Tired. Angry. Clueless. Rose slammed the front door to her families house shut, everyone else was out... everyone besides her dear sister that was, the one person she needed to see. Chucking her bag down onto the front of the stairs, Rose moved into the kitchen, fists clenched up around her sides. "Natalia, I swear," Rose began just as her sister looked up, shooting her a glare, stopping any other words she was going to say, Rose hoisted herself up onto the side of one of the kitchen cabinets, a place she was usually forbidden to sit on but Natalia didn't care. Natalia put down the piece of paper she was reading and spun around to face Rose.
"Rose, what do you want? She sounded tired, they all were, they'd been out hunting the night before with no luck besides some bloodied footprints leading deeper into the forest. They'd chosen not to go after someone who was already injured, let them suffer, Natalia had said.
Rose knew exactly what she wanted. She waned the full story, every single last bit of truth. "Answers, Natalia. You still haven't told me the whole entire reason as to why we're doing this. As to why I've lost all of my friends and no one looks me in the eye other than to glare. Natalia, I can't do this anymore if I don't know everything and not just some petty excuses like 'you were trying to save the children' and 'you saw them tear some poor person limb from limb' because even if that is true, it's not enough, not anymore." By this point, Natalia was watching Rose with a calculating expression on her face as if waiting for her to say something else or to give Natalia more of a reason to say everything. After more moments of complete silence, Natalia sighed leaning her back against the counter opposite Rose.
"Rose, you know the code. The one where it says that if you're turned you kill yourself, you know the honor code." Rose nodded, unsure as to where this was going. "Well, maybe you should guess what happens next." Rose had no idea, nothing Natalia had said so far was anything new to Rose, she was well aware of the honor code. "No, you don't want to guess? Okay then.
"Whilst I was away, I figured that if someone were to disregard part of the code... They might as well ignore it all. Do you understand now?" And Rose did and her face was a look of fear, of horror as she hopped off of the counter and picked up the closest knife she could find. "Ah, you do and you want to know what's even better?" Rose shook her head, backing away, blade pointed towards her sister. "No one else knows, so if they suddenly all do, I know to kill you first." Rose screamed then, just as her sister growled at her, a threatening sound. That was all it took for Rose to bolt despite the fact that she'd come face to face with werewolves before, they weren't Natalia and suddenly everything made sense.
Running from her house, Rose ran until she could no longer breathe, slumped down on the path, feet pushed out into the road, as her head was pressed down onto her arms, trying to steady her heart.
Her sister Natalia was a werewolf and she had set off the war to kill off what she now was, just so that she didn't have to die herself.

A week, he'd survived a week of school, surprisingly. It was all still quite confusing- the schedules and the environment, but he'd managed to make a few friends. Well, he considered them as that much, at least. This girl in science was kind enough to him, volunteered to be his partner for a project without hesitation. Leon expected that she had an ulterior motive, but she hadn't made a move yet for which he was grateful. There was a boy in gym who'd he'd immediately hit it off with, and they were easily best friends at this point. No one could ever replace his four best mates back in England, but this was a good start. Then there was Rose. She was nice enough, and they seemed to be friends, but he just couldn't place how she felt around him. Normally he was great with people, but with her he didn't know where he stood. They'd eatenly lunch together, and suffered through history together- well, actually, it was more like he was eager and she was dreading, but same thing. They chatted and ate together, he even let her leech off of his homework which was something he normally didn't do. He was firm on the belief that if it was meant to be done, people had to do it themselves. With Rose, it was different. Leon just wanted to help her as much as he could. It wasn't the kind of help he'd done to win his (now ex because of the move) girlfriend, Sophia, over- it was more genuine and overall friendly.
He only had good intentions.
Leon was anything but a bad guy. He had high morals, a good heart, and a charming sense to him that made him easy to get along with. He did have his quirks, of course. There was his uncanny awkwardness that every now and then took over his speech. Not to add the health problems- kidney, that is. Oh, can't forget the fact he was bullied for years, beaten to a pulp for whatever reason deemed fitting to the kids who were attacking him. Only recently had he made something of himself, dropped the titles and grew into the charismatic young man he was now. It'd taken years of convincing, but he had managed to get a girlfriend and landed a few friends before rising to some level of fame there. So the move, it really hadn't hurt him. Even if he was doing well, Leon was all too eager to just start fresh. He wasn't the chubby ten year old who was pushed down for sticking to the rules, he was an attractive British kid who wasn't shy to talk. He was new, and improved. This was for the best.
Not that he could say the same for his sister, but Willow was another story.
For now, Leon was heading home from checking out the local stores. He was still iffy on driving, so he was marching down the streets, head held high and arms tight against his chest. The wind was nippy, but this was nothing compared to that of his home. It was nice. Hair combed back in its usual lazy quiff, a hint of facial hair kissed his jawline, his muscular definition well defined under the leather coat. Home, nearly. About a block or two and he'd be facing a typical Saturday night at home with his adjusting family, but he was stopped. A girl sat on the sidewalk, and his need to help urged him her way.
But he stopped short. The girl was all too familiar.
"Rose?"

At first Rose startled at the noise but a slight twist of recently familiar British accent calmed her, well, to as calm as she was before. What was she going to say? Maybe, maybe Leon would go away and not think that she was crazy. No, Natalia was the crazy one, not Rose, Rose refused to be crazy, not yet anyway. Taking a long breath before looking up, Rose was glad that she was yet to cry or sob.
"Yes, it's me sat on the side of a road, out of breath because I've been running and am ridiculously unfit for a h-" No, Rose could not say hunter, "teenager." Rose corrected herself, with a small rub of her neck, hoping he hadn't noticed too much. Making no move to stand up now, Rose suddenly felt a slight chill creep across her skin, a sickening feeling in her gut as the push of adrenalin slowly seeped out of her body. "Also, hello, Leon."

Crouching down beside the brunette as he realized she had no intention on moving quite yet, he let a soft smile kiss his lips as she spoke. Not taking note of her near slip up, he slowly eased off his leather jacket and wrapped it around her thin shoulders, making sure it was nice and firm around her shivering body. He was used to the weather, so he was fine without it. Even if he wasn't, she needed it more than he did. Ditching his awkward position for a seat on the sidewalk beside her, he tucked his palms against his thighs, facing her with the upmost concern laced on his face.
Were they good enough friends gor him to be doing this? Didn't matter, he wasn't leaving until she was okay. Truly okay, not just a brush-off 'fine' kind of okay. "Hello, Rose," he said softly, his voice more than polite as he grinned larger at the sight of her tiny body in his large coat. "May I ask why you're sat on the side of the road and out of breath?" He may have been pushing it, but he wouldn't force her into answering anything. Leon just wanted to make sense of the situation, as well as ease her mind.
If he only knew the half of what was going on in her life.

The pressure of his jacket around her was reassuring and Rose smiled gratefully up at him. As her body warmed up she wondered if Leon would be okay with the cold, deciding that the moment he showed a sign of being cold Rose would give it back to him, Rose settled back down in the jacket, snuggling into it. Turning to look back at him, Rose could see the concern, the worry in his eyes. It was nice to have a friend again.
Tilting her head as he grinned, Rose felt her smile grow a bit more, he was an easy distraction to Natalia and well, the rest of her life. "You may ask." Rose responded quickly before taking a few moments of silence to think of a way to answer him in a way which was both honest but not so honest that he would be scared off and would run into the hills, taking his coat with him. "I am sat here because I had a...fight with my sister and I don't deal well with confrontation with my family. Anyone else I can argue with to the moon and back, just not them. I think I ran quite a way though because I shouldn't be this out of breath." Not after years of training for her body to be the fittest it could be.
She was surprised to have told him all of that, even if it wasn't in truth, that much.

The cold had never bothered him, well, not this kind anyways. Here in Beacon Hills it was just chilly, it'd never be graced with the snow his house back in England often received. Not only was this temperature mediocre to him, but his physique offered him a constant radiating heat. He was just a bundle of warmth under his shield of muscle (and as soon as he figured out how the game worked, he planned on keeping up his fit form through playing lacrosse). Often the one people would cuddle with out of desperation to rid themselves of the cold, he was the 'oven' as his mother liked to claim. So if need be, if the jacket wasn't enough for the shivering girl, Leon wouldn't be a stranger to a friendly hug to keep her fingers from falling off.
Enough with the weather, Rose was speaking- explaining. Leaning forward some, he cupped his chin in his hand, resting his elbow against his knee. Pursing his lips, he nodded with understanding- he personally didn't fight with his family, but Willow did. A lot. She just butt heads with their parents, still not pleased with the move. Leon was meant to be the peace maker, so in a situation like this he was mighty helpful. Allowing her to finish, he nearly cracked a joke about her sister to lighten the mood, but decided against it to save from any awkward confrontation. Nibbling on his bottom lip, he studied her facial expressions for just a moment before nodding and adding a bit of advice in his calm, and cool voice.
"You know, sometimes it's okay to fight," his voice was soothingly gentle, head tilted back as he dropped his palm to his other wrist, fingers fiddling with the long sleeves of the shirt that kept his inked skin a secret, "I mean- I don't know the situation exactly and you don't have to tell me, but sometimes you just have to listen to what they say. It may he harsh, cruel, or threatening, but think about it. There is a reason for everything and they wouldn't say it if they didn't want you to hear it. They want help more times than not, so whatever it was that went down, just think about what was said. She could be lowkey asking for help, or just releasing pent up aggression at herself on you. I don't know what she's like, but if she's anything like you, you'll be able to get over this because I know how pure your heart is." He was filled with hope, always seeing the bright side, and he only this was helping in the slightest. Deciding to move on from the serious talk for a moment, he teased, "Maybe you should head to the gym with me sometime so we can get fit, eh?"

"You're very good at advice, Leon." Rose told him quietly before settling into a few moments of silence. His words were on loop through her head, maybe Natalia thought telling Rose would help. Maybe she wanted Rose's help; it would be the first time if that was the case. Natalia rarely asked for help but judging her situation, Rose's sister was pretty helpless. Most of all though, she was a coward. Face scrunching up in concentration as she thought. Another thing Leon said came to her pure heart, oh if only he knew how she'd betrayed her friends, her boyfriend, the boy she loved for the sake of not being on her families bad side.
Losing track of time, Rose wasn't sure how long she'd sat silent, staring at a stray pebble in the middle of the road, thankful that so far no cars had come by. "The gym?" Rose piped up after a moment, slipping out the sober mood she'd been in to turn her attention back to her friend, "I haven't been in years, I tend to just run." And train at home, Rose added silently in her mind. "I probably should start going again though, it's a plan."

Personally, Leon thought he was iffy on advice giving. There was a fifty-fifty chance that he'd be helpful, and often he ended up just babbling and hoping that it was at least a tidbit supportive. Talking he was great with, he could fill a silence to the moon and back, but once people sat him down and asked for a verbal assistance on their hardship, well, he did the best he could. In this case, he had some background knowledge on the subject of bickering families, so he was more firm on the thought that he was doin good by speaking rather than harming. Smiling at her compliment nonetheless, he glanced around the road, praying that they'd be lucky enough to not get hit by a car during the span of this conversation.
Perking back up as she began to speak again, he hadn't realized how long they were in silence. He was too busy internally planning how he would manage to get Rose out of the street if a vehicle sped past to save her, and she was most likely soaking in his words. Grinning as she agreed, he nodded with her words. "You can run at the gym," he suggested, combing a lazy hand through his hair as he added, "Where is the gym exactly?" Laughing anxiously, he seriously didn't know. This place was still very foreign after all.

"Myself and treadmills have a bad history. Largely because my brother put it on one of the highest speeds and I fell off, it wasn't funny at the time but thinking about it now, I see the banter in the action." Rose admitted with a chuckle, fingers fiddling at the edge of the cuff, it was too long on her arms, shielding her hands from the wind. Ah, the gym. Rose had to think pretty hard to remember where it was, "I think it's in the mall somewhere? Like up on the top floor where people don't tend to go. There's one at school, too." The school's gym was mainly used by the lacrosse players, is Rose tended to not go there and be preyed on my by sweaty teenage boy eyes.
Thinking about lacrosse bought another question to mind, "do you know how to play lacross, Leon? Because you seem like the type to be good at it."

Leon couldn't stop the hysterical shock from crossing over his features at her confession. A argumentative sister and a treadmill accident prone brother- interesting. He had suspected she was an only child honestly, but apparently not. Giggling like a child, he imagined a man with a face very similar to hers slamming his finger down on the up button and cackling as Rose fought to battle the increasing level of speed until she finally couldn't take it and inevitably slid off the machine in a heap of limbs. Placing his palm to his mouth, he tried to confine his laughter, but it was useless. Gradually, he calmed, a chuckle or two creeping out of his lips as he watched her fiddle with his jacket, eyes watering slightly. Wiping at his eyes as she explained the location of the gym, he nodded, slipping in, "Ah, well hit the one at the mall, no need to stay at school longer than we need," before she asked him a question that clearly perplexed her.
Scrunching his brows, his voice chimed in it's natural knowing tone, his accent gracing the peaks in her words. "You see, I haven't the slightest clue how the game works." He shrugged with a sigh, as if he'd been defeated by the fact. Allowing his lips to fall into a pout, he looked up at her with a puppy dog glare, asking in return, "Why do you ask?"

Leon's laughter was slightly infectious and Rose felt herself chuckling along, smiling down the road with a small roll of her eyes. Rose and Alex could prank each other easily with little to no hard feelings but Natalia was a different matter. You could prank her but she'd probably never speak to you again, ever. Alex joked that if you wanted her to leave you alone all you'd have to do was a silly childish joke and she wouldn't speak to you for a year. Rose was yet to try it. "Good choice," Rose agreed, she'd always struggled with school; everything about it. The work, the teachers, the confining schedule, that's why she relied on others so much when she was there.
Chuckling some at Leon's words on lacrosse, Rose tilted her head noting the pout with an impish grin. "You seem like the sporting type." Rose told him with a shrug, leaning forward on her elbows. "I'd offer to teach you how to play but I gave up on lacrosse within a week of trying to play it... lots of people play it though, I'm sure that all you need is someone who knows how to play and you'll pick it up within no time."

His broad shoulders bobbed upwards only to fall lazily back into place, body slumped forward as a result of the shrug. He really never got into sports at home. It was all academics and hiding from the pain ue felt. There wasn't much time to be taught all the sports he desired to play while battling school work and pestering kids. Though he'd always wanted to delve into the act of kicking balls down the field or swinging bats at hardened spheres- Leon just always had way too much on his plate.
"I used to play football," he confessed, reffering to the game they called soccer, "I joined the team when I was ten, lasted about a month before my mom drew me out." He didn't bother telling her why, it was something he didn't care to share. Keeping his brave face on, he kept his tone calm, easing his way through the conversation with his friend. "I look the type?" Leon questioned, unsure of what she meant. Yeah, he was quite large and muscular, but he'd never been called 'sporty'. Cocking his head to the side some, he listened to her make excuses on why she couldn't teach him and just chuckled. It wasn't a surprise, Rose didn't seem like someone who'd play sports, rather just fit the profile of the girl who stood on the sidelines questioning what was going on.
"I'll find someone to teach me," he said in a promising tone, deciding he'd try for her.

"Oh, that's too bad." Rose replied and that was all she said on the matter of his mother drawing him out of the team, if he wanted her to know, she guessed he would have said. Almost laughing at his question, one side of her mouth popped open in a cheeky, teasing grin. "Yeaaaah," Rose drew out the word, placing ehr fingers in a position to make a box and holding it up to him with a laugh. "You look like you should be running across fields with people shouting "Go Leon the lion! Aha, I don't really know." Shrugging lightly, Rose dropped her fingers back onto her lap, adjusting her legs to that they were pulled up in front of her, away from the road.
"Well, I'd suggest my ex-boyfriend but I don't know where he is. The team's good though... sometimes." Not lingering on the thought of Liam for too long, Rose faintly heard the roar of a car and wondered if they should move out of the way.
