Odd as it was, Leon was going to a sleepover. Not just any ole bundle of pillows and establishment of secrets, but he was spending Christmas Eve with Rose. They had been hatching out a plan in Science class for the last week, laying out the events of the night with the utmost amount of eagerness. Rules were laid out by both of their parents about the fact that they were a teenage boy and girl, but they just rolled their eyes at them. Leon and Rose were nothing but pals, nothing would happen. It was just a pair of best friends worshipping Disney and waiting for Santa to arrive. Nothing more.
No one needed to worry about it.
It was finally time. The day of the big day that would either strengthen their friendship, or send it crashing into tiny pieces. What if something terribly awkward happened and he couldn't stand to be around her with crippling with an unbearable embarrassment? Leon may talk in his sleep, or pee the bed, or accidentally forget to lock the bathroom door and she would walk in or if she caught him rummaging through her stuff or, god, what if he slept walked and ended up in bed cuddling her older sister, Natalia? Now he was just working himself up. It would be okay, probably.
Letting the thoughts drift, Leon packed his bags, stuffing various items of clothes into his bag and hoping he wouldn't forget something vital. Toothbrush and electronics? Check. Socks and underwear? Check. Ridiculous Christmas pajamas? Check. Clothes for the next day? Check. Little box with a bow? Check.
There was no way Leon would show up to a Christmas sleepover without a present for his host.
It was nearing five in the evening, and Leon was only now just rolling into her drive. Parking his truck, he grabbed his bag and inhaled sharply. This was it. Scrounging up all his courage, he waddled up to her front door, knocking lightly. He was going to be sleeping in the same house as his female friend he'd known for a month, tops- if that.
It was nerve racking.

This wasn't the first time Rose had had a male friend come and sleep round her house but with Liam it had always been different, she'd known him for so long that he was a constant in her and her families life. Leon was different though, Natalia seemed particularity curious about him. Rose vowed to make it a fun, easy going night though and in the morning they'd wake up and it would be Christmas, Christmas spent with a friend who had come into her life when she'd felt completely lost.
The whole house smelt of baking, gingerbread with an undertone of bacon mixed in with the tantalizing smell of a large real Christmas tree and peppermint candles. This was the Harper family when they weren't our hunting innocents (or not innocents, they still did that, occasionally) and when they weren't hiding huge secrets from each other. Rose had no clue as to how Natalia coped during the full moon, she was never around for the day before and after it. Unfortunately Leon was probably going to meet Rose's entire family that day since no one was out and with three generations under the same roof, Christmas was a family affair.
Hearing a knock at the door, Rose beat her brother to the door with a small giggle before throwing the door open and giving Leon a grin. "Hey, come inside out of the cold... well, the California cold." Beckoning Leon inside with her hand, Rose shot Alex a glare as he stood leaned against the wall a mischievous twinkle in his eye.

All Leon could manage to do was pop a chuckle at her jab at the weather and shake his head. It wasn't that cold, not to him anyways, but that didn't stop him from darting into the house with a calm sense of swagger. His bag tight against his back, he kept his eyes glued onto Rose for a moment before glancing at the man leaning against the wall who he could only assume was her brother since he was a bit too young to be the father of a teenager. Boldly, he offered the man his hand and spoke in his ever-charming accent, introducing himself, "Leon Pratt." Aware that their was many other residents in the home, he knew that he'd be saying his own name quite a bit this evening.
Casting a cautious look over his shoulder at Rose while he waited for her brother, who's name he was fairly sure was either Adam or Alex (normally he was good with names, but he'd only heard about this man once so he couldn't place it), to shake his hand in return, he hoped he was doing the right thing here. Would her family take to his overwhelming polite manor well? Would they pick at him for speaking so posh and being so neat? It was little things that got to him, teasing generally his weakness given his past. Rose didn't know about the bullying he'd suffered and he intended on keeping that way. This was a new life, that was behind him. Leon grew from the torture and now he would prosper.
The smile still eager on his lips, his mind drifted to the whereabouts of her other family members, in particularly Natalia who he'd heard some great deal about.

Shutting the door behind Leon, Rose turned around just in time to see Leon offering Alex his hand to shake. Grinning slightly, Rose met Leon's eye and the Alex's before her brother said. "I'm Alex, the better, hotter twin and Natalia is the grumpy, rain-cloud twin." Rose simply rolled her eyes at her brother, wondering how Leon was going to take this introduction, hopefully in a lighthearted way. Once Alex had released Leon's hand with a cheeky smile, Rose tugged at Leon's arm, "come on, we can drop your stuff off." Rose told him before leading the way upstairs and into her bedroom. It was big enough for the both of them with Rose on the bed and Leon on the floor (it was a very comfortable situation though with a mattress and warm duvet as well as access to a plug socket).
The main cause of the peppermint smelling candles were from Rose's bedroom so she took a moment to blow all but one out. She had a slight obsession with them. "If we go the kitchen to get food, you will bump into more of my family, is that alright?" Rose didn't want him to feel uncomfortable, that was not the kind of person she was.

"I'll take your word on that," Leon joked in return, even allowing a soft chuckle to brush over his lips at Alex's joke- well, what he assumed was a joke. For all he knew, the man was being brutally honest and this Natalia girl he'd heard ao much about was just a bitter hag. Not that looks ever bothered him anyways, they didn't make a person, personalities did. Lips parted to ask more about the man, he didn't get a chance, for he was being torn away from the man and carted towards a hallway. Rose's voice was soft in his ears, explaining what was going on with ease. Nodding along to her words, he glanced around the house, following her in suit while taking it all in. The place was beautiful and very well etched out. The layout seemes similar to his own, which made sense considering he lived just a few blocks away and all the house screamed if similarity.
Falling back to reality once they entered the room he took to be hers, he chuckled at the set up. Glancing around once, he smiled and stepped towards the mattress on the floor. It looked cozy enough, and even if it wasn't Leon wouldn't ever say so. Setting his bag down, he turned just in time to see Rose blowing out a number of candles. Chuckling at her, he shook his head and replied with a gentle voice, an eager smile on his lips, "It's quite alright. I'd love to meet them." His voice was chipper, his polite British ways slipping through his husky exterior.
