Pierce stared at Mason in shock for a moment before leaning down next to him and trying to comfort him. "It's okay, Mason," he said sternly but not in a mean way. "You're safe now, okay? I'm here. You're going to be perfectly fine." Pierce just wanted Mason to be okay, and he was seeing things in him now that reminded him of his sister's PTSD. Hopefully this would fade away though. He was just traumatized by whatever had happened, but he'd be okay in a few days or so, right?
Preston was honestly surprised at how good Pierce was with Mason. They two of them didn't know each other very well, but Preston had written him off as a terrible person. This was starting to change his perspective a bit.

Mason bit his lip and just continued to cry. He looked at Pierce. His eyes meeting pierce's and he slowly came back just a little bit. After a few minuets of him and pierce in silence. He just spoke. "the-the cut says fag on it, " Mason said quietly. He showed his forearm to pierce. If pierce wasn't a werewolf he probably wouldn't have heard him. Mason was just scared that they'd come back. He was terrified of getting hurt again and howbdod that even know he was gay. Actually well the whole town knew so it wasn't that hard to figure out.

Pierce's eyes widened at the site of the cut on Pierce's arm. A certain anger bubbled up inside him that hadn't shown itself in quite some time. "I'm gonna kill that goddamn bastard," Pierce growled, but he pulled himself back. Turning in the middle of a hospital definitely wasn't a good idea. "Did you tell the police what he looked like or anything? Did you know him?" Pierce just wanted this guy to pay for what he had done to Mason.
Preston just stood there unsure of what to do. Mason obviously didn't want him there, but he wasn't going anywhere. He cared about his brother even if they butted heads a lot.

"I-I don't know it was dark, " Mason said quietly. "he-he was wearing a mask, " Mason ran his hand through his hair nervously. He didn't want to say more. He didn't say more. "I wanna go home, " Mason said quietly. He was clearly high off pain meds.

Pierce sighed, sitting down on the stool by Mason's bed. "You can't go home just yet. We have to get you better first, alright?" Pierce kept his hand wrapped around Mason's just so he would know that he wasn't going anywhere. He was sure Mason would probably fall asleep soon given the amount of meds he was on, but he wasn't really sure. He'd never actually used medicine before other than pot, if that counted.

Mason just looked at Pierce, "But I wanna cuddle with youuu, " Mason whined. His head making him feel dizzy.
Suddenly a doctor came in. She looked at Preston. "Are you Preston Miller?" she asked. She had some more things to tell him.

Pierce smiled tightly at Mason as just leaned towards him to kiss his forehead. "I love you," he said quietly, nervous that Preston would hear it for some reason. Bot that it mattered, he was a werewolf.
Preston looked up with relief when the nurse came in because he was beginning to feel awkward. "Yes, is everything alright?" Preston asked, suddenly feeling his stomach twist nervous.

Mason smiled, "I love you too, " his voice got quieter as he snuggled against the pillow and slept. He needed the sleep anyway. Hopefully it would be a nice sleep.
--
The nurse smiled tiredly. She went outside with Preston. "Well we've noticed that he's not reacting very well to what actually happened. We've been monitoring his actions and he's showing very early signs for a PTSD. This normally happens when something traumatic happens in a person's life. The cops weren't able to talk to him because of it. You may want to consider taking Mason to a doctor if the signs persist a week from now, " the doctor said.

Pierce listened to what the nurses said while still looking at Mason. PTSD. Shit. Pierce had seen what PTSD could do to a person, and he wouldn't wish that upon anyone, especially Mason. It had the potential to completely control his life, and that made Pierce scared. It also made him want to rip the head off of the guy who did this that much more. --- Preston nodded. He'd dealt with PTSD before in a few of the clients at the firm, but never closely enough to know just what it did to people's lives. But he knew good and well that it wasn't something to joke around about.

"We think it was an attack on gays. It's been happening a lot lately," the nurse said. "We want to try to question him as soon as possible, well the police would," the nurse said.
---
Lia was hanging out with Xavier and Abby when she got a message from pierce. She quickly left her two friends got to the hospital. They showed her the room and Lia walked in to just see Pierce there. "Is he okay? Do you know what's going on?" Lia asked. She couldn't ask Preston. Preston was busy.

Preston nodded again. "Okay. Thank you," he said, but he didn't look very happy at all. How could he? It would have been different if this was just a random mugging, but this guy had specifically targeted Mason for being gay. Or at least that's what they thought. What if he decided to come after him again? --- Pierce sat and stared at Mason as he slept, glad that he was able to fall asleep. Hopefully he would sleep well. Pierce looked up when Lia came in, and Pierce moved Mason's arm so that Lia wouldn't see it. "He will be. Some guy mugged him...they think it was because he's bi. But they're going to find him. They better hope they get to him before I do," Pierce explained.

"They - they mugged him?" Lia asked. She sat down on the chair across from Pierce. "Who would do such a thing?" Lia asked. She looked at her brother who looked really beat up. She looked at Pierce.
Lia wanted Preston out here. She wanted to see what the doctor told Preston. The nurse was talking to Preston.

Pierce shook his head and shrugged. "But you can be damn sure that I'm going to find out," he said, his jaw clenching as he looked back at Mason. Pierce was afraid that this guy would come back, so he had to be sure that he didn't have the chance. --- Preston finished speaking with the nurse and walked back into the room. "Oh Lia, hi," Preston said, seeing his sister there now. It didn't surprise him at all though. Nate was out of town or he probably would have been there too.

"What did the nurse say?" Lia was quick to jump on her brother. "Is he gonna be okay?" Lia asked. She was very protective over her brothers. Even though she was it the and probably couldn't do anything it someone attacked her.

Preston nodded, but then stopped himself. "Well, he's going to be okay eventually. The bones and bruises will heal, obviously. But they think he might have some mental things going on too. But it's nothing that we can't fix," he said to Lia.
It's nothing we can't fix. Something about that statement set Pierce off. Probably because it was the same thing his father said when he found out he was bi. "You say that as if you actually care," he said under his breath, but he was sure that Preston could hear it.
Preston's ears perked up at Pierce's statement. "What?" Preston said quickly. "Of course I care. You have to right to say otherwise." Preston didn't like when people outside of their family made assumptions about them.
Pierce just rolled his eyes. "I have every right," he said bluntly. "I'm the one who's been there for him. When he got in a car accident, I was the one who supported him and helped him get back to normal. When your parents kicked him out, I was the one that took him in and told him that what they thought of him didn't define him. Every time he's ever needed someone, I've been there. And where the fuck were you? Off knocking up sixteen year olds and acting like your some kind of fucking God, but guess what? You're not. And you don't care about him nearly as much as you act like you do." Pierce was standing now, and he'd let go of Mason's hand somewhere during his rant.
Preston just stood there silently, glared at Pierce, then walked out of the room angrily. He wasn't going to argue with the boy, and he sure as hell wasn't going to stand there and let him talk to him that way.
