Honestly, the only reason she was here putting up with these pesky clusters of Americans was because Leon needed a gift for Christmas. She couldn't care less about getting something for her parents, they didn't deserve anything after all they'd put her through. Her brother, though, he kept her in line and sane her in this new land. He was her rock and for that she was grateful. Without that gentle giant, she'd have gone mad and just lived in the woods until nature took hold of her life- aka a hungry bear needed a snack.
So, shoving through the crowds of sniffling children wailing for their parents to buy them some toy they'd be bored of in days and elderly couples who didn't realize how slow they were walking, Willow marched on to find a present suitable for her big brother- her hero. Cologne was cheesy and clothes were boring. He was too old for toys and too kind to prank with lingerie. What could she get a boy like him? She was tempted to buy him a new leather jacket considering his current one was worn thin, but it wasn't special enough. Nothing would come to mind- she'd never been the best with shopping.
Sighing, Willow continued to crawl through the crowd until it became too dense and she had to retreat into the confines of a perfume store. Definitely not a place to find a gift for Leon, but maybe she could snag up something for herself. Biting her lip, she headed to the outskirts of the store, not wanting to draw attention to herself- which was normal. As dramatic as she could be, she preferred to stay docile until poked with a stick. Head ducked down into her scarf, she cuddled herself, inhaling a heavenly sent before she became very self-conscious. She felt eyes on her, and it made her uncomfortable. Casting her gaze across the room, she met the eyes of a brunette girl who seemed harmless enough and roughly her size. Tossing her a hesitant smile, she wondered what to do next.
Was the girl going to come over here or what?

Eva was out and about in the mall, a couple of bags already in her hands. This was something she could do. Loose herself in a bit of retail therapy, everything was fine, peaceful there and Eva loved it. The decorations around the shops helped, too. So did the Christmas music which seemed to be pumping from every single shop that she passed or went in to. Eva had easily slipped back into Beacon Hills life after her stint if France, not quite forgetting everyone from France though. Pushing the thought away, Eva tried to find something to get for her mum. Perfume seemed relatively safe.
Hustling her way inside, Eva's eyes scanned the rows of bottles, trying to guess what her mother would like. Something subtle and gentle probably. Which was the opposite of the shop, man, it stank. Heading towards the back of the shop, Eva was eyeing up a oval shaped perfume bottle which supposedly smelled like 'happiness and spring' when she looked up to just catch the eye of another girl. Was that the new girl? Eva wasn't too sure. Responding to the smile with a smooth one of her own, Eva wondered what to do.
Maybe she should go over. Yeah, that seemed like a good, normal idea. "You look lost, shopping not your thing?" Eva asked as she reached the girl.

Well, this was progress on the whole 'socializing' thing her parents insisted she did. They figured if she had friends or a boyfriend that she'd be happier here in her new home- which she didn't even consider this place was, really. So clearly she wasn't convinced on the topic, figuring she'd be in a constant state of misery until she was old enough to get out of this place and head back to Wolverhampton. Until then, she supposed at least trying to make a friend wouldn't be that bad. Having only her older brother to turn her was a bit frustrating. She had Lottie, but they weren't that great of friends yet. There was Erik, but he wasn't the most chattable. Really, all she had was Leon and she was sick of tossing all her troubles on the poor boy.
It was time for a bit of a change. Talking to this girl wouldn't hurt, but she refused to tell her parents that she did this. They didn't need the satisfaction of it to feed off of. Setting down the perfume she had snatched up and sniffed as the girl walked over, the air around her smelled thickly of 'vanilla rain'. Offering her a gentle smile, Willow looked up at the slightly taller female, shrugging as she explained in her chipper accent, trying desperately to wash out her irritation with the crowd away, "Not quite. I'm horrid at it, really. No clue on what to get." It was the truth, as she saw no point in lying to the stranger.
Though, she had a familiar face, and Willow couldn't stop herself from tilting her head curiously and asking, "Do you go to Beacon Hills High?" She felt as though she'd seen her around or if maybe she was in one of her classes- she really didn't know, but she was sure she'd seen her face before.
Or maybe she'd just lost it.

Ah, just as expected, it was easy to spot someone who really didn't want to be where they were; Eva had been like that for the majority of the time she'd lived in France. "Christmas shopping is always the worst. Even worse that having to shop for new school supplies." Eva said with a smile, one side of her mouth cocked up higher than the other, trying to make the girl slightly happier or at least more comfortable. At the girl's question Eva felt her smile split into a small laugh. "Yeah, I go to Beacon Hills, you're the new girl from England, right?" Eva responded before realizing that maybe that was the wrong thing to say, she;d probably heard that enough as it was. "I'm Eva and you are?" Eva asked, jutting out her hand for the other girl to shake.

"Christmas and birthday shopping are my weaknesses," she groaned, fingers fiddling with the cap of a perfume just in reach of her outstretched hand as she turned towards the girl some more, "Makes me realize how poorly I really know people." Managing to even crack a giggle at her words, Willow peered down at her feet, cheeks burning from smiling. It was still a foreign thing for her to do, happiness slowly finding her again after a weeks of being supressed. She didn't want to admit it, but it was kind of okay here. She hated the place still, and wanted to go back home, but Beacon Hills was no longer necessarily unbearable. Glancing back up as the girl questioned where she was from, she fought back some sassy remark about her accent not giving that away and simply nodded with a small smile. She'd heard the question left and right since she'd gotten here, and in her current moody state most people didn't stick around after her answer. Noting the girl's name, she allowed herself to smile genuinely. Taking her hand without a moment of hesitation, she chirped in a light tone, "I'm Willow." Her face lit up some, cheeks tight against her face as she gave the girl's hand a squeeze, eyes unmoving from her face. An odd change of character.

"Oh, even I struggle with birthday shopping, especially for my parents." Eva agreed with ease, shoving her hands into the pockets of her dark blue jeans, bags loped around her wrists batting against her legs. Nodding at Willow's comment about present buying revealing how well you knew someone, Eva recalled a time when her supposed 'best friend' bought her a box of nail polish despite the fact that the week before she'd discussed how much she hated it. Smiling as the girl took her hand Eva thought how pretty she looked with a smile on her face. Not letting the thought linger too long, Eva returned her hand back to her pocket.
"So, did you want some help with your shopping because trust, I can do that?"

"Don't even get me started on my parents," Willow dragged with a roll of her eyes, voice restraining a moam of irritation. She still held a grudge against them for doing this to her, but she wasn't going to delve into that anger when she was just lighting up. Shaking her head some at her own statement, she brought her hands across her chest, hugging herself as she debated internally how to respond to Eva's offer. It wouldn't hurt to have her help, not really, and she may end up with a friend at the end of the day. God knew she needed some of those.
"Help would be great," she finally said, taking in how incredibly adorable Eva was before setting her gaze back on her face with a soft smile. Maybe today wasn't so bad.

Grinning at the fact that Willow had agreed to her help, Eva realised the recent change in her personality. She was no longer pining over the things, the people she'd lost in France. No, this town with it's madness was where she belonged. "Yay! Did you want to look around this stinky shop or are you done in here?" Eve asked, adjusting the weight of her shopping bag slightly, it was heavier than she had first intended for it to be. Ah well, she'd survive. Giving Willow a small smile, Eva wondered how she was finding America, how she was finding Beacon Hills.
