Nate had rushed home after having coffee with Myra, but he didn't quite know why he was in such a hurry. It wasn't like he needed to be anywhere. He decided that it was just adrenaline and anxiety. Once he got home, he practically ran up to his bedroom and flopped down on his bed. He lay there for a good ten minutes just beaming, replaying the events from the day in his mind. Then he started to panic, thinking of all of the things he might have done wrong that would make Myra not want to see him again. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and dialed Braydon's number (which had been the number 2 on his voicemail for as long as he could remember). He waited for him to pick up, and when he heard him answer, he said, "I have an emergency," before Braydon could even say hello.

"Are we talking like a car crash type emergency or an I just finished a season and don't know what to do moment?" Braydon asked. He was talking a nap after a long day of school and was planning on spending the night with Blake since it was Friday and he missed Blake.

Nate shook his head. "Neither," he said. "But I need to talk to you, like, now. Unless you're with Blake, and then I don't want to be awkward and interrupt you two." Nate was speaking so fast that it would be surprising if Braydon had any idea what he was saying. Nate felt like he was having a panic attack, but he didn't know why. There was nothing to panic about, right? She was just a girl. Except she was the only girl who'd had the nerve to give him the time of day in since grade school, so it was a pretty big deal to Nate.

"No I'm not with blake." Braydon began to stand up and put his shoes on and then grabbed his keys. "I'll be over in like ten minuets he said. He hung up the phone and got In his car. He had no idea what Nate was freaking out about but it was probably some mundane thing he wasn't used to. He got to Nate's house and knocked on the door. Lia answered and then he went to Nate's room. "Are toy okay?" He asked opening the door.

"Okay," he said before hanging up and setting his phone on his nightstand. He stared up at his ceiling, which had been painted like a starry sky when he was about seven. It had always bothered him because his parents would say that it was just like sleeping outside, but he would argue that the constellations were completely incorrect, therefore it was nothing like sleeping outside. But eventually it became more of a mild annoyance to him, and he didn't care to paint over it.
Nate sat up when he heard Braydon knock at the door. He nodded at his question. "Yeah, maybe, I think so," he said. He was a bit more calm now, but not much. Then again, Nate was never really calm.

"Okay so what we're You freaking out about? " Braydon asked. Be walked in and sat on Nate's desk chair and turned to look at Nate. He was confused as to how Nate was being so calm right now after how just minuets ago he was freaking out.

Nate took a deep breath and then began his story. "Okay, so I was in the library, right? And there was this girl there, and she didn't understand her math, so I helped her, okay? But then we started talking, and I found out that she's actually super nice. Oh, and she's freaking gorgeous. So then she asks me out for coffee and it's not like I'm going to say no to that, right? But then these jerks come by and start making fun of me and calling her my girlfriend, and I thought I was a goner right then, but she didn't seem to care at all. So then we went to coffee and it was super nice, but like, what if I did something to screw it up? I tend to do that a lot, you know? So I'm freaking out now cause I have her number but I don't know if I should call her or text her or wait for her to text me and OH MY GOD BRAYDON JUST HELP," he ranted about as fast as he could possibly speak.

Braydon was used to keeping up to Nate's excessive talking and fast talking. He nodded and then began to talk when he finished,"just text her. If she invited you to coffee she likes you. How long did you guys talk?" Braydon asked he raised an eyebrow at Nate.

Nate had to think about it for second. How long had they talked? It didn't seem like very long, but since school let out at 2:20, and it was now 5:30, it had obviously been longer than he'd thought. "Um a couple of hours, I think," he said. "But are you sure I should text her? I mean, I don't want to mess anything up." Nate was more nervous than he'd felt when having three AP exams in one day, and that was saying something.

Braydon raised an eyebrow at Nate. "You talk to her for a couple hours and you don't think it's okay to text her?" Braydon asked. "Dude just text her." Braydon said "and keep in mind you're getting advice from a gay guy so I could be wrong. " Braydon said

Nate raised an eyebrow at him. "Exactly!" he said. "You're a gay guy. Aren't you supposed to understand women better than me?" Nate then realized that what he said probably wasn't the right thing to say. "Sorry, I don't know if that was offensive or not." Then he almost jumped out of his bed when he heard his phone vibrate. He grabbed it quickly, honestly hoping it was Myra. But it was just Preston asking if everything was okay at the house, since he had to work late again. He texted him back saying that they were all fine, and then he opened up a new message to text Myra. "Okay, so I'll text her. But what do I say? I mean, I could just say hi, but then she's going to say hi back, and then what?" Nate was obviously just overthinking everything, but that wasn't uncommon for him.

"And then you so what's up then you build and build and build." Braydon said. He raised an eyebrow at Blake as If it were obvious as to what he could do

Nate nodded, still trying to wrap his head around the whole thing. He just typed 'hi', then hit send, then waited for Myra to respond. In the mean time, he might as well talk to Braydon since it felt like they hadn't talked in forever. "Anyways, how are you?" he asked with a smile.

"Tired. You?" Braydon asked. He looked over at Nate.
Myra was at home when her phone went off. She checked her phone. 'Hey.' She texted Nate back.

Nate laughed a little. "Anxious, but that's probably already clear," he said, then his phone buzzed when Myra texted him back. 'What's up?' he sent back, then looked back at Braydon. "So I think it's official that I have no idea how to flirt," he said with a bit of a laugh.
