Erik had just gotten home from work. He worked at a gym. All he had to do was wash the towels and help people if they needed help. It was a good job for lazy people which erik was. He walked in to find the whole living room a mess. He then walked in a kitchen, that was a mess too. "Kai?!" If there was one thing erik hated most was and mess and right now he was pissed.

Kai's father had never been one to keep a whole lot of trinkets or anything of the sort. With them moving around so much, they never had a whole lot of possessions in general, but the few things that they did have were very important to Kai. One of the most important things was his father's watch. Kai couldn't remember a time when his father hadn't been wearing the gold thing. It had been taken off of his body after he died and given to Kai, and Kai rarely ever took it off ever since. But now he couldn't find it. He'd realized it about two hours before, and he'd practically torn the house apart looking for in since.
He hadn't heard Erik come in, so he almost jumped out of his skin when he heard Erik say his name. "What?!" he yelled at him, not actually mad at him. He was just scared that he'd lost the only thing he had left of his father.

Erik raised an eyebrow at Kai yelling. "Why are you tearing apart the whole fucking house? "Erik managed to ask calmly even though he really hated messes. He could tell that something wss upsetting kai but he couldn't figure out what.

Kai's eyes were red and puffy from crying, and his voice was hoarse. "My dad's watch," he stuttered out. "I-I can't find it. I've looked everywhere." He rushed into the next room and then saw the sparkling gold watch sitting in a pile of laundry. Practically pouncing on the thing, he grabbed it and then held it close to his chest. "Thank God," he whispered to himself as he sat down on the edge of his bed. Then, without any warning, he just started sobbing. It was like suddenly all of the pain that he had when his father first died was back, but this time it was so much worse.

Erik was busy cleaning the house not bothering to yell at kai. He felt bad for Kai even though he cause all of it. After getting most of the stuff cleaned up he went into Kai ' s room and saw him crying. It almost broke his heart. Almost. He picked up a box of tissues and walked up to Kai. "Here," He said putting out the box of tissues.

Kai had almost forgotten that Erik was even there until he walked into the room. Kai completely expected Erik to just laugh at him and tell him to get over it, or crack some gay joke, but he was taken off guard when he didn't do either of those things. Was Erik actually trying to be helpful? That was new. Seventeen years and not once had Erik ever actually helped him without some ulterior motive. "Thanks," Kai said with a sniffle, taking a tissue or two. He didn't want to be crying in front of Erik. It felt wrong to be crying about the loss of his father in front of the man who killed him.

Erik say awkwardly only the bed next to Kai. This whole he long thing was awkward for Erik. "If you wanna talk to somebody you can talk to me," Erik said genuinely caring. He was just not sure how to act. It's not like school taught he how to be nice.

Kai shook his head and then forced himself to stop crying. "No. I can't," he said. He hoped Erik would understand why. If it were anything else, Kai might have just poured his heart out to Erik, but not this. "Why did you do it? My father was never anything but kind to you. He took you in. He raised you. And you knew he was all I had left after my mom died. Was revenge really that important to you?" Kai wasn't trying to get into an argument, but he wanted to know what was really going on in Erik's head when he killed his father. He wanted an apology, but he knew that 1. Erik was far too egotistical to ever give him one and 2. it would never be enough anyways.

Erik wasn't sure what to say. Up until this moment he hadn't regretted killing Kai ' s dead. No one really seemed bothered by it except Ari and Kai. Ari was taken in by Kai ' s dad also when her parents passed away when she was 3. Kai ' s parents were her godparents and they raised her almost her whole life. So kai was like her brother.
Erik didn't think about their feelings despite them being his bestfriends. "I - I don't know," Erik said. He scratched the back of his neck. Why was helping people so hard?

Kai wasn't sure what he expected Erik to say to that, but it wasn't what he said. Kai just looked back down at the floor, unsure of what else he could possibly say. He put the watch back around his wrist with a loud click, then just stayed quiet for a long time. "Do you actually care about me at all?" he asked, honestly unsure of the answer. Kai had been at Erik's side forever, but never the other way around. Kai had once told Erik that he loved him, and Erik didn't return the notion. Did he care about him? Did he care about anyone?

Erik shook his head yes. He did care about Kai. He just didn't Care about anyone enough to stop sleeping around. He looked over at Kai. "Yeah I care about you," Erik said. Till being very awkward. Obviously making an effort to actually ell. He wasn't very good at it though. So fat the only good thing he did was offer tissues.

Kai was listening to Erik's heartbeat carefully just to know that he meant it. Swallowing hard, Kai just laid down on the bed, putting his head in Erik's lap. He wasn't completely sure what he was doing, but it made him feel slightly better. Not much, but it was progress, right? "I still love you," he said very quietly, but he knew Erik would still hear it. Somehow he wasn't thinking about Tyler in that moment. As much as he cared about Tyler, Erik was like a drug for him. He knew it was bad for him, but he couldn't stop himself from falling for him.

"You don't love me," Erik said quietly. He ran his hand through km ' s hair clakly. iT was soothing even for erik who was mormally pissed off about something. He didn't try to make a move with Kai he just tried to be there for him.

Kai practically melted when Erik slipped his fingers into his hair, but he didn't forget that Erik said. He looked up at him. "Why are you so scared by the idea that someone might genuinely care for you?" he asked. He felt like all he was doing was asking questions, but this one was only to prove a point. Kai knew how he felt, and Erik trying to deny that just annoyed him.

"I'm not. You love being with me. You love what you think I'm able to be. You don't love the guy who killed your dad or the guy who cheated on you. That's who I am." Erik said with a sigh. He looked down at Kai. He knew he was going to pull away even if erik didn't want him to
