It had been a particularly boring day for Sky, and when Sky was bored she started thinking, which always led to bad decisions. Getting drunk on the night of the dance was one of her many bad decisions. Between kissing Liam to telling him that she was in love with Levi, it wasn't her best night. But it was the latter that she was laid out on her couch trying to figure out at that moment. Did she really love Levi? Or was that just a drunken comment that didn't really mean anything. Well, she knew that it meant something, but she wasn't sure what. It was no secret that she liked Levi, at least a little bit. And whatever spark had happened between her and Jasper had died as quickly as it started. Frankly, Sky wasn't sure if she was just saying that she was still in love with Jasper because she was afraid to give Levi a chance. Why she was afraid of that, though, she had no idea.
But she decided that sitting around and thinking about all of this wasn't going to solve anything. So she jumped up off of the couch, changed out of her pajamas, and drove to Levi's house. She mustered up whatever courage she had in her and lifted her hand to ring the doorbell. Why was she so nervous? She'd been to this house a million times. Seen Levi a million times. But this time was different. She knew that. Or maybe she'd just chicken out again and it'd all go back to whatever illusion of "normal" they had left.

Levi's brain had been racing since the dance, a muddle of thoughts and questions and possibilities, half of which she didn't fully understand herself. Skylar loved her? That was a good thing, right? That meant - well, that meant that Skylar loved her - but what about Jasper? Wasn't that meant to be a thing, once upon a time? And it's not like feelings like that just went away, Levi knew that for sure. Hell, she'd had a crush on Sky possibly since she first befriended Jasper, although back then she'd been determined it was just admiration, because she was everything Levi had wanted to be when she grew up: funny, charming, irresistibly beautiful. It hadn't ever occurred to her that this wasn't exactly something everyone agreed on. Whatever was going on with the pair of them, Levi hadn't been able to get the damn girl off her mind and so, when the doorbell, she didn't even have to guess who could be standing on the other side.
Swinging her legs off her bed and slipping off, she made her way through the house to the door, honestly just glad that no one else was in right now. If Jasper answered that door, or it turned out Jasper was the person Sky was looking for - again - she wouldn't know what to think. Although it was already clear she wasn't sure on what to think right now, either. Smelling Skylar's perfume before she'd even opened the door, she swung it open and threw the girl a shy smile, hanging on the the doorknob as a sheepish, "hello," escaped her lips. She had no idea why Skylar had turned up today, but she had a feeling she'd find out, no matter what happened.

Skylar had been staring at the floor for an unknown amount of time while she waited for someone to open the door, praying it wasn't Jasper standing there when it did finally open. Looking up as she heard it open, she smiled at the blonde who had appeared there. "Hey," she said, her fingers forming a solid knot right at her ribs. "Um, can we talk about something? I mean, can I come in?" Skylar laughed at herself for being so nervous, but she couldn't help but be terrified. She knew that Levi liked her. That was very clear to her by now. It was her own feelings that were so terrifying. Because she knew that she would always have a weak spot in her heart for Jasper, even if she didn't love him anymore. If he came back to her, she wouldn't be able to stop herself from falling for him all over again. And Skylar couldn't hurt Levi like that. She just couldn't.

Levi just flashed a reassuring smile, unable to restrain herself from reaching gently for Sky's hand and squeezing it lightly, smelling the nervousness on the girl like it was some sort of new brand of perfume. She wanted her to know that it was okay, that whatever she'd come to talk about wasn't going to break them apart, or stop Levi from loving the girl any less than she already did. And then she remembered the school dance, and slowly pulled Skylar into the house, heading straight for her room as she kicked the front floor closed with her foot. What she was doing, she had entirely no idea; no one from school had never seen her room. Sure, she'd had friends over, had sleepovers (Jasper refused to be related to a social recluse, so a sleepover with one or two other misfits had been written into their sibling agreement long ago), but they'd all taken place in the living room or cinema room (because they actually had one of those), and so no one had ever been in before. It was kinda of daunting, but she figured that this conversation, if it was what she thought it was, deserved the bedroom privilege.
Slowly pushing the door of her room open, she pulled Skylar inside, finally letting go of her hand as she looked around, suddenly quite relived Jasper had made her tidy it a few days ago. The guy sometimes forgot that he was her brother, not her mother, but she didn't mind. After all, it's not like their mum had been up to anything motherly in years. Photos were scattered across the walls; Polaroids of her and Jasper when they were little, some just of the various scenery, mainly the woods, and others of their parents - there were very few pictures of Levi and her dad, or Jasper and his dad, but they could still be found if you looked at the decorated walls long enough. On another wall was a map, various pins and strings coming off with yet more pictures, all of the places Levi had been. Other pins in the map were just starred gold, whilst others were starred silver. The walls behind, if you could even see them, were painted a dark blue colour, and on the only wall that wasn't painted with photos were tiny lights, dotted around on the wall in lazy bundles to look like stars. It was the wall opposite this one that Levi's bed lay, the covers a similar blue as the walls. In the corner lay a desk with a laptop, an acoustic guitar, a mess of books that seemed like they hadn't quite made it to the library, and a few chairs. The only other fixture in the room was a door, and all that lay beyond that was a walk in wardrobe.
Carefully, Levi flicked the star-light wall on and moved over to the bed, gaze flickering back to look at Sky shyly. What was going to happen next, Levi had no idea, but for once she was willing to wait it out to find out.

Skylar followed Levi nervously, going over what she wanted to say in her head. The only problem was that she had no idea what it was that she actually wanted to say. Her thought process was cut off when she realized that they were in Levi's room. This wouldn't be that big of a deal if she had ever actually been in her room before. She'd practically lived at the Gold household growing up, but somehow she'd never actually been inside Levi's room before. She smiled slightly as she looked around at the room. It was a lot like her own room if you replaced the Polaroids with random sketches and the blue walls with dark red ones. Skylar never would have thought that Levi was so into photography or memories. She always seemed to push her past away instead of trying to preserve it. Once she had fully taken the room in, she looked back at Levi, taking a deep breath before finally speaking.
"I think I'm in love you," she said without even thinking. That definitely wasn't what she wanted to lead with, but she couldn't take it back now. "I mean...Oh my god, what am I doing?" she stuttered out, her heart beating so fast that she could hardly think. Sky ended up just staring at Levi nervously, waiting for her reaction.

Levi stopped short, her mouth pulled open to speak but cut off my Skylar's words. Sure, she already knew the first half, but she hadn't quite expected it to be quite so blunt - quite so honest. She'd expected there to be some nervousness (that, she could hear - Sky's heartbeat sounding through Levi's head like some sort of tribal drum beat), but she definitely hadn't expected such blatant honesty. How did you respond to that? Especially when Sky had just confessed something Levi already knew, even if she wasn't meant to. She'd planned how to talk to Sky about this before, she'd gone over every situation in her head - from saying it in the school halls to turning up at her house. She'd never once planned for Skylar to talk to her first. Ever. She'd assumed Sky would still choose Jasper over her, but apparently not. Whatever was going on in Sky's head, Levi wasn't planning on questioning. Slowly, a small smile curled at the corner of her lips, and she leaned into Skylar, pressing a slow kiss against the girl's lips before looking up at her from under dark lashes. She smelled like a mess of nervous sweat and perfume, but the distinct scent of Skylar was still here, hanging tightly in the girl's clothes and skin; the same smell Levi almost always associated with home, even if she'd never admitted it.
Skylar Rosemary was home to Levi Gold, even if she'd never quite realised it. "Please, don't be a dick about this, but I think I'm in love with you too."
Silently, she pulled away from Sky again, now fiddling nervously with the nervous bun she'd pulled her hair into earlier. All she could do was hope Sky had gotten the reference from their first kiss because, if she hadn't, Levi was positive she'd just made no sense at all. Oh well, at least it'd be no change from usual.

Whatever reaction Skylar had expected from Levi, this definitely wasn't it (not that she was complaining). Kissing her back happily, Skylar actually giggled a little at Levi's reference to the first time they'd kissed. It was so long ago that Skylar had almost forgotten about it. How had she not seen this before? Levi had always loved her, hadn't she? It was fairly obvious in hindsight, but Sky had been too obsessed with Jasper to realize it. "I'm so sorry," she said suddenly, but then she realized how odd that sounded out of context. "I mean, I'm sorry for not seeing it sooner. You must think I'm such a bitch." Though it was obvious Levi didn't think Sky was so bad considering she was still there, then again Skylar knew first hand what it was like to love and hate someone at the same time.
