake-y goodness calm her down a bit. Well, not calm her down as she wasn't actually angry, but y'know, whatever. No matter how you felt burritos made you feel better. Wedding day? Burritos. Child birth? burritos. Funeral? Burritos. Hell yeah. What?
She swallowed her mouthful then turned her attention back to Jade and Assy. Grinning at Jade she nodded "i will do avoid crashing into him, defiently" She told her. She then sipped her coke while they carried on talking, wondering whether maybe she should leave them alone. If she stayed she was basically third wheeling, if she left she was leaving Jade alone with Ashton, and neither of them were really appealing options, but there was no way she was going to drag Jade home or away from Ashton and look like some psycho, jealous, weird sister. Third wheeling it was. Erin now knew how quickly Jade had become smitten with Ashton, and it was not good. Honestly, she did think her sister was better then that- like, she'd at least have to have a solid hour of talking before crushing on someone the way she was crushing on Ashton, but apparently not. Erin knew she had a knew task on her hand; project 'Don't Let Jade Get Her Heartbroken By A Fuckboy' began.

A chuckle escaped Ashton's lips as he turned his attention back to the burrito in front of him, fingers working at pulling the aluminum foil away from the tortilla shell while he listened to Jade's banter. He barely held in a groan of pleasure as the aroma of the Mexican delight filled his senses. Okay, so he may have a problem- but god, he was raised on Tex-Mex and this was as close as he could get to a meal he grew up on. Or he had a burrito fetish, jury's still out on that one. The world may never know. He sank his teeth into the burrito, eyes batting between the two girls for a moment as he chewed happily, a genuine curl, as small as it may be, on his lips as he chomped on the food with little elegance. At least he managed to keep his mouth closed, no spray of half-eaten bits as he ate. He swallowed around the mess in his mouth, the hand not groping the burrito raised to cover his mouth in a semblance of respect so he didn't flash them the left over food in his mouth as he defended himself, voice muffled slightly, "I was not in the middle of the way, you're making that up," his tone was joking, a grin hiding behind his palms as he wiggled his brows and flirted, "But I'm glad it was you that ran into me, Jade." With a wink, he swallowed down the rest of his food, his hand dropping to cup the burrito alongside the other. "Be sure to do that," he added, promising himself to do the same as he turned his attention towards Erin. He eyed her for a moment, squinted in scrutiny at her comment, but he kept his mouth shut, preferring to put it to work on his burrito rather than waste his breath on her.
So another bite he took, with a waggle of his brows at Jade, just to try to get another giggle out her. He kinda really liked that sound.

“You were so in the middle of the way!” Jade retorted with a shocked laugh before she looked at Erin to gain support even though she hadn’t witnessed the event “trust, I’m not making that up.” Jade was grinning though, a lazy smile looped around her face as she bumped her shoulder against Erin’s. A blush betraying her crept across her cheeks at his next comment and she ducked her head, attaching her lips to her sprite bottle to avoid saying something stupid like ‘yeah, me too! Probably because you’re the most attractive person I’ve ever seen.’
At least from this she’d found someone she could possibly spend lunch with, she was running out of excuses as to why she looked so lonely at lunchtime. Taking another bite out of her burrito Jade smiled at eyebrow waggling after swallowing her bite. “So, how did you two meet?” Had they been through this already? It was highly likely that Jade had just forgotten about it in her sudden flare of a crush that was determined to slow down her brain. Jade guessed they’d met at school but you never know, there were other places to meet that in school…. Like crashing into people at the mall, that’s a great way to meet people, fact.

Erin grinned, but only for her sisters sake. Honestly, she didn't really care much who ran into who, but if i made her sister happy she would smile and look interested- something she did pretty well. "Well, i'm siding with Jade, Ashton's fault" She said, winking at Jade then looking over at Ashton with a teasing little glint in her eye.
She took a bite out of her burrito as they fell into a short comfortable silence, all of them chewing at the same time for a few seconds before Jade spoke again. Erin swallowed her mouthful the shrugged "Just at school. First day we had first period together- chemistry" She explain, smiling at her sister before taking a sip of her drink. It was then she felt her phone buzz in her pocket, and she pulled it out and found a text from a cute guy in her history class who had offered her some study help. She was better at history but by no means good at it, so she agreed to the help- it just helped that the guy was cute. He was just saying he was free for the said help now, and she was willing to go now. She'd really dragged out her welcome long enough, and while she didn't want to leave Jade alone with Ashton she knew it would happen at some point- especially with lunch looming over them.
"I gotta go" She said quickly, giving an apologetic look to her sister, but she knew she'd understand "It's that history guy" She explained, standing up. "Thanks for the burrito, huckleberry" She said, grabbing what was left of it along with her drink and smiling at the two of them before heading off, leaving Jade and Ashton alone again.

There was no stopping the shocked laugh that fell from his lips- thankfully he’d swallowed and nothing sprayed onto their poor, pretty faces. He gaped for a moment as Erin sided with Jade, ganging up on him, though it wasn’t like he’d expected anything different. It must be a twin thing, or maybe a girl thing- Jensen would have sold him out and sided with the other person in a heartbeat only to get a reaction out of him (and then proceed to grovel because he had no back bone and didn’t want Ashton mad at him, the sucker). Shaking his head as his gaze batted between the two girls, he couldn’t help but smirk, a strange feeling of delight bubbling in his stomach at how shockingly well this was all going.
He was just about to make a quip back at the pair, a taunt on the tip of his tongue when Erin pulled out her phone and announced her departure- for another guy, nonetheless. History guy. Ashton didn’t know how he was, but he didn’t like him. How could Erin ditch him for someone else? Okay, yeah, he was hitting on her sister, but still. He didn’t like it- couldn’t help but frown a bit, but he masked the reason truly behind it as he called back, “I’m Tom, not Huck. Get it right!” He shook his head, letting out a breath of a laugh before he turned back to Jade and wiggled his brows, smirking dangerously as he leaned forward and purred, “Now that we’re alone…”
It was all teasing, his grin predatory, but there was no heat behind it. He wouldn’t move that quickly, that wasn’t the smart way to play this. Patience was virtue- not that he knew what virtue meant, but still.

Jade rolled her eyes at Ashton’s response whilst putting an arm around Erin and giving her a hug, “thanks for siding with me, pudding.” The reaction they’d receive from Jade was enough for her to know that she liked seeing him shocked, less sure of himself, it was interesting since so far all she’d really seen of him was true and pure cockiness. A face has many sides though and every angle you look at a face from, you learn something new.
Pulling her arm away when Erin said she was leaving, Jade’s heart dropped for a second before the realisation that she would be aloe with Ashton once more made her cheeks begin to redden. Jade had only heard small amounts of history guy and in her opinion he didn’t sound very interesting but hey, they needed to make friends.
Taking a sip from her drink just as Ashton turned his attention back to her was probably a mistake as she sucked the straw extra tight, causing a shoot of liquid to enter her mouth faster than she’d expected, forcing her to swallow quickly before she could actually reply. “Yes, not that we’re alone, you can tell me…” she trailed off as she tried to think of what she might want to know, “… what your favourite colour is?” Damn, not a cool or a smooth pickup line. Seriously if a real life bulldozer could come and remove her from the situation that would be great. Jade was seriously beginning to wish that she’d gone with Erin or at least asked Erin a while ago how to flirt and actually talk to guys because getting her phone out now to look for tips and tricks might possibly be a bit obvious, so for now Jade was just going to having to go for the colour line and hope for the best.

Normally Ashton would lie and say it was the color of whoever he was talking to's eyes, but instead he answered honestly. Green. Like his own.
The rest of the day was spent like that, swapping little facts and favorites. Surprisingly fun. Ashton hadn't smiled so hard in a long time. He liked Jade. He did. But that didn't stop his eyes from wandering, from his lips forming Erin's name every now and then to get little tidbits about the other Little.
In the end, they swapped numbers. Ashton sent a winky face. To which she rolled her eyes. It wouldn't be their last meeting, not if he had his way.
