Mason was back in his house. Him and his parents made up and now he was here. He was in the kitchen making food. He had been avoiding Preston. He didn't want to talk to Preston. He didn't want anything to do with Preston. Preston couldve helped him but no Preston decided to ignore the that Mason was gone. Mason putting his dishes in the dishwasher when he heard someone come down the stairs. He sighed and began finishing what he was doing.

Preston had been upstairs with Hope looking at houses all day, trying to figure out if it was really worth moving out or not. The house was basically his at this point, except he didn't have to pay for any of it. It was a pretty good deal if you thought about it. But Preston didn't want to be that guy with a kid who still lived with his parents.
Hope started fussing a little, which meant that it was lunch time. "Okay, come on sweets," he said, lifting her out of her crib. She quieted down when he picked her up. "Hey," Preston said to Mason as he walked into the kitchen and started making Hope's bottle.

Mason just ignored Preston and continued what he was doing that was until Hope started making grabby hands at the bottle and Mason laughed a little. He couldn't ignore Hope it was impossible. Hope was too cute to be mad at her too.

Preston laughed with Mason a little. Then turned to him and asked, "Can you hold her for a sec? This is hard to do with one hand." Preston was completely oblivious to the fact that Mason was mad at him, so he was just acting like he always would.

Mason just rolled his eyes and took Hope. "hey there hope, " Mason said with a smile. Hope started to play with Mason's lip ring which made Mason laugh. "what do you want a lip ring when you're older? Uncle Mason will make sure to get you one, " Mason teased. He was definitely being more talkative when talking to hope than talking to Preston.

Preston laughed as he finished Hope's bottle. "Or not," he said. "My daughter will not put metal in her face." Preston judged Mason more than he should, but it was only because he wanted Mason to fit his image of a good person. It wasn't his best character trait, but it wasn't completely his fault either. It was just how he was raised.

"oh yeah because getting metal on her face is sooo bad wow, " Mason said sarcastically. He bounced her and she began giggling. "she'll instantly join a gang and everything. Say goodbye to your daughter if she puts metal in her face," Mason said continuing his sarcasm.

Preston rolled his eyes. "That's not what I was saying. I just think they don't look very attractive. And you name one person you know that has piercings that's actually done something good with their life," Preston said, raising an eyebrow at Mason. Maybe he was being a bit harsh, but he couldn't help it. He took Hope back from Mason and put her in her high chair at the table and started feeding her the bottle.

"Oh what so I'm not successful?" Mason asked. He so badly wanted to point out that he actually get into college on a partial scholarship for his essay but he hadn't told anyone he actually got into college. He just glared at pierce. "and look how much you've down. You dated a sixteen year old and knocked her up. "

Preston raised an eyebrow at Mason. "I also got into Harvard, and I've actually made a future for myself. That's more than I can say for you," he said. Preston was trying not to get angry because he knew it would upset Hope, but Mason had that effect on him.

"because I'm a major fuck up. Sorry I don't live to impress you, " Mason said. "the person I hurt in a car accident is nicer to me than my own brother. Wow. That's a new low. You should win an award, " Mason said sarcastically. He didn't understand why he didn't just go upstairs.

Preston scoffed. "Did you ever consider the fact that I just want the best for you?" he said. "Mom and Dad would rather just kick you out and disown you, but no. I tried to make them understand you. And they do now. Do you have any idea how much shit I had to go through to get you out of jail time? You could have gotten murder changes, and I saved you from that. But no, I'm a horrible brother." Preston wasn't yelling, but only because yelling would make Hope cry and he hated seeing her cry. She almost never did.

"Maybe I should've just gone to jail just to save everyone the trouble." Mason said quietly. Mainly cause if Hope started crying he'd feel bad. "if you wanted the best for me you'd realize I'm happy with who I am." Mason said. He hated that everyone tried to change him. Mason didn't want to change. He was happy with himself.

Preston sighed. "But you won't be in ten years when you're broke and you can't afford to live your life," he said quietly. Hope finished her bottle so Preston then took her to the living room and laid her out on a blanket and started handing her toys to play with. She giggled happily and grabbed at them.

"and how do you know one of my books won't get published before ten years. That sure would make me money and somewhere in my life, " Mason said. He looked at his phone and pretended like what Preston said didn't bother him at all.
