The light in the forest was minimal, early morning sunlight strained to push it's way through the canopy of leaves above Jade's head. Having never been to Beacon Hills before the summer vacation started, Jade was curious to see what the people in Beacon Hills High would be like, nice, bitchy maybe even supernatural. Supernatural was the word, the aim to find someone who was just that. Her family (and others) simply wanted to find someone who was more of a something. So far it hadn't worked.
Jade that morning had made the decision to head into the woods ahead of school. That had involved getting up early, so there she was half six in the morning, still basically asleep and making sure not to trip over any branches or logs or well, anything that could make a clumsy person trip and fall. Something behind her snapped but Jade thought nothing of it. Of course a preserve would have the sound of snapping in it, it was covered with snap-able objects. Glancing down on the leaf covered ground, Jade noticed a stain of red. There was only one thing that truly looked like that in the world. Blood.
Following the stain ahead of her, Jade noticed more drops of bloods on leaves and twigs. There though, about 20 meters away on a tree ahead of her was a wet, bloody hand print that could have been nothing but human. Suddenly she was not tired. Making sure her backpack wouldn't slip off, Jade started to run, heading towards the hand print. The town had been quiet throughout the summer, no murders that the Little family had been aware of. If this trail of blood led to something then Jade would have been the one to find the first evidence of supernatural that could easily be proved. She'd be a hero. Feet skidding on the ground as she came to a stop at the tree, Jade circled the trunk, looking for anymore bloodied prints. Nothing.
Pressing her lips into a thin line, Jade scanned the ground again but she could see no sign of other blood. Angry at herself that she'd allowed herself to get prematurely excited, Jade released her angst on a pile of leaves a few feet from the tree. Her foot hit something, something that bounced slightly but was otherwise solid. Eyes flying wide as the leaves slowly slid down the side of the corpse, Jade pressed a hand to her mouth. There in front of her lay a dead man whose fingers ended not in nails but claws. This was it, she'd found something.
Now though she had to come up with a plan as to what to do with the dead body. Reaching for her phone, Jade turned her back on the boy not loving the way his eyes stared up, unfocused and eerily grey. That was when she heard another snapping sound and this time she did flinch. Someone was before her before Jade could cover up the dead body. "I didn't do it!" Jade said quickly, the words the first things that came to mind. "Kill him, I mean." She added more slowly this time.

Lottie had almost got used to it now. Suddenly the quiet, whispering voices in her mind were silenced and she was over come in a sort of trance. She had to admit, she hated when this happened, but when she was actually in the trance she couldn't think this, it was only ever afterwards everything had happened that she was annoyed by it. Obviously, she had reason to hate it- being an 'omen of death' and constantly coming across dead, and usually bloody, bodies wasn't exactly fun. She couldn't help it, though, all she could do was put up with it. Today, for some reason, she just hadn't been expecting it. She didn't know how to predict death, but apparently that was something she could learn to do. Still, she'd been so nervous for the first day back at school that she had completely blanked the fact that she might end up being a body finder yet again. [break]Before she'd even done past her foundation or picked a final outfit (she was dressed, but what she got dressed in first wasn't what she usually ended up wearing), Lottie was out the door in her little trance, heading for the preserve. Stumbling through the woods, heading towards her final destination. All of a sudden she snapped out of the trance, and was faced with a girl standing over a clawed man. She stopped, shocked, staring down at the body. Even now, when she knew about all the secrets Beacon Hills was hiding, it still shocked her when she saw something supernatural in the flesh- especially something dead and supernatural. She turned her attention to the girl there, who was trying to plead her innocence, but her words didn't exactly sound convincing, just what anyone would say in her position. Taking a step back from the girl, Lottie narrowed her eyes. "Why should i believe that?" She asked, completely on edge. Words: 331 || Notes: xxx

The girl in front of her did not look convinced. Then again, based on her outfit, she didn't look all that put together. Her question pulled Jade's attention back to the conversation at hand here. "Why shouldn't you believe it?" Jade challenged, her voice low and steady as her arms fell loosely to her sides. Taking up a defensive position here wouldn't help her cause. Clouds moved over the sun, sending the woods into a further gloom. It was the perfect light to hiding things. Although an outfit as displeasing as the one this stranger was wearing couldn't even hide in here.
Jade, focus.
Running her tongue over her lower lip, Jade wished for her sister to appear now, she'd be able to handle this a lot better. Well, maybe not.
"What are you doing here?" Jade asked, her eyes had been studying the girl carefully, wondering why she looked so messy, her make-up clearly not finished and a hazy look in her eyes. Maybe she was a drug addict. If Jade could get the point of conversation off of her and on to the other girl then maybe she'd be able to trip her up. For all Jade knew this girl could be a minefield of information just waiting to burst.
For the past couple of years, Jade had spent a lot of late nights reading different supernatural myths and tales from all around the world. A creature's qualities seemed to vary from folk to folk. This girl though, coming to the body. Well, if Jade wasn't muddling her information or being overly eager to be the best she could be then the girl could be a banshee. Jade held that piece of information tight to herself just in case she needed to arm herself with it shortly, she'd blackmailed her sister a few times to get her to do something, so it was safe to say she had practice.

The girls question took Lottie a bit off guard, as, to be honest, it was a pretty stupid one. Why wouldn't she blame the girl who she found next to the dead body? Okay, so maybe the girl did seem a bit like she was freaked but she was trying to stay calm, but still, it seemed like a strange thing to ask. "Well, maybe because i happened to stumble into you standing next to a dead body?" She pointed out, the sentence a question while also being quite matter of factly. Cocking her head slightly when she was asked why she was here, Lottie took a moment to think about the answer. Obviously she wan't going to blurt out to a stranger 'oh i'm a banshee. an omen of death, basically, and if there's a dead body imma come running', because she would look completely nuts. So, she shrugged, and didn't let the girl flip the conversation to her, like she'd been intending too. "I could ask you the same thing" She replied. Honestly, Lottie was very surprised by how cool she was staying in this situation. She'd only had one freak out moment when she'd first arrived, and she couldn't help but remember when she found her first body, which felt so long ago now, and how terrified she'd been. That was progress for sure. Words: 230 || Notes: xxx

This girl grated her, why wouldn't she just believe what Jade was saying. It would make everything so much easier, not to mention Jade was still in mild shock at the discovery making her thoughts skewed. Kicking her foot out in front of her, Jade decided to take a temporary vow of silence instead of answering the question of why she wouldn't believe her. If it were Jade in this situation, as in the roles were reversed, she was certain she'd agree, that way she'd stay out of trouble. Later she'd question it. Clearly this other early morning wanderer was not like that.
For a moment Jade was led to believe that Lottie was going to tell her the truth. But then the shrug came and the lack of answer followed and Jade's insides coiled up in what some would refer to as anger but what Jade would refer to as being pissed off. Crossing her arms in front of her, Jade looked the pretty - although messy - girl squarely in the eye, not hesitating to look away. It seemed if the girl weren't to believe her, she might as well seem like someone who could actually kill someone, no, not someone, something. "You could, or you could just answer the bloody question." Jade replied, voice as cool as a cucumber.

Lottie noticed that the girl conveniently decided not to reply to her reasoning about why Lottie would blame her for the murder, and that just made her trust her even less. She didn't even try to defend herself, which anyone with even a bit of sanity would probably find a bit strange and suspicious. Still, this bickering was getting them nowhere, and someone was dead in front of them. Someone had literally lost their life, and all Lottie and this other girl could do was argue. She knew they needed to quit it, but when the girl asked what she was doing there again she really didn't want to answer. Well, she couldn't answer, because she couldn't tell a stranger that she was a supernatural crazy screaming lady, especially when she now knew there were hunters in Beacon Hills. So, she had to create a lie off the top of her head. "Not that it's any of your fucking business, but this is the quickest route from my boyfriends house to mine. I was trying to get home quick so i could get ready for school" Lottie was honestly surprised by how easily the lie fell off her tongue, when had she gotten so good at lying? "Now you answer. Why are you here?" She asked back. Words: 207 || Notes: xxx

Her boyfriend let her leave the house in that state? Jade kept that train of thought to herself, it was something her sister probably would have said and although they had their similarities - being twins and all - Jade was not a replica of Erin. Licking her lips quickly, this air was very drying or maybe she was nervous? Who could blame her for being nervous though, she was being accused of bloody murder by some disheveled girl in the woods. She didn't want to be accused of anything.
"It's the first day of school. I'm new, I wanted a refreshing walk before I entered the depths of the damned." Jade answered after a moment, eyes twitching to the body on the ground for a moment. She couldn't exactly alert someone in her league to the body with this girl here, could she? Jade was certain that would be suspicious.
Turning her attention back to Charlotte, Jade let her body language become more open, less... defensive. "Look, I just found him, okay? Hunting bodies is not something I make a hobby of. Necrophilia is not my thing." Maybe the necrophilia point was unnecessary but hopefully it would put her in the clear because she was innocent - or at least she was so far.

If Lottie was honest, she knew this girl hadn't done it, and actually felt a bit bad for her. She couldn't imagine being in her position- first day at school in a new town, finding a dead body, a supernatural one at that, and then being accused of it. So, Lottie gave in with a sigh, letting her shoulders fall. "I believe you, okay? It's just blaming you was the easiest thing to do" She admitted, somewhat with reluctance as she brushed her hand through her freshly brushed hair. Like most people, Lottie hated admitting she was wrong, but in this case it was pretty much needed, so she dropped her pride and some of her suspicion and instead tried to focus on what to do next. She could hardly call the police, as what would she even say? 'Me and some random girl both managed to stumble upon a dead werewolf accidentally in the middle of the preserve' No, something said that wouldn't work. So, her mind went straight to the next person she could think of- Levi. Levi always knew what to do in these situations, and even if she didn't she might be able to clear Lottie's head a bit. "I have no idea what to actually do now, so i'm just going to call someone quickly. Wait here?" She asked, kind of unsure of why she was telling her to wait. If anything the other girl just made things more difficult, but she thought it was the right thing to say. Pulling out her phone, she began walking away from the girl and the body, afraid she would over here the conversation between her and Levi. That would just make things more complicated. Jade perked up all of a sudden, the girl was finally willing to believe that Jade hadn't done anything and that was all Jade needed to hear in that moment. Shoving her hands into her pockets, Jade wondered what the next step here would be. Did they just leave, waiting for some wild animal to hide the remains or did they contact the authorities. Erin would have a plan but Jade was not her twin and couldn't imagine what to do now.
Apparently this other girl didn't know what to do either. Huh. That made Jade feel a little bit better about the whole situation. "I'll wait." Only because Jade was curious as to who she was going to call. On the matter of phones, Jade pulled out her own considering messaging Erin about the whole scenario but she was probably asleep still. Nonetheless, Jade knew she needed to document this so, as subtly as she could, with her back turned to the girl, Jade snapped a photo of the body not liking the fact that she had to do it but knowing it could be helpful to her and her families aims.
Slipping her phone away, Jade turned her attention to the quiet conversation she could hear, obviously she could only hear one side of the chat and she could only hear snippets so overall, it wasn't helpful. Running her tongue over her lips, Jade willed the girl's conversation to end, standing here next to a dead body wasn't enjoyable.

Okay, so apparently Levi couldn't just fly back from Vegas to help Lottie sort out this mess. She thanked the girl then hang up the phone, but didn't go back right away. Honestly, she still didn't know what to do. All Levi had offered were some consoling words, a few snippets of useful tips, but not much overall. She also contemplated phoning Jamie, but she didn't know how well her firey headed friend would take this. Maybe one of the hunters? Rose? Lottie discarded the thought of Rose as quickly as she'd come up with it. The girls didn't like each other one bit, and she this situation didn't need more tension added to it. Finally she just gave up and sighed, realising she obviously didn't have anyone else she could call about this, so she just headed right back to the other girl. The girl who she didn't know the name of. "Well that was completely pointless. Sorry" Lottie said, walking back to the girl. Apparently Levi's words had helped a bit, because she did suddenly feel a bit more confident and in control of what was going on. Slipping her phone back into her pocket, she looked back at the stranger. "Maybe this would be slightly less awkward if we at least knew each other names? I'm Lottie" She said, trying to sound friendly, but not too friendly so it sounded like she'd forgotten where they were and why. Words: 241 || Notes: xxx

When the girl turned back around, Jade perked up, her shoulders lifting and her back straightening. Hopefully, now, they could leave. "Oh," was all Jade said at first, she'd maybe put too much faith in whoever the girl was calling coming through. Then again, didn't Jade need access to this body? A dead body that was supernatural was still better than no supernatural bodies. "It's okay..." This was said with more hesitation because it wasn't okay really, they'd found a dead body in the woods- that wasn't normal.
It only really occurred to Jade then that she didn't know the girl's name. Hearing it though, Jade decided it fitted the girl well, not that her opinion on her name mattered that much. "I'm Jade." After that Jade was't sure what else to do or say. "So," she began, searching for the right words to say but they really weren't coming - sometimes the English language just failed her. "Any idea as to what we should do? Maybe we should just leave...?" Jade trailed off, taking another step away from the body on the ground, wanting to distance herself from it as much as possible. The way she'd been so excited when she'd first found it had quickly changed without much prodding to do so.
